I sincerely hope none of those kids splashing around in that water, especially the ones who went under get sick. I do not want to imagine what is in that floodwater.

I miss this. When I was a kid in the 60’s I lived in Singapore for a couple of years and the monsoon rains were just like this, not as much flooding but it was very heavy, very wet and very warm and tons of fun to play in. The roads used to steam like crazy once it stopped. Great times!

When I was a kid, my neighborhood was like this flooding after every summer afternoon's thunderstorm. All kids were happy and playing in the water, but all adults were busy rising furniture and stuffs around 😆....Back to the time, the flooded water was clear that you could see through it

That is no worse than walking on the sidewalks after the rainstorms in California. We never got sick when we were younger. And we drank from a garden hose. And we were the generation of in-filtered well water. They are fine. Having fun is life!!!❤

these slums are built on top of hundreds of open sewage drains that carry human feces, urine and garbage out either to sea or sometimes to sewage discharge plants. But at this point the SEWAGE IS NOT CLEAN - ITS RAW! Those poor kids and people are waddling in that same sewage. Still smiling and laughing though. Its amazing what human spirit can do...
What your seeing is large amounts of water carrying HEP A in that water. This is quite different than our little floods in Cali. As a medical worker in Cal I see a lot of patients from south east asia including the Philippines for HEP A. Which is virtually non existant in our CA flooding streets. That is mixing with sewage and other toxins/chemicals as it makes its way to the ocean from the highlands. It aint a blocked drain backing up into the streets or a flooded backyard, and ya, i drank from the hose too, all good.
when i was a kid, when the rain is coming, all the kids in our neighborhood knows what our responsibilities are!, that is to have fun on the rain!

salamat kuya for the video, greetings from california, usa, my philippines visa approved! will be visiting in AUGUST for two months! I have told someone countless times that the streets need propper drainage system in place, to drain into the ocean, these floodings would dissappear.
I know a flood is a flood but darn for the kids that looks like a blast. Used to flood on a few roads by me when I was younger and could go swimming in it, was fun. Just a different level when youre a kid.

This video reminds me of 7 years ago in a neighbourhood in Kalimantan, where every time the rains came, it was always flooded, and even reached the height of an adult's waist.
Everyone who was affected by the flood was confused to evacuate to a safe place, but there were some children who used the flood as a water playground.
The flood that lasted for two days finally receded after one of the rivers in the area was cleared.

There were creek around the area but it always overflows. The flood will last for 2 - 3 hours once the rain stops.
