This is my snare, I use it as a crash.
i love that these are on all his videos 😂 this is an F-150 truck. i use it as a crash
Ahh God I love him so much. Such an amazing drummer, such an amazing band! This setup is crazy 3 hihats? So clever :) I love Sweden!
My favorite drummer, this guy has inspired my playing so much over the years. I got into Meshuggah when Chaosphere came out, New Millennium Cyanide Christ blew me away back in the day and I have been hooked ever since. I hope to see them live again some day, their live shows are incredible.
*I love that he has a hihat just for the left foot “chick” sound. Most non-drummers don’t even notice that, BUT YOUR BRAIN DID!*
Is he actually using a crash as a crash? What is this nonsense!
metalforever12345 Using rides as crashes is making so much sense in the case of tomas and the rest of the Band. They are much louder an durable but most important they cut much netter through the whole music and are more controllable as crashes
metalforever12345 I wouldnt call them durable, the thinner a cymbal is the more it flexes during a crash, which makes it not break as easily as heavy cymbals
EthT they are much louder and it is easier to "ride"..as much as you can call bashing on them riding...and in his case and style of music it makes sense. I had the chance to ask tomas about that after a show in 2012
Amazing kit
1:00 "Use it as a crash........."
You got it ?
Charles Phily ever heard of HHX Groove ride 21" ?
You have not understand the reference ;)
ok :)
@@CharlesPhily I know I'm 2 years late but what's the joke?
@@mortonmccain6487 He made a rig rundown about 12 years ago where he was like "yeah I have this this and this ride cymbals but I use them all as crashes.... I don't use a ride anymore in my setup" and people went ham in the comments
Notice he uses 2 clutches for his foot-hihat!! DAMN!!
Nice catch! He's my favourite drummer and biggest inspiration and somehow I never noticed.. I cannot count how many times my clutch has come loose in the middle of a song from the constant left foot eighth note stomping. If only I'd known to use a goddamn SECOND clutch as a failsafe!😆
Poor guy, I've seen him do a million of these fucking kit rundown things.
That he does, but he never goes into detail about the mics! I was quite upset at 2:17 when I first saw this video.
Lol he just grins and bears it every time too
That Artist Bronze snare is one heavy piece of gear. And it sounds like it ;) Pozdro666
he sounds a little like Louis C.K. haha!
Oh nooo... Can't. Un. Hear. It.
what's name of the stick's brand that he used :-?
Wincent, swedish brand.
So he elevates a floor tom and centers it, making it sort of a not floor tom. Makes sense.
looks like his beaters are set quite low?
Chris L They are heavy. Danmar. Played his kit a week ago.
He has Ludwig pedals right now. Before that Yamaha and Pearl before that. Always with rubber on the foot board.
@@jonskaery is he using Trick stuff now?
@@adamnesbitt11 He built a really nice hybrid of two pedals. Yamahas I think. Or perhaps Tama. They felt really good. Still with the Danmar beaters tho.
@@jonskaery does he use his old setup as a crash now then?
@@adamnesbitt11 😅
Haake using Tama pedals??
EthT I know right!!
Always changing it up!
Ludwig at the moment. And Danmar beaters
Very surprised he didn’t try the demon chain drive 3002C when the demon direct began feeling a lil light to him. Love the demon chain drive, 3002Cs
Larry Tate He did. I bought them from him. Don't use them though..
No word about the snare.... Sonor Artist Bronze?
Whuups, thx. Totally missed that by his way of just pointing at things and mumbling names.
Damn, he hardly has an accent.
Yeah when I first saw an interview with him I thought he was American. I never listen to Meshuggah.
He has a accent. Its american
@@battlebot521 two years late but he's swedish though?
My point is that Americans think they have no accent and Thomas sounds American @@russellstarmore4836
