Such a masterful scene… fans were cheering the dragon burning everything, but not wanting Jamie to die. Then cheering on Bronn, but not wanting the dragon to die…. Such conflicting emotions!
Regarding Bran... think of what makes you, 'you'. All of your experiences and memories. You can remember things and recall the feelings and emotions that helped shape you into the person you currently are. But.... if you have the collected knowledge and memories of the Three-Eyed Raven, who is privy to all events, current and past, then the person you were would probably get lost in amongst the 'sea' of other memories in your head. I might think it's like mixing 16 million colors together... you would just end up with a shade of grey at the end. That's what Bran is inside now, I believe. Grey.
I very much like that way of explaining it using colors. I've always thought of it as the "sea" analogy, that the memories of the boy Bran are only one drop in a vast ocean of collective memories.
This is a seriously underrated episode one of the best in the series imo. People hate on the later seasons but they were still dropping bangers like this in season 7.

4:05 Highgarden was the richest of the houses but not the biggest army though. Olenna admitted it when she was talking with Jamie. She asked him how well they fought, Jaimie said as good as was expected, she answered: "It was never our forte"
Near Highgarden is also where the "Iron Fist" army of House Lannister and House Gardener (who ruled The Reach before the Tyrells) fought Aegon Targaryen's invasion of Westeros. It's called the Field of Fire as the entire army of the two Houses was burned down by Aegon's dragons. After the battle it is in these fields Lorren Lannister bent his knee to Aegon the Conqueror. So this battle, the sides and the outcome mirror those events. But Jon should now that after subduing the south Aegon turned his eye northwards...maybe the new Conqueror will do the same.
Best thing about this episode is the fact that it was the most pyrotechnics ever used in a TV show (I think, I read it somewhere when it came out) hardly any of the fire is CGI, and all those Lannister extras were actually set on fire for this. Insane.
The reunions just hit different when you're watching in real time and wait with bated breath for years on end for it to happen. I used to love seeing the reactions of grown men freaking out and damnnear choking in tears lol. Let's not forget these weren't your standard 'TV reunions' that happen after about five episodes of separation. These were as genuine as it gets. That feeling of pure joy and poignancy can't be recreated, because these moments were seven long seasons in the making. I feel incredulous just thinking about that. Only in GoT.
When Arya beat Brienne and looked at little finger, the pause before he nodded with a smile, the look was fear as he recognised the knife. Great acting
Remember, the only evidence that the Lannisters were involved with the dagger was Littlefinger's saying so to Cat, back in Season 1. He said he won it from Tyrion, when Tyrion bet on Jaime to lose in a joust. From what you've seen of Tyrion and Jaime over the course of the story, it's highly unlikely that Tyrion would bet on Jaime to lose.
its pretty genius, Tyrion says only an imbecile would arm an assassin with his own blade, and everyone agrees, yet Baelish armed an assassin with his own blade and succesfully blamed it on someone else. thats next level
The best part of this battle to me is how much tension it builds. You don't want Jamie or Bronn to die, but you don't want Dany or Drogon to die. You're rooting for both sides! The stress is intense lol!
In the last episode when Jaime was talking to Olena she asked "Did we put up a good fight? It was never our strong suit." Highgarden was the richest of the seven kingdoms but the Lannister army was much better trained and battle hardened from all the recent wars. Even when Kat went to talk with Renly in season 2 she called the Tyrell army "Knights of summer" because they had never seen real battle before, they just played around at tournaments etc. War is a very different thing
That is still not a plausible explanation on its own. House Tyrell had the biggest army and a big castle with enough food. Their forces had not been reduced by combat either. We also did not see the Lannisters having any siege weapons. They would have needed to build them. They would have just needed to defend until Dany arrived for help. Somehow the whole Lannister army reached Highgarden without being seen. The only explanation is that somehow Tarly convinced most of Tyrell's allies to turn on them (which really isn't that likely). The show should have really given us some scene to show that if that was the case.
-Sure, but at this type the Lannister army was at least reduce to half. Lannisters did had severe loses against Robb (thats one of the reasons Tywin made an alliance with Frey. He knew that his numbers were low and another battle against the starks and the north, could be his downfall) -The tyrell army lead by RandlyTarly had the only victory against Robert Baratheon Rebellion and forced Robert Baratheon to retreat. This show that at least Tyrell army was decent enough by itself (Not good, juts fairly decent. Because Tarly was also leading other houses armies of the reach) This means that Tyrells could hold the siege for sometime. House Tyrell have all the food resources that Lannister/Tarly army doesnt have. -Highgarden is showed to us to be a top of a hill surrounded by trees. How did the lannister army enter in reach, follow to Highgarden, without even been notice? How did they clim the hill, without any efford and surprised Tyrell army? How did Lannister Army enter in Highgarden so easily? Specially when all the Tyrell army had to do, was Hold them. Tyrell´s warn Daenerys or at least they were waiting for her... Its not like Daenerys could bring easily Dothraki army from Dragon Stone just for a wild guess! We know that Tarly was going to talk with lords of the reach, but we never saw that. We do not know what he did talk or how he did convince them to not take part of this war. -This raise another question. Olenna belong to a big noble house (Luther was going to marry her sister. this means that Olenna´s house was very important. Otherwise a tyrell wouldnt marry a small house.) so where are they? After Tyrell army holding the siege made by Lannisters, Olenna would asked help to her house! Since theres no information, her original house maybe be alive and with more power (since olenna would probaly make sure her original house would have). -Reach was in war against Cersei/Lannisters. So this means that Olenna did had council meeting with all her bannermens. So they knew about Daenerys and Dothraki. So if Tyrell army was so bad, why would Olenna only use them? Obvious she would reunited every other houses and would offer the reach army to Daenerys. Once the houses were against Olenna decision (Tarly wouldnt be surprise, when Jaime mention dothraki to him) She knew you would turn against her. Since she would still have a few allies... they would talk to her, soon the Lannister army was the reach... Someone would be tracking Tarly/or any other houses movements, that turn against Olenna. Lets not forget that Tyrells were love among the common people in the reach. The Lannister army can’t teleport. They still needed to take days, likely weeks, to march the hundreds of miles to Highgarden, and a mobile army of thousands of men is easy to spot if they are taking the main roads (which they had to since their supply wagons march with the army). So even if all the lords had turn against Olenna. someone in the common people would talk to Tyrells soldiers about Lannisters enter in reach. This would buy time for Olenna to prepare. - By the way, around this time, who was protecting Cersei? She barelly had any army in Kingslanding. So the common people in Kingslanding would riot. They hated her since season one. Margaery was more than loved by the common people, yet they all root for Cersei now? They certainly had families they lost in the destruction of the Sept. But no protests or anything? Sure!
@@cassandramcbride7007 couple of questions - how do you know they climbed the hill without any effort and by surprise ? just because it wasn’t shown? -How do you know lannister Army hasn’t increased in size ? It’s been years since Tywin’s death - have the common people of KL ever been known to riot enough to overthrow someone in power? Or do they just care about food? In our own world tyrants are rarely overthrown by their own people due to fear , propaganda and lack of organization. It usually takes an intervention from the outside to oust a tyrant -Also with Cersei blowing up the Sept wouldn’t that make them more afraid of her? By the way didn’t Cersei have the Mountain walking around the streets to find and kill anyone who might start an uprising or even something as small as a joke against the crown?

