The netting situation is why I went with the MacFly frame. It's nothing but time to replace or restring the netting on one. Plus I like how it ties the whole hoop and frame together, very clever and nothing else looks like it!

Man, it's something I wouldn't have appreciated previously, but as a fellow pilot it was awesome to watch you steering on landing. I fly my mojo pwr2 without speed bar and of course without 2D steering, so it was sick to see your movements

Very good and honest review. I own a Maverick plus Atom80 myself and I agree with everything you say. The plastic around the hoop is really a pain to click on the hoop on cold days. I poured some hot water on it first to make the plastic a bit softer. A bit of wd40 also helps.
Something worth mentioning for beginners is also how easy it is to run at launch and get into your seat when airborne. You just pull up your knees and you’re seated.

Stainless bolts are ideal for aluminum threads (for best corrosion resistance aluminum can react with other metals) and using thread inserts like helicoil in the aluminum is the final solution (if you ever have to retorque bolts in the aluminum more than a few times). This is a common practice in the professional world, I learned it from toolmakers. If you don't know how to helicoil, then I recommend using anti-sieze with either steel or stainless bolts into aluminum.
I just picked up a quick detach prop hub so I don't have to install thread inserts in the hub because I plan on breaking down the paramotor a lot (140cm prop cage).
How is that quick detach prop hub. Is it Iris? I saw that it only has one-year warranty and is plastic...I love the new one and I intend to order one this year. I dismantled my Maverick at least 100 times in 2 years.No problem yet. For the prop I use their allen key and my hand. I have never used the torque key for prop assembly Thank you in advance for your answer!.

Great review! I have a Maverick with the Atom, 80 and love it! I mainly fly the beach so I don't need a lot of power to get off the ground so the Atom 80 works fine for me. PS plus I'm 60 years old so it doesn't hurt the little bit lighter weight

I’m about 130kg all up and live at 5,600 feet MSL. I really hate my Maverick and desperately want to sell it and get a larger frame. For a guy my size, 6’5” 220lbs, the Maverick is just too small. I wish I knew that a 125cm prop was not enough for me before I bought it. Great video and information! I want every bigger person to know that they will be disappointed with the Maverick before they consider buying one. Although it is small it is a beautifully engineered machine that is great for most people.
I want to buy a Maverick. Maybe we can make a deal?

Buy a MavMax. It's for SURE a much better fit for your size. The 140 prop is a must at your size and altitude. Even I prefer a 130 or 140 over the 125 and do feel the difference. I'm glad they released the MavMax.
I'm the opposite as you, small guy, 5'6" and 160lbs. I fly between sea level and 900ft launch altitude and flew a 140cm prop on a Limitless frame a couple of times and it was just WAY too much torque for me, to the point where I couldn't climb out and feel comfortable at full throttle since the torque was trying to spin me under the risers. I did most of my training on a 130cm Limitless and it was ok, but kind of at my limit, then I tried a demo Maverick with the 125cm and it was absolutely perfect for me! Perfectly adequate thrust for everything I'd want to do and felt very comfortable with clearing trees and power lines, but the torque was significantly reduced to the point where it was no longer an issue for a small guy like me who wants a bit more oomph than I could pull from an Atom 80.
@@matthewjohnson2428 I actually finally sold my Maverick and got a Yooda F2 with a Factory R and 140 prop and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. It feels exactly the way I always wished my Maverick would. I’m even more happy about flying now that I have a paramotor adequate for my needs. I’m glad you found something that works for you and you enjoy! I just want larger people to be aware that the Maverick is just not powerful enough to fly small fast wings and not be at full throttle from takeoff until landing.

Good review. I love mine. Have the dual start moster on it. My Mav, 6 years ago, came with a jiggle hose for fuel ups. Don't know if they still provide one in box, but it's the best way to fuel up. I get to the cap easily from the harness side. Slide the LH upper harness strap over to the center and it makes access to the cap easy. it's a left hand operation at this point as I see u are left hand dominate this should be easy to get to, to loosen and tighten. That breather cap is fairly common across most paramotor fuel tanks and is universal so cross threading really shouldn't be an issue unless yours is somehow defective. Btw, a good test of the cap working is to blow thru the hole in the top (lets air in the tank) . You will notice flow in this direction, slightly restricted but flow. then flip the cap over and blow the other way and you should feel the baffle inside pop over and plug the hole. This direction you will have restricted flow/ no flow after the baffle pops. It's normal if yours works like this. I do this check on all fuel caps we come across on motors that are having fuel delivery issues. Fly safe fellas.

Great review! I own one and would agree with you on ALL points. On a touch and go I kicked up a rock which broke my prop ($320) the splintered prop took out my net ($420). Very expensive mistake ($740)...I opted for the unpainted netting at $220. The cost of the netting is INSANE never mind the $200 paint job. Parajet should sell just the netting material because typically the hoop material is unscathed in an accident.
It is one the only things I can complain about. Honestly, I have yet to find a net replacement that is any easier to replace but I have found cheaper to replace.
I think Matt Minyard has just the nets available made with stronger dyneema.

That's some beautiful flying. If I ever get into flying I think I'd prefer to fly a 130 prop someday but I'd like to start with a 125 with a smaller hoop or am I over thinking it?

