@@ProPutterPlayz Ok. Was just asking as i bought that route and didnt see much about it on YT. To be fair, the trains are pretty hard to operate, so thats a point for modern trains.
That's because they have been modified to allow it. In real life, London Underground trains have the wheels insulated from the traction current, so if they don't have a 4th rail there is no return path and no circuit. On sections where London Underground shares the tracks with 3rd rail trains (the District line to Richmond and Wimbledon) the 4th rail is electrically bonded to the running rails to provide a return path.
Whilst they maybe able to connect physically (assuming both have Delmer Couplings) - they have different software configurations mean they would not be able to operate in normal service.
You should try TSW2 Northern-TransPennine one day! Its great and has retro BR trains
I'm usually not into old/retro routes as I'm more a fan of modern era trains xd

Myth: you can make the entire HS1 (Ebbsfleet to London) in a 375
I dont think 1972/1938 stock needs an earthing rail because the 1938 stock runs fine on the isle of whight

You can with the new Class 377, sometimes the old Class 377 will jump off the tracks and go crazy if you try and couple it to a Class 375.
