Best Live Band ever!!!!! More energy than any other band!!!!! Setlist with DY, Styx, Night Ranger and Ted Nugent songs was the best ever. Told Michael a few years ago before a Skynyrd show, he was very flattered!!!
I saw Michael in Tommy Shaw's solo band at the Mad Monk bar in Wilmington, NC, and got to meet both he and Tommy. Saw Damn Yankees a few times, and they remembered me, and coming next weekend, i will see Michael with Skynyrd. I wonder if he will still remember me? My guess is yes because Michael is not only a fatatic artist but an awesome person. Really down to earth and really rare among Rock Stars these days.
I loved him in Uprising too! He always had to make it a point to say how much younger he was than the rest of the band, like it was his running joke. 😂Seems like a funny and genuinely nice guy.
Despite not playing on any famous albums (other than be a non-band sessions musician or part of a studio creation,) I heard via Rockline (circa 1990) that Michael did tour with Ted and Tommy in the late 80s for their respective tours, which is why he became a part of DY. So despite being the "rookie" of the band, he seemed to nicely fit in with the more well-known veterans in the band. I think he also played with Alannah Myles and Kevin Raleigh's bands prior to joining DY.
Please Michael, Ted, Jack, and Tommy! Get back together for at least a tour and come to Dallas! Come anywhere in Texas or a neighboring state and I'm there.
Eddie Jobson, Ted Nugent, and Damn Yankees, is an eclectic & distinguished selection of musicians! And will have done no harm to his 'musical resume' at all!😊
it was great to meet Michael 32 years ago at a drum shop in Erie, PA. He was so kind and happy like he is in this interview. I just asked Ted to get back to the Damn Yankees now he has stopped touring. Seems like he has time now.
C’mon. STOP the teasing and just DO IT, PLEASE! Your fans never left, other than those who will be listening from the other side. Just DO IT for those of us who remain on the planet. We’re not getting any younger.
It's so simple to solve them getting together... You book a tour of Ted Nugent opening up for night ranger. Opening up for Skynyrd opening up for styx,.. end of the night The guys come out play three or 4 songs...
what a great band they were. only thing about the group live is ted over plays the entire show. i love the motor city madman no doubt, but he just doesnt have much finesse when it comes to background or accent playing. at least thats what ive seen on youtube vids. Rock on 🤘
the hairstyle nopt what I was expec ting. I am NOT hair shaming. It just isnt what id expect be that right opr worng. reminds me of someone far far different.
I got to see Damn Yankees in Salt Lake City around '92. Amazing show. Would love to see them reunite for a tour.
I saw the band in Salt Lake as well, I live in Pleasant Grove, Utah County
@@markbirchette8740 Haha. We're neighbors. I'm in PG too! 👍
I love this dude . The smash feel guy

Damn Yankees definitely took me higher back in the day. Glad I got to see them live!
Wow great band, I'd totally forgot about them. Their first album was killer

Loved the role he played in the band. A perfect fit to a fabulous band.
Mike fit like a glove in that band. Solid as they come and couldn't think of anyone else in that role (Also, he's great on the UPRISING video, lol)

That’s a great story. I seen them live and it was great .

@@timothyakus I lived there over 25 years after graduating from EUP. I moved back to Franklin 7 years ago. Love the country life here.
Mike is definitely not unknown! Ted, Jack and Tommy made their names with other groups. He has the chops to be in a headline band.
I was just talking about Michael the other day (with coworkers at my job.)
Come Again is an awesome song
Congratulations on hitting 18K!!😊😊
Thank you so much 😀
@@VRPRocks My pleasure! It's brilliant progress and much deserved! And thankyou VRP!!
I know a guy... and he knows this guy... and HE says Uncle Vito Cartelone made 'em an offer they couldn't refuse...
He can go solo as “Damn” of The Yankees.
DY needs a reunion
Have a Styx, Ted Nugent ,Lynyrd Skynyrd Night Ranger Damn Yankees concert
That would literally be the best concert ever.
No Brainer-Vegas Residency.
I heard that there is a third album that was never released.
It apparently never got past the demo stage, and it was supposedly radically different than the first two.
Eddie Trunk already established this in a previous feature.
The songs are good, just NOT Damn Yankees songs. The decided not to release it.
If one were to make a top 10 list of quintessential, vapid corporate rock bands Damn Yankees would definitely appear somewhere on that list.

Zinc is a great record.
Worked well because Michael became Drummer for Lynyrd Skynyrd too!