37:55 - The name you are searching for this was machine is "ballista" or "scorpion" (I am not sure about the differences between them). I know they were used in RL, for example by the roman empire.
Highgarden was more reputation than reality when it came to military force, remember the Old Lady mocked her son and his choices. Also, HighGarden’s best commander and largest bannerman is Tarley who was talked into changing sides along with other bannerman. So HighGarden’s army was divided and perhaps even betrayed from within the walls by their own Bannermen. The dagger was supposedly lost by Littlefinger to Tyrion in a bet over a joust. Lady Stark assumed that Tyrion was behind the assassin because of Littlefinger’s story. We next saw the dagger in an ancient book Sam was reading at Old Town, a page away from the map of Dragonstone showing the dragon glass mine. So it is an ancient Valaryian steel dagger of legend long forgot. Brand might be the only one to know what the dagger is.
Hi ! Love your reactions lol. Btw, in the books, it is explained that it's Joffrey who gave the dagger to the cutthroat. Robert said ( while he was drunk ), that a brave man should put Bran out of his misery. Joffrey did it to impress him. Tyrion knew it and that was actually why Joffrey hated him so much ( among other reasons ).
If LF is smart, he effin leave, He's in the wolf den: A red wolf he's teaching the game to; A wing wolf who can fly and see things and now a Dark wolf trained in killing..and let's not forget the unseen Ghost.
I think what Jaime saw with Daenerys was the return of the Mad King who he killed to protect 1,000,000 people, only this time with an army and dragons. He couldn't let that happen, even if his attempt was doomed.
The gold that the Lannisters got from Highgarden already made it through to King's Landing. It wasn't all that apparent but that was like their priority to get the train of spoils through. Whats almost never apparent in pretty much any movie or TV show portraying these types of things is just how much time and effort it takes to not only move an army, but to move their supplies and food and horses and just about anything to do with the logistics of war.
It was never Jaimes dagger, it was actually the dagger the assassin used to try and kill bran in season 1 after his fall. After that Lady Cat took it to kings landing, Tyrion was accused of owning the dagger by Cat but Bronn won the trial by combat to clear his name and I don’t think we have seen it since then.
It was Little Finger's dagger initially, remember he told Cat that it was his dagger, but he lied and said he lost it to Tyrion in a bet for Jaime in a tournament, when he actually lost it to Robert Baratheon, not Tyrion. Jaime even said that his brother would never bet against him in a tournament. While he was helping Tyrion escape from the city, they speculated that Joffrey was the one who sent the assassins and gave them the dagger to use. But I'm 95% sure Little Finger is the one behind that attempt on Bran's life, he has been trying to fuel a war between the Lannisters and Starks since before the beginning and he lied about who he lost the dagger to.
Missing details. Cat showed the dagger to Littlefinger and Varys. Littlefinger claimed it was his and lost in a bet to Tyrion. After that the dagger remained in his possession.
35:20 I'm sure you caught it in editing but that was not all the gold nor the complete Lannister army. The conversation at 30:30 Randall Tarly said the gold was in King's Landing and they discussed how the army was stretched thin and Tarly wanted to whip the soldiers to move them along faster.
The reason that Littlefinger has the dagger is because Catlin gave it to him when she brought it to him to ask who it belonged to, and he said it was his, so presumably he just kept it.
People tend to forget..Jon Arya and Bran have magic working with them; Sansa does not, she has to do it using only her gifts she was born with. Another fun thing... Sansa is the ONLY Stark ( Ned and Cat's kids ) born in Winter.
How grand was the shot of Dothrakis breaking through the Lannister lines while Drogon flies over the skies menacingly as the inferno raged underneath. The Dothrakis all jumping on their horses at the same time with the war music playing that gets you all fired up? That shot was insane too. The choreography of that fight is off the chain! Some award winning shit right there. Like King Robert said so long ago, "only a fool would meet the Dothraki in an open field". Who would've thought then that it will be Jaime who ends up drawing the short end of the straw? Poor Jaime gets completely rolled over by the horselord hordes smh. Hard for me to watch.😔
Sansa survived the south whereas her father, uncle and grandfather didn't. Sansa survived Cersi. I wouldn't say she hasn't achieved what her siblings has.
I feel you man, season 7 is incredible. Episode 6-10 is my favorite episode, but 7-4 has my favorite battle, this one. The scene where the Dothraki jumps on the horses back and that EPIC music plays... omg, it's just perfect. Best scene of the whole series.

