Hi, As explained we solder the rings on the sides to make them stiff and strong all by hand. We do not cast them like others do and get a lower quality product. Solder has to be less for strength. 2k less to be exact. In your case it’s 16k solder. On 14k it’s 12k solder etc. If you test your bracelet on the solder it will read under k as well. If you test the bracelet on its side or on top since your bracelet is thicker has more area to read away from the solder it will read true karat. As mentioned in store we have no problem remaking it for you but with the solder in the center not on the sides and that is a weaker construction and can break as it is not as strong. (Not that it will, but it can) Doing such a construction that is weaker will void warranty as it’s not built to Daniel Jewelry Inc standards but will read the correct karat on the gun since there is no solder on the sides. We been doing rings this way over 20 plus years. If you ask around chain makers will actually use 8-10k solder. We do it the correct way of 2k under. If you would like to get this problem solved, pass by with no problem we will do as you would like. All and all this is a true 18k ring with 16k solder on the sides for strength. Thank you. Have a great day.
That's messed up. The 18k stamp is incorrect. I think the rep was B-Sing you to get you out the door. 18k gold is barely weaker than 14k gold. I think they made a mistake and were trying to cover it up.
Thanks for watching the video. Yeah man, this put a bad taste In my mouth and I will not be getting my next piece from Daniel's after this bad experience.
@@Pharoh_95sorry for this i never got caught on this daniel jewelry inc hype when buying my cuban,,, check out limaxi jewelers in tampa,, im from nyc by the way
Maybe don’t get such an expensive jewelry piece as a gift next time if you’re going to complain about 1/2k or research how jewelry is made before buying anything else from anyone, especially after they explained themselves to you. You said it yourself “I’m not a jeweler”…just bashed them for no reason😂
You should have stood on the discount. They definitely owe you that. If you would have threatened to not take the ring at all I guarantee they would have folded.

DJI is right about this.. most jewelers us 8k solder. You're lucky they only did it 2k under . Beautiful ring .
Same thing happened to me with a Jacoje Miami cuban. Supposed to be 18k. Tested at 17.
72.55 to be exact
I got a 22k chain from them. I should check the purity of it now! 😢

This is really disturbing since I got a 18k chain and 22k chain. I didn’t like the way they treated you.
