Great video! I keep having problems with my chain making a clicking noise while giving it throttle while turning. Tried doing all these steps and shill having problems with it any tips?

This is important, I was a few miles out and chain came off and got cought in my front sprocket. Glad the cover was plastic because it moved and game it room to go somewhere and not make a hole. Now it's a little wiggly and if olave but its barely noticeable
oh dude same same thing happened to me coming down a small drop at end of trail locked up back wheel doing 50 chain got caught between front and rear sprocket. i was not fortunate enough to get it back on my chain was all bent and almost snapped. had to ditch bike and walk back 3 k to my truck..... it was sooo hot out too. this just happened this past weekend. Just put new sprockets new chain even new axle bolt all sprocket bolts were cheered off replaced those too i was about to go ride again and figure i need to watch a proper video on chain slack lmao before i screw myself again. Thanks again Broken Sprocket Ron From canada. ill try to post the pictures of the damage lol
How do you know where to put your three fingers on the swing arm for the chain slack measurement? If you were to go closer to the drive shaft three fingers wouldn't fit. If you were to go closer to the rear sprocket you could probably get 5 fingers in. Are you using the chain guide on the swinger arm as your reference point? Thanks!
you put your fingers right at the end of the black plastic chain guide on the top of the swingarm he actually mentions that in the video just re watch it and pay attention
P-BIZ , the tension is checked halfway between the front and rear sprockets. Which is prolly where the chain guide is. On some bikes there's a sticker as reference.
Growing up I have always sat on my bike and checked adjustment on chain, always 1 1/4-1 .5 inches of travel up and down on bottom section of chain, now everyone says get back tire off of ground and put 3 fingers under top section of chain, well just so you know it's the same either way, you can check it yourself, take back tire off ground and put 3 fingers under top of chain and then sit on bike and lift the bottom part, it will have the 1 1/4-1 .5 inches
It’s interesting most road and dirt bikes have block adjusters like shown, and all of my previous bikes have, but my current dirt bike (DRZ400) has snail adjusters, ie eccentric cam adjusters with preset dimples for the pins on the swingarm to engage with. Some people don’t like them, but they work really well and it’s super easy to get the correct alignment spot on. Thinking about it, we don’t need the infinite adjustability of threads when chains have ~10mm tension range, so I’m surprised snail adjusters aren’t more common.
I have an aftermarket chain on my xr100 when I have it under 2 inch of slack or 3 fingers. I have no free play. My chain needs to be pretty loose to have a good amount of free play?
hey man. what happens if that 10mm bolt will not budge, so much so that the wrench is slipping off. mine is an 04 rmz250 and i'm not sure it;s ever been adjusted. New chain so i want to get it adjusted right. thanks!
How do I start over with block adjusters should I screw them all the way in and then start backing them off or what cause him sure they been adjusted wrong and I'd like to get them back the same on each side I've got sdg speed mini 107

@@BrokenSprocket I went ahead and gave my self a little more slack and re adjusted everything it’s 4 fingers on the stand and when I sit on the bike it’s perfect 3 fingers.. eveything seems straight I measured the distance of Axel blocks instead of trusting my hash marks this time. How does that flash adjust work when we all have different size finger
does putting in really far in back makes the bike handle better?
