Oh yea those teeth are in bad shape. Wow that plastic lasted 20 years. I can see why you didn't want to drill it that would be a lot of drilling. That tool cleaned up the magnet pretty good. Nice job brother.
The holes are not exactly at the 12:00 and 6:00 position. One set of holes may be at the 12:00 position while the second set of holes may be at the 5:00 position.
Hello Friend, I have a Craftsman 24 hp 45 " I need to change the flyweel but I can't find where to buy it, my part number is 691054, in the Briggs store they say that it is discontinued and I have only found the model that you show in the video... Will it be compatible and could I place that ? .... Thanks for your help.
It did not fit the other way because there are notches on the bottom side of gear that fit in between the magnets on the flywheel so it only lines up one direction.
My favorite part is where you beat on that pin so long that you got tired, then you sprayed it with wd40 or pb but didn't tell the audience that...or was that little puddle , sweat ? lol
Great video Andrew.. .

I'm curious if this would fit a 14.5hp briggs model 287707. Appears to be the exact same flywheel.
From what I seen it should

So what do if you only have 3 holes
Send it lol all jokes aside it should still work
Balance. The gear is balanced. That is why the holes are off...they want it installed correctly.