The one thing they do well is make these battle set pieces feel monumental. Just when I think they can't top the craziness of the previous battles, the loot train battle leaves me awed. The Dothraki to Tyrion : "Your people can't fight". But lol how did the Dothraki fair against the dragons? Not so well either huh. Actually Bran only sees bits and pieces of things, unless he hones in a particular thing. I don't think anyone ever said that Highgarden had the biggest army, and they were rich because they grew most of the food. The Vale of Arryn, and Harrenhall were probably the most impenetrable, remember Tywin telling Arya about when she was his cupbearer.
I'm pretty sure they had the Largest army in the second season. Remember how it was the defection of their forces to the side of Joffrey that decided the battle of Kings landing?
@@vincegalila7211 That doesn't mean they had the biggest army per se, especially Highgarden individually. Also in terms of S7, The Tyrells don't necessarily have access to the entire military power of the Reach the same way they did in S2. In S2 people like Randyll Tarly, who are also rich and have many troops, are the Tyrell's banners. It's similar with every great house, if they don't have the firm support of the 2nd level Lords under them, they aren't super secure or very imposing on their own. So by the time of S7 the Tyrells in that scenario could very well only have the troops their house directly controls in Highgarden, which is a much smaller force than what they could theoretically muster if they called all their bannermen up, if they would be willing to help in the first place.
The white horse and the carriage running is just that white horses and carriage running for their life getting the fuck out of there haha. No symbolism there. Just straight up fear
Catlyn took the dagger to kings landing with her to show Ned and tell him what happened. Ned kept the dagger to use it as proof of the attempted murder by lannisters. When Ned was killed, Little Finger got the dagger back for whatever reason. Love your reactions Major! Can’t wait till the next one comes out.😊
Just to keep things clear: Think of Bran as a hard drive, a massive amount of info he is receiving at a very fast rate, and for him or anyone else who needs that info; Bran needs to be pointed to it in some way... Like asking the right question, or a key word or phrase must be used.
Good point. He also had to leave the cave before he was ready. Meera asked him at the heart tree if he was ready, and he said, “I have to be.” I think it’s probably a jumbled mess in his head at this point in the story.