Nice review. The gas tank fill and netting on this unit is what kept me from buying one. I cannot stand that style of netting and prefer the fixed quadrant style for easy assembly/disassembly. The gas tank fill location is just silly and they should fix that asap. I just purchased my second paramotor, a PAP Tinox with the large cage and 140 prop.
The PAP's are great and one of the paramotor I plan to purchase in the near future!
A couple of things rarely mentioned in reviews (because usually reviewers fly new paramotors and switch to even newer often): reliability and durability. How often something breaks and how soon something starts to break (and what is this something, cost, fixability, etc.). In other words: how sensitive is this gear? For the price of a moderatly used car not many recreational pilots switch their paramotors often.
The parts are cheap and readily available. The engine is also the most reliable in the industry.
@@medotaku9360 thats not saying much. I wish yamaha would pick up the paramotor 2 stroke engine. Yamaha 2 stroke engines have been reliable for me every time. Started with a 2001, then an 06, then an 09, now im on a 16. Willing to bet if they made one, Vitorazzi would be out of business.

You’d have to remove the entire cage which maybe takes 5 minutes!

The Unpainted Net is easier to install as well. The painted hoop is much stiffer and takes a lot to break in.

Hey Trevor. Love the vids. How much do you weigh? Did you follow the Offset fitment guide in the manual? I recently got the Mav and weigh around 200lb with clothes. Mid pin is in the 4th hole from front and seems like I'm kinda leaned back when I come in for landing.. Normal ? or should I adjust it 1 back?
Try it one back and see if that’s better. The fitment guides are only rough outlines. The exact placement can be different from person to person because everyone holds weight in different spots and that usually changes things.

You mentioned that you use the L/XL harness. I typically vary in weight from 170-175 lb at 5'9" height. What harness would you suggest? Also, after looking over the Polini and Off-Grid throttles I would prefer the Off-Grid. When these motors are shipped, do they have the throttle already installed or is this installed by the end user?
IMO you definitely would be better suited with the S/M harness, I am 5’10 185lb and I fly the S/M as the L/XL would sit me too low in between the swingarms, I would strongly suggest that you hang test both sizes to see what I mean. The Off Grid is also available when you order the machine from Parajet (they have a limited number of the Off Grids in stock).
A counter point on the net: The net is designed to be the “fuse” in the system. When a situation occurs that involves a prop strike the net gives up to reduce frame damage, it’s the best solution to a bad situation.It’s super easy to user replace as it does not require a drill/rivet party. The smooth hoop (no rivets) also is much easier on your wing lines in a forward launch.
Also- I have the Mav Max as well. It’s a Beast ;)
I would agree with Jacques and I think a S/M would be a better fit for you. I don't know why I prefer the L/XL so much more but maybe it's because I spent 10 years flying a much wider and larger paramotor so it's what I'm used to. When you order the Maverick you can also order the Off-Grid throttle. At least if you order with me I can help you get it. I haven't seen Parajet offer them (could be wrong but I order a bunch of these) on the new units. Message me and I can help you out - (801-599-1684)
I will agree with you that the net is the easiest to replace out there. I dread the idea of having to drill out and rivit in a new net. But the cost difference is definetly noticable.

Gravity parameters are $2000 cheaper and that's with the moser 180 and the bigger hoop
Gravity paramotors are also 60+ pounds. Not saying they suck, but they are 6 pounds heavier and only spin a 130 not even a 140.
@@TrevorSteele1 I'm pretty sure in the video you said you had to upgrade the hoop to account for the 130.. am I wrong? And what is 6lbs, I shit that much weight.
@@Mwilson8581 for 1.8 more pounds (I believe) you can get the MavMax which runs a 140 prop. The Maverick standard can fit a 130 just not very comfortable.
And 6 pounds is a lot more than you might think when it comes to paramotors. But I too don't care too much about weight.

Because in the industry he is the laughing stock and as soon as you know anything about anything you realize everything he says is either a flat out lie or a complete over exaggeration. His opinion carries little weight and is stuck in 2008. Plus nobody really takes him serious anymore. Everyhing he says is bias to persuade you into buying his equipment or his training. He doesn't actually test anything and refuses to even consider new ideas or that maybe he could be wrong.
Again - we don't talk about him because as soon as you know anything about anything you realize his opinion isn't worth anything.
I also don't talk about him or his products because if I did I would probably put him out of business because once you see things for what they really are you'll never listen to him or buy from him again.
@TrevorSteele1 First thank you for the response, i suppose is a touchy subjec. belive me, im his biggest critic. Of course i know he doesn`t compare (fairly at least) the wings. I know all the collapse videos are just cherrypicked (and different class gliders)
I regularly see his videos, in part just for fun seeing how weird of a person you can become, but in part because he sprinkles some aparently good design choices. when i see a video of him comparing the ft to anotherone and explaining the design choices that make it better you feel he is right even if you know he is full of s. But that is only because the other side of the argument is not present and does not want to defend itself or talk about it.
And of course he pushes things to the extreme regarding interests and manipulation but it`s not as if i dont have any interests myself in selling my old wing, or my instructor in selling niviuk or U-turn, or ojovolador in saying every wing he reviews is the best, or tucker only recomending and using ozone, or addiction happiness in using only little coud wings. Man im just craving for someone to do a decent test of an en-a glider compared to a dominator both at their weight range, both trim speed without brake and compare sink rate, speed and do side collapses wich are going to be exacly the same on both probably. I know its more difficult than that because probably the dominator isn`t an en-a wing anymore and definetly not outside the weight range he flies in. I want someone to address him. Now that i think about it maybe it`s better to let him be and not give him more exposure idk.
But if you really belive you could put him out of business and also that he is not doing any good and he is misleading people why not do it...
