I can tell by some of the comments saying it's still too loose that they don't understand the geometry of the swing arm's movement and how the chain will tighten when the suspension is compressed. Sure- go ahead and make it tighter and stretch the chain, wear out your sprockets and damage the output shaft bearing.

my mate put my chain back on recently and left my tensioners loose and told me to try it, next thing the chain comes off and cracks my engine including completely wrecking my crankshaft had to buy a new 125 engine because I had no clue or no one to turn to help me fix it. ALWAYS make sure these tensioners and tight and fit properly with no movement and check after and before EVERY ride!
Alright mate it's a cheap 1 off ebay. I got it a while back I cant remember price was about £20 but it looks better in person than on pictures. I got my eye on maxxis set for £75 I know these will improve handling massively.
Dude I'm no mechanic and I've just put together a 140cc THUMPSTAR.. There's a pin in the rear lock nut, do I pull that out before cracking it mate ??!?
Cheers I only really done this as when i plan to ride it lashes down too much. Buller refuses to ride when wet. I hope to ride this weekend if everywhere not like a swamp. I'm so annoyed wanna shred the 190 more, its gutting . So many plans and weather stops play.
MOTO MACHINEZ UK yeah its annoying because i love watching your videos, as i have no bike at the moment your videos are inspiring me to get another bike 😂 you and buller are so funny, keep up the good work bro
Hey, brilliant vid, my bike has an issue when accelerating up hill it jerks if you like. Thought it could be the sprockets but there only a couple of months old? Will tightening the chain help? Thanks again.
Hmmmm I cleaned it all out and degrease it. It had a ton of grease on it and still kinda does? It's reduced but not fixed the problem. Tension was pretty good like yours. The rear brake is causing some resistance but it seems to be more the chain that vibrates????
Wrenching tip a lot of people don’t know of grasp easily.... But I learned tearing down power transformers. When wrenching , flip the wrench over in the hand each time you perform a turn movement, the angle of a wrench is perfectly setup so that you can make the same degree of movement and if you flip the wrench over in your hand the wrench teeth align perfectly with the nut. This lets you eventually go very fast. This is becaus your not having to adjust the angle of the wrench to fit it on the nut, just flip the wrench over and you’ll see it slides right on . Also good for wrenching when you can’t see the nut.
I'm listening I shall try doing that, not sure there was enough room to spin completely but I'm not sure. My first lesson on spanner was never pull towards, learnt hard way there. Always push away. Cheers I will definatelty try this, good form etc...
Sometimes when i get to 4th gear in my bike (Apollo RXF, YX140 Motor) it kind of go blank for a second, kind of as if it was in neutral or as if the clutch was slipping (it doesn't slip at all when its actually in gear). Is it possible the chain is skipping? Only happens in 4th gear, rarely. Checked tension today and it seemed a bit loose, will adjust tomorrow
Could be a worn or damaged sprocket with teeth missing but weird how only happens in 4th. How used is it? Could be the 4th gear cog worn. Loose chain could be possible but I'm guessing not with those symptoms? Hope this helps
My M2R 125 chain came off yesterday and got all jammed up in the little cog, I got the chain back on properly but now when I push the bike the wheel locks up after a few seconds pushing it then unloosens then locks back up. Any suggestions what the problem might be ?
Is it better to adjust the tensioning on your chain when it's brand new out the box and tight? Or is it better left the way it is? It would be great to get some advice from you bro.
you absolute muppet! you need to keep the chain tight all the time. You need to tension it everytime its too loose. Especially when your buying a new chain.
@@motomachinezuk8786 its only getting tighter by a few mil and is only just noticeable tbh. I just got a new super stomp 125. Took it out for the first time on the weekend and the chain went slack. Thanks for the quick reply!

Geometry. It will tighten up when compressed. That's why slack is needed. But not too much that that it falls off sitting on it. Because gearbox is separate from the swing arm. Hope this helps

Could be yes chain should always be correct tension. Sprockets could be worn can but I doubt it. Maybe rear sprocket is loose 🤔.
Thanks, yes I took it apart and the front one is loose, also the air filter was clogged ill get back to you and let you know it it works👍

Hello m8, I heard best chain lubricant is automatic transmission oil.
Hello yes I tend to use transmission/gear oil and brush it on lightly to mainly keep the rust off

Sounds like you've kinked the chain possibly
If the chain is to tight in 2nd a 3rd gear when high reaving it skips like I'm on and the throttle jerking motion
Worn sprocket

Hey. My bikes chain seems to be making a noise against the chain wheel white thing. Any suggestions??
Thats ok it is only a chain guide just to keep inline. Sorry late reply only just seen
Bought a 1000w pit bike 2weeks back and chain making a noise, think it was too tight, will it be damaged now?
Won't be damaged but will need realignment and correct amount of slack. 1000w should not damage chain much

you absolute muppet! you need to keep the chain tight all the time. You need to tension it everytime its too loose. Especially when your buying a new chain.

Its stretched. Sometimes it's ok but if the tight spot puts pressure on sprockets it's not great.

Thank you glad you found it helpful mate.
It’s hard for me to believe that the chain should be this loose! I know ribbon tight is bad but juggling all over the place?
That loose is tighter than what it says in manual that's what I mean. All dirt bikes vary and my electric bike says 10 to 15mm slack, that is tight.
My chain keeps coming off any tips?
Need it tighter I think mate
MOTO MACHINEZ UK fixed it thanks 🙏🏾
Still looks too loose to me I think it should only move about a quarter of an inch to an inch

Just FYI, a cog is only one of several teeth found on a sprocket.
That chains to long that wants a link out
