I am aware it is pronounced --- Cascarilla (pronounced: kas-kah-ree-ya). I was only saying it in English. I am Puerto Rican and bilingual. Spanish is my first language. Thanks y'all! Blessings.
Lol, glad to know I'm not the only bruja that has a husband who is a "skeptic" though he still basques in our success! My dad was the same with my mother , now he comes to me seeking advice.
Made Cascarilla for the first time ! I let the eggs soak in vinegar mixture with moon water and black salt (just for added protection & blessing) and forgot about it so it sat over night 😣 The membrane came out pretty much intact but I did loose quite a few pieces of egg because they were brittle from the vinegar but I noticed I was easier to mash them up after drying them out in the oven on a low temp for about 30 min. All in all it was a good first attempt. Didn’t add anything extra to the finished product but I’m very happy with it. Also, the crunching sound is so satisfying lol 💜 BB!
Love the video ur adorable!!! Just a suggestion though.....anytime I use eggs I IMMEDIATELY RINSE THE SHELL out in the sink and the membrane comes out with just using my thumb/finger as I rinse it out. It makes life a lot easier in my opinion.... To each is own though! Lol blessed be!
This is my first time I am viewing you and I just need to tell you...I LOVE YOU AND YOUR ENERGY...YOU ARE SO AMAZING AND QUIRKY... LIKE FRFR YOU'RE GREATNESS
I'll have to try the vinegar! The first bit of eggs I saved, I didn't clean the membrane after use and they molded (though maybe I didn't dry them long enough, and I did put them all in a sealed ziplock). This time, I've been removing the membrane right after cooking with them and setting them out to dry, then storing them in a bowl. So far so good there. I do have a question though. Even once I've removed the membrane, I continue to rub my fingers against the inside of the egg shell under the warm water and more still seems to be there. It's kind of like how when you get sunburn and you can rub that spot and the skin peels. Are there multiple layers to the membrane? Or does the vinegar just allow ALL of it to come out at once?
I love the in-depth tutorial; most I find don’t tell you why they do what they do, just what you’re supposed to do. I did have a question, you said the flour makes it last longer? Does the eggshell mold? How does it degrade, over time...?
I've never had an issue. I believe it would mold if the membranes weren't taken out properly. Flour also helps with it's color and for it to paint the way it does. At lest from my experience.
I have the same gold elephant incense burner! So cute! You have great fun upbeat energy and explain what you are doing really well and in a fun way. I'm subscribing )💛(
Thanks so much for this! I think your energy is wonderful and you make this look like fun! ;) Having Virgo Rising, this type of thing is TOTALLY up my alley! :D White blessings :)
+Idaline Carthaysius I did okay I think :D I managed to *not break* about half of them :'''D Did you notice, that sometimes the shells had a double membrane?!!! Just when I thought I was clear, there was ANOTHER layer? Crazy mutant eggs... must have been organic. Anaaaaaand... how satisfying is it when you pull a membrane completely in one go? It's like when you peel a mandarin orange peel off in one piece.
+Davina Danyluck oh man so satisfying!!! I never had that issue. double layer! the future is now. haha! it does takes practice. I did it a bunch of times before I made this video till I perfected to the way I like it. :)
I make the same face as you do removing the membrane 😂😂😂😅😂 the EEWWWWW face. Just prepared the shells of about 100 eggs since Thursday... man... it came beautiful but it is really time consuming and requires A LOT of pacience indeed 💖

Thank you
I boil the egg shells then bake them in the oven for about 10 minutes. Toss in a bullet blender and blend until they're a fine powder.

The membranes can be used as bandaids to help seal cuts and burns
how to preserve the membranes?
Boil. Dry. Grind.
Yes mamm I'm a brand new subscriber

This is the sweetest, most honest cascarilla video I’ve seen so far. Thank you for sharing

Yes, it contains two layers. In my experience the vinegar removes both layers flawlessly.
@@CalypsoQuestell awesome, thank you!
I believe pronounced “Cass-ka-ree-yah” but other then that, fantastic video! 🥰 subbed!
Thanks. It is in Spanish. But I was saying it that way for my English viewers.

Hi, can I use coconut flour or does it have to be plain? Thanks in advance!
You sure can!
@@CalypsoQuestell Thank you!
nice video
Love this video. I have chickens and a duck. So I have plenty of white and Brown eggs. Definetly going to get the membrane out before crushing
we only use white in general, brown has a different vibration
@@sancista7crossroads83 thank you
In the UK we don't really have white eggs though 🤷 very rare to see them where I am atleast
Why add the flour? I plan on making some soon!
Great question! It works as adding ink to it. It makes it chalky
Eggs are life! I have them for breakfast every day with whatever else I'm in the mood for. Thank you for sharing this
My lord your so pretty
Thank you so much for this video! I saw another video that mentioned it and I was like, what's cascarilla? And it's so simple to make! Thank you again

love ur video ur very cute!
Thank you!
So is it bad if you don't take out the membranes? is it just you can't get as fine a powder and it's a little off color?
It bad. It congeals weird.
Do you have that membrane if you boil you eggs?
I am not sure since I have never seen it done that way. You can try and see! I just save the shells as I eat them.
Witchy hoodoo hoodoo hahaha I love you! Thank you so much for taking your time off to make this!
Haha that is what I call it!
You rock. Thank you.
Thank you Aisha...
