I saw on another video, that the guy tilted his ref with the back a little lower than the front so the door will close easily with gravity (left and right of refrigirator is equally balanced. At the same time I like your cheap and effective repair method. No need to call in a repair man! Thank you very very much.
This was suprr helpful! Thanks for including your troubleshooting steps that didnt work, because now im going to start with a spacer instead of trying to realign the hinges.
Same model as mine. If you look closely at the bottom hinge, you will see it probably bent from door weight and gallon jugs. I fixed mine the same way you did but it bent further so I replaced the hinge with a 90 degree 1/4'" steel angle and cut it to fit and drilled necessary holes in angle piece. 5 years later never had recurring problem.
Damn, that was easy. I was about take the doors off and adjust the tilt. (slotted bracket on upper door hinge of my GE) You saved me a lot of work! Thanks.
Had the same issue with my freezer door. I cut a piece of toilet paper tube, folded it couple times and sticked it in the hinge and voila, no more rubbing. Probably not a permanent solution so I'll look into the nylon spacer too.
Thank you. Maybe a spacer of either a different material, thickness, or narrower cut to slide it in would solve the problem. Best wishes. I hate my unit from the day it arrived and need to fix this same problem.
Probably due to wrenching the door because of that suction function locking the fridge shut temporarily, causing impatience when going back and forth to the fridge while cooking something. Like mine :)
FYI, your videos that use the same introduction have “production” spelled incorrectly. I figure you’re probably reusing things do it’s never fixed 😬 Ignore me feel silly mentioning but figured you may or may not want to fix so your next videos will be correct. Have a great day.
This is painful to watch. As a UA-cam university graduate, please know what your doing or at least state that your just going with it and have never fixed this issue before.
Your comment was painful to read. Why don’t you try uploading something in an effort to help someone else instead of just being some selfish anonymous Karen on the internet. 😬
My foster mum had this problem! She watched this video and now she can freeze her milk! Thank you for fixing our food problems!
thanks so much. a spacer solved my problem. No need to replace hinge or seal as I thought originally.
Awesome! Thanks for watching
Great video - spacer fixed it completely without having to take off the doors. Thank you.
Great. Thanks for watching!
This helped a lot. Easy way to keep my renters from complaining & keeping the beer cold! 😅
lol! Great. Thanks for watching

Great! More than one way to skin a cat! Thanks for watching!
All refrigerators are supposed to slant back so doors self close.

Thanks for the video-especially the bit about the cut-out notch on the washer. What size nylon washer is that?
Thanks for watching! I honestly don’t remember.

Used your video to repair my fridge, thank you so much from vermont!

Thanks science monkey! My mom has had this same problem with her pretty much brand-new fridge. Was able to fix it up in a jiff for her.
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
Did the spacer with the relief to just slide it in. Spacer just makes its way out after a couple days.
@@nickchrappa mine is still there after all this time
@@ScienceMonkey00 so either check the door cams or a spacer with no relief.

What was the size washer you used?
Oh man, I have no clue. I completely forgot.
Much appreciated, thanks for sharing!!
Will this have to be fixed again in the future

You just saved me £700, thank you
Great! thanks for watching!
Might have been more helpful to show close up what you're doing. But the video still helped.
Thanks for the tip! It’s tough trying to get the all the shots in. But I’m glad it helped!
kids: "😭 My markers!"
😝 thanks for the vid!
HAHAHA so convoluted, if hinge adjust doesn't work, take door off fit spacer without cutting it so it doesn't work itself out again. Refit door.
Damn I have the same fridge and the same problem, I'm guessing it's common with these?
It seems to be common enough. Pretty common design
So helpful thank you
Glad it was helpful!
It worked! Thanks for posting
I should add, all the screws were rust frozen but I was able to unfreeze them with some locking pliers. God bless whoever invented them.
Glad it helped!
Thanks I am getting ready to do mine. Can I have some of that watermelon you have there?
Lol. I’m all out!
Thank you

lol. Yes, it was a mistake on my first videos years ago, and I left it on purpose as a lil inside joke. Thanks for noticing and watching!
