I Spotted Michael Landon on site at Children’s Hospital LA inside his highway to heaven trailer and I asked him for an autograph and he was so kind to give me one. I normally never asked for an autograph but he was someone special.

Thank you Jeff for another GREAT episode! Dan Blocker lived a block away from my mom's house in Northridge. We would see him at the grocery store, and I remember him as a polite, soft spoken, kind "gentle giant." I was saddened to hear of the passing of your wife. May I offer my sincerest condolences. Paul
Jeff, you are a lot like me. I was born in 1961 and can relate to your love of history and enjoyment of entertainment history as well. Just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your videos. We are “ getting old “ now. Our time is passing way to fast these days … And they keep going quicker!!
It's really cool to learn the difference between the signatures.I am 63 years old and to this day consider Michael Landon as one of the my most favorite of actors ever and I truly feel that Highway to Heaven was the most perfect roll for him and mr.frenchs caught their true essence on them both for sure.thank you for caring enough about them to show us true fans the truth
I met Dan Blocker when he came to the ranch were we bordered our horses to film a Chevy truck commercial in 1968. He was the nicest most down to earth man. Very nice guy. I was so sorry that he passed at such a young age.
I bet he was a very nice man! He seemed that way. Some celebrities you can just tell if they are genuine or not. Slim Pickens was the same way -- a gem of a human being!
@@jbenziggy my father knew Slim Pickens. He bought a horse from h I s daughter Maggie, back in the day. My Dad said that Slim Pickens was a nice guy, no Hollywood phony in him, a real cowboy actually. My Dad was real upset when Slim Pickens passed in the early 1980's.
I was born in 1957 so yes I loved Bonanza and Michael Landon as Little Joe. This video was very informative. I bet the constant attention that movie stars get is a less liked side of fame. Another excellent video, Jeff.
That’s really sad that fake signatures are authenticated to fans and costing people money. Your letter is really cool. I was born in 72 and grew up watching Michael Landon. I’ve always enjoyed all of his work. I’m happy you got to meet him.
We are Michael Landon fans. I’m so glad you got the real signed autograph. I hate those fake ones. Some people have their nerve. Thanks for your hard work. 👍❤️
Thanks for sharing these memories and tips on celebrity autographs. A friend of ours used to be a nanny/housekeeper for Michael Landon & his wife in the 1980’s. He was very generous with her and her son to the point of lending their Mercedes Benz car for her to drive around and treating her son to going to Disneyland with his family. They were very caring, down to earth people with my friend and her son. Thanks again. ❤️🙏🏻🎥😎
Jeff, you are the most good and decent man I've seen in years. You're dignified demeanor sets you apart from all the fakes out there. I thank God for people like you. You renew my faith in mankind
I loved Michael Landon also Jeff….he was the best actor, and I cried when he passed away. His childhood was so bad for him. That last pic you had of him in the car, you thought was maybe his last, he looked really thin and not well. I think if a fan writes to a celebrity, they should expect an authentic signature. Of course someone really famous might not have alot of time to do that. So the assistants and secretaries did the best they could I guess. Really enjoyed this one, thx!
Wonderful comment to read, Sherry! I understand that Michael’s mom had mental issues and tried killing herself and he had to rescue her. What a horrible thing for a kid to endure!
This was so AMAZING to listen to and watch. Thank you for sharing this, I truly enjoyed it! It's so awesome that you got to meet Michael and have his real signed signature!! 💙
I grew up with "Little House" every Sunday night. It was always like the end of our weekend. But it was always a good end. Michael was like the perfect father in my mind at that age. He was firm, loving and fun. I always think he was exactly like his character. He was taken too early but I know he's looking down from Heaven!
if I go to a shoes shop, I expect to buy a pair of shoes, right, the same thing to autographs. I expect the celeb's signature, not the creativity of a random person. If he/she can't sign it to me, then the secretary should write down something like ''sorry but it's not possible at this moment''. This is honest and fair. Great vid, thank you Jeff!
