There is a place in Walland, Tennessee, called Rocky Branch Community Center. It’s an old school. On Friday nights, they have jam sessions in different rooms. And in the parking lot sometimes. Admission is free. If you play an instrument you can bring it and join in. I’m telling you…there is nothing better.
People ask me if I have seen Game of Thrones or whatever of the other 100s of shows everyone is binge watching. I tell them no. I’m either reading or watching channels like this. I learn more and I am far more entertained by this
The popular will look good on the wall and solid. Those slabs and boards will become beautiful. The Carter family has blessed millions with their music. Lots of good things and folks came out of "dem 'er 'ills." My wife came from western Virginia, east of Bristol.
That was awesome to get a shiplap lesson and some country music bluegrass culture experience while enjoying my morning “OFFEE “ what an awesome way to start my day
Tell you what Nathan , you really put a lot of thought into how the shot is going to look to the subscribers . That shot of the camera being on the poplar as your chop saw came down was almost artistic and I know I speak for most when I say thank you for taking that amount of time and effort . Cheers mate 👍🏴
Nathan, the 1/8 inch gap on the poplar boards will give you a great looking wall. Thanks for taking us along and giving us a sample of some fine music and dancing. Blessings to you.
I’d be there just about every week Nathan, A.P Carters homestead! I had the honor of seeing the Carter Family back in the 60s at Hershey ParkPa. It was Mother Mabel who was the head of course, Wildwood Flower, Will The Circle Be Unbroken, Jimmy Brown the Newsboy, Keep On The Sunnyside and many more. I play all these songs a well and like You Are My Flower! It was great to see them live. A.P. Carter’s grave stone simply has his name, dates, a golden record inflated into the stone that says, Keep On The Sunny Side! Of course I’d only go hear the music after I bought some lumber from you,,,,,of course, indeed and fer ser! Poplar turns a lovely brown color with age the Very and wonderfully mellow! Kind Thanks and Many Blessings to All the Elliot Family! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania
Haven't seen much of the new puppy lately. Hope he's doing well. The Poplar looks good, we tend to use Knotty Pine or Cedar for the same sort of interior work over here in the Piney Woods of East Texas. Take care and Please keep the Good Info and Entertainment coming. Tell The Family we all say Hi. Have a Great Day and a Better Tomorrow.
I really enjoyed this video Nathan. The shed is coming together beautifully. What a great space and the door looked great, Really nice hand work on that. The Carter performance space was beautiful. I noticed the floors and how beautiful they were. I went to a place in West VA a few times when I lived down that way years ago. I would catch the blue grass band called "The Seldom Seen" where at a place called "Mountain Stage" in Charleston. Always a fun time and great players. Thanks for reminding me of those nights.
That was awesome seeing the Carter Family Saturday Nite hoe down and you were able to show Bruno getting involved on the dance floor. Glad you had a great time Bruno, keep up the fun !! OLD DAWG DREAMING Fred.
That kiln looks like it works really well. I noticed the pallets of wood had no strapping to apply pressure to keep the lumber straight and there was minimal bowing or cupping. I have my shop climate controlled, you are going to enjoy it. Shop is looking nice. Good video all around.
Thanks, once again, for sharing your life with us. And yes, it is unlikely my family and I will ever make it to Carter Fold, but Tennessee, well, you never know.
Nathan, I'll tell you what fixed my porter cable, was a Dewalt. I'm not much porter cable anymore, just not the quality it once was. Good video buddy, i enjoyed the music.
It's my understanding that Stanley Tools owns DeWalt and Porter Cable. And that they are letting the PC brand die on the vine. I believe that they have stopped production on several of the PC tools in the last couple years.
Absolutely awesome content Nathan. I’m over here in the Shenandoah Valley, and some folks here have been talking about Carter Fold. I need to get over there. My father originally told me about it before he passed this year. Love your channel, and this added a new dimension to the greatness. By the way, the way you explain the moulder and other parts of your process is spot on. I learn so much!
Bruno should be helping you do this work in the shop. He'd learn more than you'll believe. I started helping my Dad when I was around 7 or 8, cutting grass with a riding mower, building things, carrying fire wood etc. Chores are good for a kid, they build good character. But of course, there should be some play time too.
MM77 Approved 👍🏼👍🏼…………………………………………………….back in my younger days, if I drank enough moonshine, I could flat foot too! I thought I was pretty good, my wife says I’m full of crap!!! LOL!!
You’ve go to go to a line dance! I used to when I was in South Georgia, I had a blast! Nothing like getting back into the old ways for sure! Take care and stay safe Nathan! God bless! Hello to Bruno! ✝️🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks for the insight to the history of Carter Fold as being in New England I likely won't make it down there. And great to see Bruno out there dancing and enjoying the music!!
I think you need to sale a couple tractors and buy an edger and build a shed for it and the remaining tractor and skidsteer. I'd keep the medium tractor and the skidsteer.
Nathan, a few questions: 1) You, previously, mentioned you sold of your edger. Why did you sell it? 2) Do you plan on getting another one? 3) Why did you align the vertical ends, of the ship-lap, on that back wall, instead of staggering those joints? (just curious) 😁✌🖖

