Roberta Flack & Stevie Wonder "Don't Make Me Wait Too Long" (2023 Totally Possible Duet Mix) **

- New 2023 mix from the original multitracks. This song appeared on Roberta’s 1980 album “Back Together Again” and was written by Stevie Wonder. Roberta sang it solo on the album though you do hear Stevie joining with her in the spoken/rap break. The nice discovery is that Stevie sang the song completely on the multitrack allowing this duet version to be created. I hope you enjoy this version !
What what WHAT!! I've always loved this track with Roberta and Donny, but this is something else. Stevie laid down the whole vocal? just amazing to discover. Also loved less reverb on Roberta's vocals compared to the original, hits the vibe so well. Week done man, absolutely LOVE THIS! 🤗
Thank you, sir!
@@themotownboy1 Love Donny and Stevie . My great singers .I met Stevie in 2008 after his concert in Manchester ,he's such nice person .
Not too sure about the reverb thing with Roberta, I’m a Reverb Junkie😂
Donny actually didn’t record this with her. He had already passed when this was recorded for their album together. It’s only Stevie and Luther Vandross singing with her on the original along with the female angles in the background
I have the original copy with the Letter on the back from Roberta Flack to Donny Hathaway who died tragically this was their Last Album together.
I could never listen to this while driving. I’d be in a lake or up a tree… Especially with the angelic background singing ❤😊❤
Tears in my eyes good!
Absolutely
Beautiful Labor Of LOVE ❤
Yes it was...thank you!
This is Everything you need…
I have always Loved this ❤❤ song, I Remember the first time I heard it Back in March, 1980 Dang 44 years Ago. I would Like to Dedicate this to my My Late Husband Jeff Dunn May he RIIP. He was only 53 when he Died from Liver Disease. I was only 19 and he was 18 when we married In 1981 But we Divorced in 1984.
Music as a child growing up was the only constant in my life. I breathed the words of some songs like they were my own. My mother hipped me to Roberta Flack with Blue Lights in the Basements. I caught wind of the next album with Donny Hathaway. Then I heard this song. The first thing that got me was driving bass. And then I listened to the words. I was lonely when this song came out. Again, the song was like words coming out of my own mouth. I truly love this song. I was 13 going on 14 when this song was released. Love it today like it was the first time I heard it.
Absolutely beautiful song. Unfortunately Donnie had already passed when this done. It’s only Stevie & Luther on male vocals. Stevie’s boy Nathan Watts on this awesome Bass😊
YES‼🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Truly a Gift! Thank You... Just beautiful and visionary!
This would definitely top the charts !
MAGIC !!!!!!!
Thanking you man for turning me on to this version 👍
Great remix
First I've heard this with Stevie gonny have to have a doobie in the park with earpods me thinks I've loved the version with donny since I was 19 now 63 and I still listening to it at least twice a week one of those rare tunes that you can zone out to something very spiritual about this ❤️
Looove this
Whoever did this deserves an award. Hope to see it cleared and available on all platforms. Cheers! ❤
Beautiful and Brilliant ❤
Her most underrated song and Prime example of Stevie's influence and contributions to other artists....And an Awesome Hustle Dancing song....
I have the Roberta and Donny cd .play it alot
Very very nice!
I already knew this song as solo from Stevie thanks to "The Reflex" Revision. This is so very well done, as all your work. Love it!
Thank you!! 🙂
Terrific. This is new to me, so thank you x ❤. Love this.
Whew! Thank you for a "totally positive duet remix!"
This version is freaking awesome.
LOVE This.
Smooth.
Now, why am I suddenly thinking of Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand?
Time to listen to Donna Summer do Love's About To Change My Heart again.
Merry Christmas to me! Thanks for this!!! Awesome!
This song is a gem and should be far better known that it is. This duet version is excellent, though I do prefer Roberta's reverbed vocal on the original which accentuates the dream-like quality the song has for me. Nonetheless she is excellent without the reverb. I never really got on with the "remastered" version that is on some music services - though again I don't think it's bad - IMO just not as good as the original. Stevie, as always, does a great job here and it's a measure of the man that he gave this winning song away rather than keeping it exclusively for himself. This definitely deserves a formal release.
Couldn’t agree with you more. It’s Stevie’s song but the original version with just Roberta with the reverb & her backup vocals including Luther Vandross can’t be touched. I love this version too. Wondering how I would feel if I heard this version first?
THIS... is truly a
great (and respectful
approach) way to
remixing/re-editing
one of the best dance
compositions from
my early 20s (as a
club DJ). I thank you
Thank You THANK
YOU MAESTRO!!!
👍🏾❤👏🏾🔥👊🏾
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
my Mojo has risen
You obviously have the STEMS..and jealousy doesn't accurately describe how I feel. But *in my Stevie whisper* Can you post the Stevie version that plays alll the way to the end. The Reflex version doesn't do that! And thank you thank you thank you for leavng Luther IN and taking much of that reverb out!
could i download this somewhere?
Is it possible that I can contact you?
If only they would have added Luther Vandross’s part in here it would have been more lit😊