One quiet morning at Disneyland many years ago, my wife, young daughter and I wandered in an area near Sleeping Beauty Castle when suddenly there he was…Michael Landon! There was no one else nearby! He greeted us like friends! What a wonderful memory!
Thank you, Jeff! I was a fan of Michael Landon and still enjoy seeing him on reruns of Bonanza. I would rather not receive a reply from an actor than have something sent to me signed by the secretary. I want the real thing! Side note, my mom died of pancreatic cancer in 2018. All cancers are bad, but pancreatic is just brutal with a very low survival rate. Enjoyed your video! 🇺🇲🚜👍
My daughter is a Massage Therapist, a client of her’s had been struggling with a cough and upper back pain for about a year. Something shifted and her doctor finally ordered a CT scan. She had pancreatic cancer, and I don’t think she made it even two weeks. It was horribly painful to her fam, and friends. Her children were just in their mid twenties. It is the worst. I am sorry you lost your mom, sending comfort across the internet.
Landon is seriously one of the biggest legends in tv because of his three big shows. Thats a very exclusive club. Great video with deep insight. I love history and i have a modest autograph collection so this is my type of content. Keep it going!
I was a fan of Michael Landon back in the 70s and 80s when his shows originally aired and remember watching all of them. I remember his passing from pancreatic cancer. Ironically a friend of mine just passed away earlier this year from the same cancer that took him also in three months. Please make more videos like this one from the stars of our time!!
Loved Michael Landon, such a lovely person and of course a fantastic actor. Yes I agree with you about the signatures, I feel its quite an insult to sell a fake for all that money. Thank you Jeff for a wonderful video.
I stopped watching Bonanza when D.B. died. Even today the reruns without him do not interest me. Because of my administration for M.L. I watched all of Little House. When he passed it was such a loss and I was greatly saddened. He was the best and in my opinion he stood for kindness to others. You are very fortunate to have that letter. Thanks for sharing this is a great episode.
I remember going to some of the Bonanza movie sets and marveling at how tiny Michael Landon's costumes were. Thanks for all the info in this video about the authenticity of celebrity signatures.
I liked the whole video! I loved learning about the real signature. You and I grew up in the same years, so yea, I appreciated Michael Landon’s approach to wholesome programming. Of course, none of us are perfect, so no one should expect he was. Great actor!
My neighbor worked for Landon for ten years. She has some great photos, home videos of cast parties, and some lovely birthday gifts from him. As she said, he was a man with much talent, with gifts and flaws like everybody else. She loved him and his wife Lynn very much. I have been into the fake autographs scam for a long time. Glad you warn people!!!
Your unique ability to bring facts to life is very refreshing. Watching you navigate truth is awe inspiring and it puts that part of mysteries to an end. Any one who watched Bonanza admired every actor that played in that series. Detail, research and fact for me is your mantra because what you continue to teach us no longer clouds the truth. Thx
Really enjoyed your expose'! I have to share my Michael Landon moment: For some reason, Landon, Dan Blocker and Lorne Green were at an event at the old state fair grounds in Sacramento circa 1962 I think . My grandmother drove me and some of my friends down to see them. I got a kiss on the cheek from Michael Landon--talk about every 12-year old girl's fantasy! I remember it like it was yesterday (and I'm in my 70s now)! I was obsessed by Bonanza then and never missed a show.
Your story is a little similar to mine. When I was 14 my friend and I went to Crescent Park in East Providence RI. We were walking around and who came walking towards us??? Bobby Rydell. He gave us both a kiss on the cheek. I will always remember that and just like you I'm in my 70s.
So good you included your baby son in the photograph with Michael Landon. Sometimes we learn from our parent’s mistakes on how to be better parents. As always great work Jeff!
You are obviously passionate about this particular subject, well done! Truth needs to be held in higher regard than it currently is.Thank you again for your honesty and integrity!
Thank you for helping fans possibly not get duped into spending hundreds on something completely worthless. I think the people who took over for Bob Ross sort of did the same thing. They have fake paintings that they pass as real (but done by instructors). I recently started watching "Little House" because I was bored and ended up liking it. Thanks again for another wonderful episode.