Hi Major family! Your comment about Highgarden…. The reach was the wealthiest kingdom. Not because they had good army or fighters, but because they had the farmland. They were very wealthy. But they couldn’t fight as well as the Lannisters. Which is why it was east to beat them. Littlefinger fit the dagger back when Caitlin took it to Kings Landing to find out who it belonged to. It was Littlefinger ‘s dagger and he told Caitlin that he lost it in a bet with Tyrion. Dany had her army, the reach, the iron islands, and Dorne. Now she has lost them all. Tyrion screwed her. Dany should just attack. But, seems like when it comes down to it fans really don’t want to get to, a d Tyrion just wants to ask them nicely to lay down their swords.

When Arya beat Brienne and looked at little finger, the pause before he nodded with a smile, the look was fear as he recognised the knife. Great acting
Bran: I'm the three eyed Raven
Arya: I'm no one
Sansa: Why has everyone gone insane?
Remember, the only evidence that the Lannisters were involved with the dagger was Littlefinger's saying so to Cat, back in Season 1. He said he won it from Tyrion, when Tyrion bet on Jaime to lose in a joust. From what you've seen of Tyrion and Jaime over the course of the story, it's highly unlikely that Tyrion would bet on Jaime to lose.
Exactly, everybody should have caught that when Baelish said it, should have known he was lying….
its pretty genius, Tyrion says only an imbecile would arm an assassin with his own blade, and everyone agrees, yet Baelish armed an assassin with his own blade and succesfully blamed it on someone else. thats next level
Littlefinger said HE bet on Jamie as any sane man would, when he was unseated by the knight of flowers so he lost the dagger to Tyrion.
@@MattMajcan it wasn’t baelish though. Joffrey sent the catspaw with the dagger he had been given by King Robert
@@MattMajcan Even that I think doesn't make sense. Cause Baelish would be too close to implicate himself
I mean their banner was a flower with the words “growing strong” lol
He knew that his numbers were low and another battle against the starks and the north, could be his downfall)
-The tyrell army lead by RandlyTarly had the only victory against Robert Baratheon Rebellion and forced Robert Baratheon to retreat.
Sure!
@@cassandramcbride7007 Bro. Season 7 was just bad fan fiction. Don't even try to make sense of it.
@@cassandramcbride7007 couple of questions - how do you know they climbed the hill without any effort and by surprise ? just because it wasn’t shown?
-How do you know lannister Army hasn’t increased in size ? It’s been years since Tywin’s death
- have the common people of KL ever been known to riot enough to overthrow someone in power? Or do they just care about food? In our own world tyrants are rarely overthrown by their own people due to fear , propaganda and lack of organization. It usually takes an intervention from the outside to oust a tyrant
-Also with Cersei blowing up the Sept wouldn’t that make them more afraid of her? By the way didn’t Cersei have the Mountain walking around the streets to find and kill anyone who might start an uprising or even something as small as a joke against the crown?
Btw this is the first battle I really felt "afraid" about. Because there's people (and dragons) I love in both sides. Such a banger tho
“Don’t kill Jaime!! Don’t kill Bronn!! DON’T KILL DROGON!!!” I was so torn.

