  • The ball Tommy Jones dominated with is back with updated HK22 technology! With the 500/1000/1500 finish, the GB13.7 Pearl makes for a very predictable ball motion that you'll see in this review.
    With the help of SPECTO data, it'll help tell the story about reaction shape, overall hook and continuation through the pins. Here are the SPECTO data points used and definition of each term:
    Launch Speed - Speed measured off the hand.
    Entry Speed - Speed measured at the pins. (What you'd see on your home center MPH screens)
    Rev Rate - Revolutions Per Minute (RPM)
    Launch Angle - The angle the ball traveled the first 10 feet.
    Break Point Position - Board at which the ball was at its outermost position.
    Total Hook - Total number of boards the ball crosses on the way to the pins.
    Hook Power - Number of boards the ball hooked based on the True Breakpoint.
    Entry Angle - The angle of the ball between 51 and 55 feet.
    Impact Angle - The angle of the ball between 57 and 59.5 feet.
    Pin Deck Exit - Ball position at the end of the pin deck.

    Man all of these throwbacks are taking me back. Dear Brunswick can we please get the Speed Zone remake with some HK22? Would be perfect for the holidays 🙏

    I went to a demo this past weekend and I absolutely fell in love with this ball. For me it was very smooth and predictable. Reminded me of the Ripd pearl. A ball I had also loved.

    NICK!!! This Big Time SE looks like low profile monster…and the responsiveness in the slow hook is fantastic-just how much energy is stored up for the pin deck!

    This ball is definitely something great and different currently. This will definitely be amazing on those flat medium-long patterns or modified house shots out there. Definitely going to add this ball for myself. Hope people where I live will see this gem!! Review is good as always! Love the content and the podcast with Phil!

    Looking forward to this ball. With all the snapping balls we’ve had lately this looks to be a fresh look. Also curious as to polish/surface change adds versatility to it. Great video

      Between this and Piranha, there’s a good mix across the brands in reaction shapes.

    That is a unique shape. I’ve been having issues with my ball(s) overreacting recently because I have a lot of hand apparently (or at least more than my team mates). I was looking to pickup the ethos but this also looks like a good option. Will you be getting your hands on a hammer hazmat sometime soon?

    Nick, please watch this ball on light hits - it deflects quite a bit. It looks like you gave it a long pin to PAP distance in the layout, which should have the ball going longer before reading the lane. But with HK-22 in the cover, I expected a stronger down lane reaction and stronger finish at the pins. I'm guessing less surface will be helpful for most bowlers. I'm not sure if it will match well up on house patterns unless the bowler can rip the cover (rev dominant). Maybe I'm wrong. Let me know if I am. Thanks.

      @brunsnick  8 місяців тому

      Speed dominant players will like it out of box. It’s pretty dull OOB. Uses a lot of energy in the front so it’ll be less continuous through the pins.

    Really liked the looks of this ball. Would it be a good ball for low rev low speed player who likes to play straight up with maybe five to ten boards left when they break down on house pattern. Thanks

    • @brunsnick
      @brunsnick  8 місяців тому +1

      It might be a bit too dull out of box in my opinion, but if you’re looking for a control piece, this is it. The ball digs in out of the box.

    I’d be interested to see how this ball would perform if it had some compound/polish on top of its out of box surface.

    Would you have changed your layout for a sport pattern or Nationals with such a slow hooking paradise? It looks smooth as silk, with no jump or hockey stick like more of the other Brunswick brands with hook monsters!!! keep bringing the great educational content!!!

    • @brunsnick
      @brunsnick  7 місяців тому

      No I don’t think I would have. Some balls are just smoother rolling and this is one of them.

    After watching this video, this ball would be best on medium to dry conditions?

    • @brunsnick
      @brunsnick  8 місяців тому

      I don’t think so no, it digs in early so it wouldn’t be for dry lanes. If you shined it up you could make it work.

  • @TheClovvn

    Ball rolls out or wants to roll out a ton. Even tho its a dull pearl, it should have far more continuation. Doesn't look very good if you actually watch the roll/hit.

    • @brunsnick
      @brunsnick  8 місяців тому

      It does roll more forward, yes. Still continues through the pins, moreso when I moved in and played through oil. Pin deck exit board was good with open angles.