So exciting!!!! Here's to 100K!! Excellent episode with a very thorough investigation into signatures. He was quite a guy...as are you, Jeff! It's all about integrity...those who do it for gain will always lose...karma. Loved seeing your gram and baby with your first wife (may she RIP), you have a wealthy history and great memories with those you loved and admired. 🙏🏻❤
Always enjoyed Michael Landon as an actor. Sitting with my grandfather watching Bonanza. Then later Little House & to cap it off Hiway To Heaven. Who could forget that laugh of Mr.Landon. Victor French was in all 3 of those series, which made them so good together. Jeff, when you are passionate about something as you are, it kind of shows how you admire & respect the history of great film stars as Michael Landon.👍👍👍👍👍🤠🇺🇸
Really good piece Jeff. Enjoyed it very much. Years ago I wrote to Mr. Landon right after he started his production company about a story that I thought may be in his wheelhouse. A well known hobo at the time by the name of "Peg Leg Locke" spent a portion of the year here in Paducah, KY, and most of the time could be found in the rail yards close to my home. Peg Leg was a colorful person with great local interest and always lived year round outside in a large cardboard box near the tracks. So by contacting Mr. Landon I thought that he may want to film a story here. Several weeks later I received the signed form letter that you showed thanking me and that was it. Never heard anything more. . .
Watch many of these shows in reruns. When Highway to Heaven first aired I had just turned 11 and diagnosed with brain cancer. That show helped me keep the faith. Thanks for sharing 💞
Michael Landon was one of my favorites growing up. His work had an uplifting quality to it. Thanks for sharing your experiences Jeff. I had autographs on a Celebrity golf tournament back in the 70s. Bob Hope Jack Lemmon to name a few. Don’t know whatever happened to it.
Hello again, Jeff. Good vid and solid info...there ARE a lot of forgeries out there... Good job !!! Sometimes I'll tell you about meeting Lorne Greene while boarding at McLaren Las Vegas years ago...if you're interested. I NEVER ask for autographs, but this was an exception...it wasn't for ME... Good job on the vid !!! Well done, thorough.
We absolutely love your content and the passion is evident in all of your segments, keep up the good work! And Sarah looks great! She needs more exposure on the channel too!!
Another great video. Amazing that you were able when younger to collect autographs/letters that mean so much today. And Michael Landon was a great actor. Forgeries are galore with famous people autographs. I had a second cousin (Stan Musial) and his autograph is being forged at a large level today since he is gone. Should be a crime. Keep up the good work and congratulations on passing 100K soon.
My film/TV actress Auntie Gloria worked on an early episode of "Bonanza", so she got to work alongside both of them. Before that she appeared on an installment of another western TV series, "The Restless Gun", where Blocker portrayed her big, brawny beau. BTW, she also performed w/ Johnny Carson on his mid-'50s TV program.
Your auntie is Gloria Talbott! What a wonderful, talented actress! A great favorite of mine! Would love to hear anecdotes. She was great opposite Grant Williams ("The Incredible Shrinking Man") in "Escape to Ponderosa" during BONANZA's first year.
@@BONANZAVENTURES Ah yes, I certainly recall that episode as well. Of course, she also appeared w/ GW in the great campy and cheesy "The Leech Woman", the fourth and final outing of her "scream queen" vehicles. But the Western genre had to have been her primary forte, plus she really was an expert equestrienne, so she was perfectly well suited for performing all those various roles.
Jeff, I met Pernell Roberts in 2006 and he indicated to me that he felt he was more of a close friend to Dan Blocker. I think it is very sad that people take advantage of people's ignorance on people's signatures. I used to collect baseball signatures years ago as a boy and when I saw some of them at shows later on I know what you're talkin about; I knew they were fake. Especially when I actually like you did talk to the people and they actually signed them in front of me. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise and I did like Michael Landon but I will tell you that Pernell Roberts was a real Class Act, when he came to my home when I lived in Dearborn, MI to see my mom. He did not go inside because my mother had just had cancer surgery and he was afraid he would tire her out. Both actors were a Class Act and I really thought people like Pernell Roberts really was Adam.
