Great video Jeff I finally caught my first coyote ever here in West Virginia on New Year’s Day I have been at this now for 3 years and it finally happened Now I want to catch my second one.
Jeff, I was under the impression, you couldn’t use drags in Michigan, please clarify . Always enjoy your informative videos as well as your personality. Great job , Happy New Year.
Another great video Jeff! Quick question is you trapping bag designed for trapping or is it like a home depot/ Lowe's tool bag. I like the length of it. I'm getting tired of digging through my 5 gallon bucket to find what I need when I need something always seems like it's at the bottom off the bucket. Thanks
Hey Jeff love your videos and I just bought some soultaker, now its begin of season here in ny for us can I use soultaker or just during winter, should I stick to the massacre mouse bait?
Hey guys great vid! I have a question for you, I live in ND and have been trapping my property as needed based on the coyote population, when we get to many I trap and when the pop is normal I dont trap. We have a very large number of coyotes this year and I started trapping in dec. and got 6 coyotes no problem, then it started with blizzards, a lot of snow and temps way into the - negatives, we had a week where the high for the week was -19. I pulled all my traps for about 2 weeks and tonight started in again setting. Well the first thing I had to start dealing with was snow depth thats getting crazy and its been so cold and we have gotten so much snow that its still total powder, with oversize snowshoes I am still in over my knees, I just made two sets this evening and they both looked like total shit and I expect them to perform accordingly. Any brilliant ideas on how in the world I deal with all this snow? And all this snow is everywhere, tomorrow I will make some sets in the treelines between fields maybe the snow depth will be less there? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
Karl,I cant say I have a miracle cure for u.sometimes it's so tough in locations u have it's just not possible. I will say in deep snow I move onto the ice where the wind has blown it clear or less at least.
@@DunlapLures-SheTraps You are exactly right for now I need to get out of the woods, I checked traps this morning and based on how my sets looked I got exactly what I expected. The temp is the warmest today its been in a very LONG time I will leave the sets out and check again in the AM and with the better weather maybe it will harden up the snow at least a little bit?
Bait just when I set it unless I get a catch then I'll rebait.its all depends on the weather on lure.if it's raining I'll relure but generally all I do is given a shot of urine 1 time every 5 days or so if I'm using urine
Dunlap Lures , I use a lot of your lures, baits, and hot shots . I’ve been having a lot of animals (cats, Fox, totes) walk up to my sets but stop 3-4 feet away and move on. I don’t use the same exact combination at every set, but this seems to be a common occurrence this season. I’m very scent cautious, all traps are dipped in full metal jacket... what am I doing wrong? Or ami just dealing it’s educated animals?

Appalachian Mountains I hope you catch your first coyote I am beyond addicted to trapping I am obsessed with it I can’t get enough of it.
Awesome tutorial Jeff! Thanks for sharing. Also, when you get a chance can you do a video of your fur hat and the fur trim on your green coat.
Deffintly will.the coats on it's way to Alaska but I'll do it when I get up there for sure.the hats here so I can do that

On snares no drags but on traps u can
Happy new year
With the screen pan covers do you have to put a notch in for the dog? I am using mb550's. Thanks for the helpful video's.
Nope the ones I'm using generally have the slit in them for the dog.when I'm using wax dirt I'll most times use the hamburger patty wax paper sheets
Great vid, drags make it so much easier, where did you have your hat made, been loking for a person to make some mittens and hats.
Derek Grieve from Alaska made this one facebook.com/GrievesArcticWear/
Nice looking Steger boots...no doubt ,those are the way to go for warm feet.

Very informative video 👌🏼👊🏼
Thanks for sharing. Your dressed to impress my friend. Awesome lol
Another Killer video, Thanks
Do you wax the whole drag and chain or just the trap?
Just the trap.you could do it all
Saber tooth drags makes life so much easier
Yes they do
What kind of set would you recommend for summer coyotes? I have a guy who is asking me cause they got some of his chickens.
TheOkWoodsman flat set with food lure is what I use and a secondary set with food lure and a dab of gland lure
Thanks for sharing..I love that hat.

How long of chain on your drags?
10 ft coyotes and cats. 6 foot fox and coon
Great video! Thanks for posting it! New Subscriber. :)
How does scent post work with coyotes and what lure would you use for that.
ua-cam.com/video/Y6pZzanzaI8/v-deo.html
I caught a fox but it was setup for fox or coyotes
When you say people will steal it do you mean steal the coyote or steal the trap?
Also why do you trap on public land?
Good video👍
Steal everything. Because we have a million acres of public ground to trap
How frequently do your re-lure / bait your sets in the winter?

What type of sets R u using
Dunlap Lures, dirt hole sets, hay sets, and urine posts.
Jeff keeps the Anti trappers from seeing . I like your vids
Was that the set with exposed jaw you covered with snow.
No exposed jaw it had wax dirt on it
Great info, thanks for sharing.
Pro trick: watch movies at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Nickolas Gus definitely, have been watching on Flixzone} for since november myself :D
Nice video Thanks for sharing
Good catch jeff
Explain the reason for using a drag?
Not to tear up the set and so it’s not caught out in the open and be stolen
great video
Gotcha thanks
Great technique
