      According to GN the CPU mounting frame that doubles as the AIO mounting device is the problem. It does a horrible job at preventing bowing. They also saw some discrepancy in the AIO plate itself in terms of uniformity, this resulted it being a bad combo for the intel.

    • @sortac738
      @sortac738 6 місяців тому

      I would have liked to see a Gaming Performance for the lga1700 - since 300+ Watt is on the OC side, gaming normaly needs less like 250 Watt. Would be interesting to see. Since at AMD with lower Watt Level the LF3 performed really well. So I can imagine that at 250Watt with a 14700K the LF3 is more competetive? GN Review showed 58°C at 250Watt with 40db. So maybe rather to say its not got for intel u could say its not for Overclocking? At least thats what I got out from the GN review. Bens Hardware also tested at high end and had in 5 min with 100°C and thermal throttling still 320Watt intake of the CPU.

    If you want to know why it does not perform as well on Intel, see Gamer’s Nexus video on this. They concluded that the built in Intel contact plate could be optimized better to make contact with Intel CPU. I’m sure Arctic will follow their pattern of listening to user feedback and get on top of it pretty quick.

    I wonder if it will be a big upgrade from the Noctua 12a - air cooler (with a 7800X3D). It is beating the D15, but the one with a single fan tho. Double fan has better stats. There are newer air coolers that also beat the D15 with 2-3 lower temps too. The competition is never sleeping i guess lol.

The test results I would like to see are two AIOs from the same manufacturer, one with 360mm rad and the other with 420mm rad. Hi! I'm not KitGuruTech but I have the same motherboard and yes that heatsink WILL interfere with the tubing. Arctic offer a free replacement M.2 heatsink on their website if you send them the invoice for your mobo, or you could just not use that slot.
      If you do use that slot (even with a gen 3 or 4 drive) you will lose the x16 on the graphics card down to just x8. You should remove the heatsink entirely and forget about that slot.

    There is a thing I've never understood so far (yes I'm a noob): Arctic LF (II and III) seem to have so great performances but they're only 48 CFM and Pressure of 1.8 H2O.
    I was filling an Excel file comparing several AIOs and Fans (Lian Li, Cooler Master,Phanteks,Thermalright,Asus,EKWB ecc) and their Airflow and Pressure values are theorically pretty better.
    So, it's clear that there are other elements to take into considerations for which, Arctic is much better.
    Can someone explain this?

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  6 місяців тому +2

      A great AIO is usually a combination of a good pump, fans, cold plate, and water channel design. Which is why we find sometimes that just changing the fans has little effect on performance.

    • @inconvenientfacts58
      @inconvenientfacts58 6 місяців тому

      I was wondering much the same, as did a comment on GN's review. Steve also mentioned the pump, cold plate and radiator can do the heavy lifting. Which is good for users then in that we can choose fans that fit the aesthetic better.

    Hey. What should I buy in terms of noise? Currently, I have LF2 280 and at 30% speed, my 5800x3d has 60-65 degrees average. So Would it be beneficial to change LF2 280 to LF3 280 or even 360? Which one is more silent?

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  6 місяців тому

      You might see a benefit of upgrading to the LF3 280 or 360 on your 5800X3D at the same noise level but not by a huge amount. However the LF3 is on offer at Amazon right now so its the best time to buy if you are considering it.

    • @Varrkan
      @Varrkan 6 місяців тому

      @@KitGuruTech Thank you for the reply. But overall, would 360 be as silent as 280?

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  6 місяців тому

      @@Varrkan it depends, technically 2 x 140mm fans can move more air than two equivalent 120mm fans at the same RPM, so usually you can run 140mm fans at lower RPM to achieve lower noise. But the 360mm radiator will have larger surface area than a 280mm and one extra fan so potentially you have more cooling power there.

    • @Varrkan
      @Varrkan 6 місяців тому

      Oh, then its a tough question. Im concerned about noise only at idle. I play with headphones, so doesnt matter.

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  6 місяців тому

      @@Varrkan Just set up a custom fan curve in your motherboard BIOS/software which has the fans spinning at very low RPM when CPU temperature is below 60C. this will ensure that the cooler is quiet when the system is idle.

    I am a Big Fan of the White and they have 280mm model but have a wish list. I wish they didn't have all wires at the pump as I would prefer to have the fan cable at at the fans so If I wanted to change to different fans I wouldn't have to worry about the extra cable running along the motherboard to hide and easier to hide from the back. Another wish would be to have 4 mounting points to the CPU instead of 2 as Gamer Nexus showed the mounting pressure on AMD only runs across the middle and not to the entire CPU for better contact.

    • @TKIvanov
      @TKIvanov 6 місяців тому

      I don't get your "changing to other fans" point? You are welcome to do so and you can either connect the new fans to the connectors that come out of the tube sleaving (and power/control them via the connector that comes out of the pump, like with the stock ones) or just connect them to a mb header / fan hub.

    • @justatim8143
      @justatim8143 6 місяців тому

      Top AIO the fans are right at the connector to MB, Why would I run a fan wire from the CPU hiding it to plug in the top when all I would have to do is Just Plug It In and nothing to hide. I think that all the wires at the pump should run up the hose to the radiator and easy hide all cables from behind then short in the the MB. Great Idea but wired wrong way. You can wire the same on top, front or side and hide all wire behind the MB then short run back in to plug on top side or bottom of MB. @@TKIvanov