Very cool. How did Pernell know your mother? I heard that Pernell felt Bonanza was cheesy and beneath his talents as an actor. Apparently he felt he was made for greater roles in TV. Any insight?
@@jbenziggy when I was visiting the Henry Ford Estate where I used to work my friends had allowed me to have lunch for free. They had paid for my lunch because they knew my mom was so sick I wasn't eating. So I met Pernell Roberts at the Henry Ford Estate with his friend who actually was a writer for Have Gun Will Travel which I found out after he died. So I told him how sick my mother was which I did not know Mister Roberts was also sick from cancer. So when I told him how bad my mom was, and was a fan he asked for my address and he found my home and came to the home. Now the one thing I think is interesting Jeff is that Mister Roberts did not tell me he hated Bonanza. He really enjoyed Bonanza he told me and he stated to me that he missed it along with Dan Blocker. He also stated to me that he enjoyed Westerns so maybe that was a comment he made many years ago but his attitude towards Bonanza changed very drastically. He also indicated to me that he was not real friendly with Michael Landon I don't know what the problem was and I didn't ask.
Jeff, thank you so much for this sensitive and moving episode. Michael Landon was always a favorite of mine, from Bonanza to Highway to Heaven. He was hilarious when he appeared with Johnny Carson. Thanks to your hobby of writing celebrities, we are able to see them as people.
I appreciate your very nice comment, David! Johnny Carson was great at bringing out people's real personality and Landon always seemed at home on his show. I sure miss both entertainers!
Grew up watching Bonanza and Little House on the Prairie and love Michael Landon. By the time Highway to Heaven came on I was in college and working evenings. I’m so bummed that Michael Landon was filming an episode close by and I missed it! Your baby boy is adorable. Thank you for the episode and keep ‘em coming.
I live in Waterford moved here two years ago best little town I've lived in.. Loved the video. I grew up watching him on all his TV shows. I learned more about Michael Landon watching your video then I ever knew before. Videos like yours showing behind the scenes brings the stars down to a human level. It's nice to know that they are just regular people doing a job we're the ones that glamorize them.
I really enjoyed Michael's work. I too was so sad when he became ill and passed away. Thank you so much for the information about his autographs. Love your video content.
3:59 ML/em at the bottom of your letter--'em' represents the initials of the secretary who typed your letter. It is lovely that he signed it...the mistake in the typeface--that letter 't'!--takes me back to the days (1975!) when the 'X' key on the new-fangled IBM Selectric typewriters was GOLDEN, and added hundreds of dollars to the price of that time-saving machine.
Just found your channel. I wanted to see what you had to say about ML. In 1976 I participated in the California pageant for Junior Miss scholarship competition. Michael Landon was the MC. He was also a judge for the interview portion. The thing that impressed me the most was how easily he put us at ease. He also had an amazing head of hair! He was genuine and extremely likable. PS I came in 8th for the state of California. I was very happy to be in the top 10 😊
Thanks for finding us and for sharing your impressions of Michael Landon! What an experience! He is one who we could use today as TV is just becoming rotten! And yes, the Michael Landon hair was quite something to admire! I wish I could grow a head like that today! But if he were alive today, would he be keeping it short? We will never know!
Hello Jeff, greetings from Hong Kong. I have just now come across your video which I find most interesting and informative. I would like to share that I watched a lot of US TV shows, including Bonanza, while growing up. I wrote to Michael Landon and received a picture postcard of the Bonanza stars, minus Pernell Roberts. This was after PR had left the show. Over the years, I wrote to many stars and was lucky enough to have received personal letters (some handwritten) and personally autographed pictures from most of them. They are among my most prized memorabilia. You were very lucky to have met ML. I also enjoyed watching LHOP and Highway to Heaven. I now watch Bonanza on UA-cam and I must say that I also enjoy Pernell Roberts' excellent performance as Adam. All the best to you.
