@@TrailExpedition that’s awesome. Thank you. We were just up a few weeks ago and stayed at the Town house. That one is really nice but we would love to be by the water. Thank you!
Reminded me of an episode of Gold Rush considering all the macyvering you had to do. Looks like you know the trails on Drummond well. Which ones are the least muddy? Thanks.
Haha! Yeah we’ve been there several times. Pretty much all of the trails have mud on them, however, most of the mud/water holes have a hard bottom so it’s not hard to get traction. The Tank Traps area and a portion of the Tight Twisties is an exception to this.
cool vid what time of year was this trip. we are going in late sept early oct this year and im curious what the conditions will be like mud and water level wise.
That looks like so much fun! If you ever go near Indian river, you should try the two tracks there. May not be as good as this, but after a fair bit of rain, you can get in some quality mudding.
@@TrailExpedition some of the good ones I know are right off old onaway rd. Be sure to go after a heavy rain though, other wise it’s just dry dirt and sand pits. Takes a lot of rain to get them nice and muddy, but it sure is fun!
Great video , we love Drummond ,been going twice a year in either Jeep’s or rzr’s and we went up for the long weekend Oct 8th but I had the laugh a lil with the drone footage in the opening segment and Sunset Shores is where we stayed at this trip and loved it , loved the view and just how quiet it was. The outdoor shower was a topic of a few conversations.
That place had an outdoor shower? We totally missed that part, LOL! Yeah man, we’ve been going every year since 2015 and have no intentions of stopping. Love it up there! Thanks for the comment.
Very nice trip, when are you all going next I would love to make a trip with you guys. Just got back into a Jeep and the wife and I are planning several trips for our fun getaways..
@@TrailExpedition I'm in Howell Mi, if you guys are ever interested in having another tag along I have a 2018 jku and would be happy to wheel with you guys sometime
Karma. Looked to me like you violated the first T.R.E.A.D. principle: Go over, not around, obstacles to avoid widening the trails. You didn't even check first.
Yeah who is that guy not even checking. I bet he didn't even build that. Had some shop do it. Took it right back there and complains it was weak parts.
Very fitting for a jeep to break an axle day 1 😂 impressive work for recovering it.
Yeah it was a build he was wrenching on literally til the day we left. Drummond probably wasn’t the best place for a maiden trip 😆
What house was it you stayed at? Was it a Northern Properties rental?
It was called Sunset Shores and it is a northern properties rental.

@jms990304 northern properties has a lot of options for being on the water. It’s typically what we go with as long as it’s dog friendly.
@@TrailExpedition thank you for the info and keep up the good work on the videos. Completely enjoy them!
@jms990304 thank you for the kind words and encouragement 🙏
Good video.
Thanks! We’re heading back there again in another few weeks.

Beautiful family!

This trip was Labor Day weekend last year. We prefer going in the Fall as opposed to the spring. Have a great trip!

Good tip! Where exactly is the two tracks by Indian River?

Right on! I’ll have to look into it!

Can’t wait we are going for the first time this weekend!
You are going to love it! Just make sure you have some good recovery gear and go with somebody.
I enjoyed your video......never been there...
Drummond Island is hands down the best place to off-road and explore in Michigan. I highly recommend it. Just wait until the snow melts.
Skidding out on an old door was genius.
We got extremely lucky in finding it but it worked out perfectly!
Love DI❤️
Best place to off-road in Michigan hands down!
Dang now I see how xj's last so long that door was the mvp
Hell Yeah it was! Held up like a champ!
Is that a dana 35 rear axle
No, I’m pretty sure it was either a ford 9” or 8.8.

We typically go in the fall and the dates change accordingly to everyone’s schedules. This years trip is still to be determined.
Where at in Michigan are you guys from?
We’re all from the Grand Rapids area.

Sounds good 👌🏻

In his defense, all three lines could have been the original trail. They all looked about equal in size and difficulty.
I love going trail riding and avoiding every obstacle...lmao
Fake News! 😆

Wash off your hate!
Please stay away from Drummond Island.
Yeah, that is not going to happen.
