    Ahh God I love him so much. Such an amazing drummer, such an amazing band! This setup is crazy 3 hihats? So clever :) I love Sweden!

    My favorite drummer, this guy has inspired my playing so much over the years. I got into Meshuggah when Chaosphere came out, New Millennium Cyanide Christ blew me away back in the day and I have been hooked ever since. I hope to see them live again some day, their live shows are incredible.

    *I love that he has a hihat just for the left foot “chick” sound. Most non-drummers don’t even notice that, BUT YOUR BRAIN DID!*

    Is he actually using a crash as a crash? What is this nonsense!

    • @SkJoey
      @SkJoey 7 років тому

      metalforever12345 Using rides as crashes is making so much sense in the case of tomas and the rest of the Band. They are much louder an durable but most important they cut much netter through the whole music and are more controllable as crashes

      @EEeE3771 7 років тому +2

      metalforever12345 I wouldnt call them durable, the thinner a cymbal is the more it flexes during a crash, which makes it not break as easily as heavy cymbals

    • @SkJoey
      @SkJoey 7 років тому +3

      EthT they are much louder and it is easier to "ride"..as much as you can call bashing on them riding...and in his case and style of music it makes sense. I had the chance to ask tomas about that after a show in 2012

    • @TunnelJumper

      Nice catch! He's my favourite drummer and biggest inspiration and somehow I never noticed.. I cannot count how many times my clutch has come loose in the middle of a song from the constant left foot eighth note stomping. If only I'd known to use a goddamn SECOND clutch as a failsafe!😆

      Chris L They are heavy. Danmar. Played his kit a week ago.
      He has Ludwig pedals right now. Before that Yamaha and Pearl before that. Always with rubber on the foot board.
