    280g yam, cut into strips
    30g sole fish
    1 thumb-sized young ginger, sliced thinly
    2L water
    1 anchovy stock cube
    1 chicken stock cube
    300g Napa cabbage
    1 slab soft tofu
    2 tomatoes, cut into wedges
    1 tsp salt
    A few dashes of white pepper
    100ml evaporated milk
    350g fish fillet

    Hi Rolang, what is sole fish? Is it a sea water fresh fish, flat type? In Hokkian is it same to "Leng Cik?

      It’s Teochew, and called “teek poh”. Used commonly in Teochew cuisine to season seafood soup or meatballs because of its distinctive aroma and flavour.

    hi Roland will it taste the same if i add sole fish powder instead of whole sole fish,do we have to sieve it if sole fish is use instead of powder?

    Hi! Can we add a sour plum to this dish? The ones I like have an extra kick because of the sour plum, makes it extra yummy. If so, at which stage do we add it in, and how many to add?

      Yes, absolutely. We do that sometimes. You can crush up two in after you’ve added the water. Happy cooking!

    Is this dried or smoked sole fish? I noticed it was thin. Solefish here is thicker and fresh or sometimes frozen fillets.