Hi Virginia! Nice to hear from a Hong Kong fan! We loved Bonanza and all of Landon's TV shows. How do you feel about the political situation with China?
Jeff, this was very interesting. I'm so glad that getting autographs has been your lifelong passion. This Mike Landon video was really very informative... another great one 👏👏☀️🤠
It is amazing to me to see the access you obtained to various public figures. The letters that you received from your inquiries too! You had/have tenacity and a way with people I think. Thanks for the video. ☺️ Michael seemed like a kind person and a pro at giving the audience quality programming.
"Bonanza" was a huge hit in Australia. It was one of a few westerns they re-ran here during the day (mostly afternoons) during th 1970s and 1980s. Thanks for the interesting look at the autographs.
One of Michael Landon's ranch houses is just down the road from my place here in Chico CA. Big house and beautiful acreage. Meet him once will at a friend's place that worked as a stunt performer back then. Really nice person.
Jeff, you are right Actors and Actresses should sign their photos and not other do their signing for them. There are so many fakes and repro of things out you need to be real careful. I am glad you did a long video on this subject.
Awesome and informative vlog Jeff, thanks for all you present to us. It's great to be made aware of these fake autographed photos and scripts. I remember meeting our 40th president Ronald Reagan as he traveled through our little Novato town in Marin. He signed the back of his bumper sticker but I don't know where it ended up. I look forward to your Sunday vlogs, keep 'em coming!
Great job. Growing up everyone LOVED Michael Landon - especially the girls. It amazes me you had the forsight to approach him in person. Although I did not watch Little House or Highway to Heaven at the time, I have grown to like them in syndication. Also his before Bonanza credits are noteworthy - Cheyene, The Rifleman, Wanted Dead or Alive, GE Theatre , etc. His movies were entertaining as well. He was the albino in "God;s Little Acre" (classic watch) and Teenage Werewolf (which also starred Guy Williams as the cop). His Tonight show appearances can be found on UA-cam. He was also on Hollywood Squares and sang on Dean Martin & Hullaballo ! Finally, his made for TV movies were also enjoyable - "Where Pigeons Go to Die" w/ Art Carney and "Sam's Son" w/ Eli Wallach. They put out an album of Bonanza songs - one actually has the lyrics to the Bonanza theme!.......
I grew up watching Little House..I still watch it. Michael Landon was a very good actor. I remember when he passed away, it was like losing a family member. I enjoyed your videos..Thank you
The letter that was 1st written to you in 1975 was the day after they finished shooting the 1st season episodes of lhop. They also celebrated Karen Grassle's birthday on set
This is my first visit to your channel. I’m a new subscriber as well. This was a great video! I got to work with Dan Blocker’s son Dirk on a film called “The Border” starring Jack Nicholson. Dirk looked just like his dad and was as sweet and genuine as his father. Thank you for a great video.
Welcome aboard! Glad to hear from a new subscriber who likes our content! The entire Blocker family seemed like really genuinely nice people! Out of curiosity, what was your role in the production of The Border?
@@jbenziggy I’ve heard very wonderful things about the Blocker family as well. I was first hired as a stand in for Valerie Perrine but they realized I was 2 inches shorter than Valerie so they hired an acquaintance of mine name Kenna Esperson for VP stand in and made me an extra in 3 scenes. I was lucky enough to meet many of the actors (even Jack Nicholson, ValeriePerrine, Harvey Keitel & Dirk) filming and due to my friendship with Sandy Maltz casting director. The movie crew even rented my dads beat up 4 wheel drive for hauling equipment around in the desert of El Paso Texas. It was a really cool experience I’ll never forget.
Jeff’s my forest gump….your a Star ⭐️. excuse me I’ve just been binge watching your videos 😂😂😂😂 you always inform me with great info & knowledge thank you!!..