I’d argue Blackwater was similar (at least for me) because I wanted Stannis to win, but also don’t want Tyrion, Bronn, and the Hound to die
@@WTDProductions I felt exactly the same! But even though I wanted Stannis to win, there wasn't anyone on his side that I cared too much for (ended up loving Davos). But it was the first battle. We were waiting for it for almost 2 seasons so I was 20% concern, 80% hype. In this one was just anxiety for the entire episode 😂
Bronn laughing at Dickon because of his name is a great scene.
"Isn't their survival more important than your pride" - Jon to Mance Rayder, Season 5 Episode 1
"This morning I heard a song all the way from Qarth, beyond the red waste. Daenerys Targaryen lives. She has three dragons. Even if what they say is true, it'll be years before they're fully grown and then there'll be nowhere to hide" - Varys to Tyrion before Blackwater, Season 2 Episode 8
"When my dragons are fully grown we will lay waste to great armies and burn cities to the ground" - Daenerys at the gates of Qarth, Season 2 Episode 4
Forget the gold hand, Jaime has freaking gold balls running after Dany like that near a damn dragon! lol
When we have watched every episode more than a dozen times and the enjoyment is watching somebody watch it for the first time.
If you go back to the episode where Sam discovers there's dragon glass beneath dragon stone, look very carefully at the pages of the book as he turns them and you will see Baelish's Valyrian dagger in those pages.

The battle scene in this episode is so beautifully shot. It gives me chills every time!
I love your excited grin before starting the new episode. We feel ya!
sometimes he reminds me of my sons when they were little, and excited about something! It's adorable.
I think what Jaime saw with Daenerys was the return of the Mad King who he killed to protect 1,000,000 people, only this time with an army and dragons. He couldn't let that happen, even if his attempt was doomed.
Just got home from work, rolled a fat smoke, poured a large Kraken over ice. Ready my friend.
Ayeee let's goo
Love seeing people see this show for the first time.
@@somethingtrulyhorrifying no spoilers dude wtf I was trying to give a little background without spoiling things

Imagine if all the gold was just stolen by bandits and common criminals.
that's the dagger little finger put to ned starks neck when he betrayed him
Let’s goooooo! Whatssup notification crew!!
It's hard to say who'd win between Brienne and Arya. I think they're evenly matched so the setting would probably dictate the outcome more than skill.
When Katlyn Stark asked Jamie if he ordered the killing he said if he ever wanted somebody dead he would do it himself
The reason that Littlefinger has the dagger is because Catlin gave it to him when she brought it to him to ask who it belonged to, and he said it was his, so presumably he just kept it.
The horse and carriage literally only mean that Dany successfully burned all food and goods that her own army so desperately needs..
People tend to forget..Jon Arya and Bran have magic working with them; Sansa does not, she has to do it using only her gifts she was born with.
Another fun thing... Sansa is the ONLY Stark ( Ned and Cat's kids ) born in Winter.
Lil finger got the dagger back from Kat in kings landing
This episode, specifically the Dothraki charge, is one of the ones that gives me the same chills and excitement every time I see it
How grand was the shot of Dothrakis breaking through the Lannister lines while Drogon flies over the skies menacingly as the inferno raged underneath.
At the time the burning of the army made it into the Guinness book of records for largest burning of people in a movie or show at one time.
Sansa survived the south whereas her father, uncle and grandfather didn't. Sansa survived Cersi. I wouldn't say she hasn't achieved what her siblings has.

I think they were able toe asily take High Garden because the Tyrell army is not there, it's on the way to King's Landing.

Who on earth can fair well against fire breathing dragons.....maybe there is someone 😶

Also Bran's ability's are ill defined. And are rarely used
@@vincegalila7211 That doesn't mean they had the biggest army per se, especially Highgarden individually.
