  • cotswolds villages:
where we pulled over to take photos: chipping camden
village #1 (where we had afternoon tea): broadway
village we drove through with the cute phone booth: snowshill - they filmed bridget jones' diary here!
village #2 (bridges and cute shops): bourton on the water
village #3 (lord of the rings inspo spot): stow on the wold - the church where the door is is called st. edwards!
highly recommend tisane's tea room for afternoon tea! they have a back garden as well, but it was cold that day so we sat inside ☕️

It's because Australia was a British colony up until 1900 and was still part of the British Empire for decades after that. Australians are literally British. Like, if you did a DNA test I guarantee that you'd have 90%+ British DNA. Since Australia was in the British Empire, British people didn't need a visa or anything to live in Australia, so lots of British people moved to Australia in the 20th century, that's why so many Australians have British cousins or a British grandparent. Those people must have brought beans and toast with them when they moved to Australia. It's also the same reason why Australians drink tea and have such similar accents to British people. As countries, the UK and Australia (and New Zealand) are profoundly linked, historically, culturally, genetically and ancestrally. We're the same people, but we live on opposite sides of the planet.

I know what you mean by these experiences feeling unreal, I've lived in Florida my whole life so when I went to Maine for the first time, even, I felt like I'd stepped inside a storybook. I went to London for the first time this year and was sadly constrained within the city (I was there getting a tattoo for 15 hours, lmao) so I couldn't venture off into villages or the countryside, but it was SO WILD to be standing in places I'd only ever seen on TV or the internet. the world is so massive and nuanced and we tend to forget life exists outside our bubbles. thank you for taking us along with you on your trip!!

What has Winnie the Pooh to do with Hollywood? He is extremely English. That illustration on the bag is one of the original book illustrations by E.H.Shepard. The books were written, initially, for his son, Christopher Robin, by A.A.Milne,,.in the 1920's so Winnie is about 100 years old now. You can visit the original 100 Acre Wood in Ashdown Forest, on the Kent/Sussex border..

I think people forget that some things like Winnie the Pooh were bought out by Disney and it’s originally an English story.

Sorry, I know this comment is really old, but - don't worry about those people, they complain about EVERYTHING. there's no right or wrong way to do it. Even English people do it differently. If, an English person, made a video about making a cup of tea, i can guarantee that i'd get comments about how i did it wrong.

This shows the difference when you have a local tour guide. I love it when tourists go out of London and visit different parts of the country. There is so much more than London to see. I’m glad you’re having a lovely time in our wonderful country. Maybe down here in Cornwall could be your next visit. 🥰

I have no idea how many times I`ve been to and through The Cotwolds, mainly on the grounds that I wasn`t counting. It has a concentration of wonderful old homes accompanied by wonderful old stories. I might have been to these places these young lasses visited, but if I have I don`t remember. 2038 square Km of concentrated charm and tails to tell. You`d struggle to drive 20 miles anywhere in the UK without coming across beautiful old towns and villages.
I can`t get to work, for heaven`s sake, without having to drive through these kind of places.

When you were saying that village reminded you of something Disney, it kind of reminded me of The Holiday too. I would love to go to Surrey some day. And my favorite parts of other countries are the country side and see all the quaint little villages. I would love it if there was no planning things out and constantly being on a schedule. I did an EF Tour in Scotland when I was 18 and Italy when I was 19 and trust me, it’s not a vacation. You’re on a tight schedule the entire time and you either are walking so fast to get place to place (I was literally in tears because we walked none stop in Italy. I lost 12 ponds in less than 10 days. Then in Scotland in rained nonstop the entire time and spent about 15 or 16 hours in a bus every day. Every once and a while they would allow us to get off the bus for a couple of minutes to take as many pictures as we could and usually we stopped to take pics that weren’t even what we wanted to photograph and we had no idea the significance of the place or even heard of them. I’m so glad your experience is so different. Next time, please take me with you. 😉🏰

You are such a beautiful young woman. I think it's time to retire the ankle socks, they're just not a great look, and they cut your legs off making them look shorter and chunkier!

I’m sure it wasn’t your intention, but what you’ve said here is incredibly hurtful and unnecessary. Body shaming is never a good look. Your “opinion” didn’t need to be shared and you should apologize.