I fell for Flatt and Scruggs when I was a kid. The Ballad of Jed Clampet .
Grass is green mate - not blue
Fan of Jimmy Ryan, myself. Not much known, but he sure can play a mandolin.
Hee Haw...coming back...im a pickin...and I'm a grinnin😀 👍✌
I really enjoy listening to bluegrass.
So do I it has a down home hood feeling 🤠🇺🇸🎶
If I lived close to that music, I would be there every Sat. night.
Bruno looked like he was having a goodnight. Thanks for the ride and music.

Bruno is so lucky to have his dad not only take him to the Carter Fold but also to get up and dance as well... how about that!
The popular will look good on the wall and solid. Those slabs and boards will become beautiful. The Carter family has blessed millions with their music. Lots of good things and folks came out of "dem 'er 'ills." My wife came from western Virginia, east of Bristol.
Oh my gosh Nathan thank you for letting this Tasmanian music fan experience a real live blue grass concert 🇦🇺🎸⚡️🤘🏿🤘🏼💋❤️
Could you call this gathering a hootenanny?
@@reannejarvis9464: The term is usually associated with folk music, not bluegrass.
@@zapa1pnt thank you I did wonder
Get it Bruno!

Well that ending was an unexpected surprise and pleasure. Thanks
Great camera work Nathan! Bruno has the right idea.
Tell Brunno that Bluegrass was a great choice for the evening. Stay safe.
Oh yes. Brings back memories of the couple years I got to spend in Kentucky.
Chocked full of good stuff! Happy to see Bruno enjoying Carter Fold!
You and me both!
Great video Nathan love the woodworking and sawmill videos. Keep them coming. Thanks

Thank you for showing me the Carter place. Reinforces my desire to visit the backcountry places all over our great country.
Any time!
Thanks for explaining the need of the edger before sending the lumber through the mulder.
👍👍
I have had all my Dewalt nailers for over 30 years, never let me down.
I still have mine and they still work, gotta be almost 20 yr old
You were so good to your boy God bless you
I jumped the gun! You answered my question a little later!

Bruno has autism it’s about his safety is why he’s not in the shop and videos. He tries real hard but Nathan has to limit him and protect his son
@@texasjetman I'm glad that someone else realises what Bruno has. So many people though well meaning have no idea.
Thank you for the preview of the Carter place.

Has anyone ever told you how beautiful the countryside is where you live? Just gorgeous!

Thanks!
I was unaware the Carter homestead was now a concert venue - very cool
Has been since the 70s
I like how you have a nice lip on the board for nailing for nice hidden fasteners ! Great video!
Thanks!

A great way to spend time with the family. How are Bruno's skid steer driving lessons going, he able to start helping you out yet? :)
Looked like a great place. They have a yearly bluegrass fest 10 miles from my home and a dulcimer fest about 20 miles away. Blessings brother
