Build Stronger and More Resilient Knees For BJJ

  • Knee injuries are very common in grappling and Jiu-Jitsu. Some of these injuries include damage to the meniscus (cartilage in the knees) and can occur from rotational forces.
    The knees are a hinge joint, however also have a rotational component and if you don't train the rotational component, then you will be more susceptible to injury.
    Check out the three exercises you can include today to build stronger and more resilient knees.
    The exercises include foot sweeps, isometrics, and banded exercises.
    2-3 sets of 5-10 repetitions.

    How about for patellar strains. I’ve had issues where my quads are tight and my knee started taking over the loads more. Any tips for strengthening that tendon area that patellar tendonitis can be around?

      @@TheJiuJitsuTherapistligament injury’s, I tore my left acl, it’s completely healed now but now I have injured a ligament in my right knee.