I recently had my gallbladder out and learned at the time that sometimes there can be complications. I was sad the day I learned that Dan Blocker died. At the time it was rumored that he had died of a heart attack. In either case, it was such a tragic lost. I also remember how heartbroken I was when Michael Landon died. I love all the autographs and pictures that you have collected. I also like that you did extensive research regarding the authentic vs. the fake autographs. If it's not the real deal why bother? I followed Michael Landon's career from Bonanza, Little House, Highway to Heaven all the way to the pilot of the series that he never got to finish called "Us".
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed my presentation on Michael Landon! He was one of a kind and sorely missed! Yes, surgeries can all have serious complications. I had a good friend go in for a routine surgery and he died on the table. None of us have tomorrow as a guarantee! So happy that you were a devoted fan of his!
I have always enjoyed watching Michael Landon and still watch him every morning when I get home from work. I work nights, get off at 0600 and if I go straight home I catch the last half of Dr. Quinn medicine Woman and then an hour or so of Little House. Then I flip the channel over to watch a couple of episodes of Touched by an Angel. It doesn't get much better than that in my opinion. And I have always enjoyed watching anything Michael Landon did and always will. Glad you got to meet him. I have never been an autograph collector, but last month I just had to send Carol Burnett a birthday card and letter. She really is the Queen of Comedy and a pioneer for Female comics and in my opinion she never really got the recognition she deserved for that. I asked for a photo print and possibly a autograph to pass onto my granddaughter. She is very young but when she starts to come visit and stay weekends with her Grandma, I plan on introducing her to Carol Burnetts comedy, it's hysterical, clean and wholesome. I don't know if I'll be sent anything, but I did send her publicist a letter requesting it along with an self addressed envelope for a return photo in addition to sending $5.00 for any additional postage if needed.
Very interesting! Can't wait to check out more! I was a fan of Michael Landon, but mostly Little House, as I read all the books numerous times as a young girl.
Hi Sarah and Jeff thank you for the wonderful information about Michael Landon I thoroughly enjoyed it. And I've always loved him and his acting and Bonanza. I was like 2 yrs old when Bonanza came on the TV. But I do remember the music at 2 yrs old. Then as I got older I still have not forgotten it. In fact they play reruns a lot on TV and of course I have to watch it. I also like little house as well. Such memories for you and getting the special letter from Micheal now that is a treasure to keep. I loved your pic with him as well so sad about him tho but my mom and me we always watched johnny Carson show and I remember that last visit he did on the show. So sad. And to answer your question what do we think of celebs and their fake signatures I really think it's disrespectful when they sent a photo and they're fake signatures yes I think it is very disrespectful thank you Jeff for the very very nice video that you did with Michael and and I really really enjoyed and to see his letter that he wrote to you such a special treat for you take care and God bless. 💯❤️🙋
Thank you for another great video! Michael Landon was always one of my favorite actors. I never missed an episode of "Little House On The Prairie" or "Highway To Heaven". I was saddened by his passing.
Great video on Michael Landon. I liked both “Little House” and “Highway to Heaven”. My wife and I were on vacation in Washington DC when we saw on the evening news that he had passed away. Very sad. I’m glad you called out all the fake autographs that are out there. Unfortunately it’s a big business and a lot of unsuspecting people like myself are victims of autograph fraud. Keep up the good work!
@@jbenziggy I bet that didn't end well for you! Abe was a 2-time NWA Champion, infamously beating Ric Flair at the 1st Starrcade in a controversial finish after Bret Hart restarted the match.
I was a huge fan of Michael Landon, there are a lot of actors who don’t like to sign their autographs. Rock Hudson was another very famous actor, he was a star but didn’t like to sign autographs for people. It makes it more challenging that way to have to really look for one. Thanks for sharing this! ☺️
Very interesting and informative. The best part was sharing your lifetime of memories. Of course we loved all of Michael Landon's shows! ~History geeks living in a 250 yr. old home in NH
Really liked those programs back in the day especially Bonanza, besides we only had 3 channels back then...thanks for the wayback machine, it brought back some good memories!
Thank you Jeff for another great video! You know what is worse than having received a fake autograph? The answer: not receiving an autograph at all. During the years I have had autographs written by ex-racing drivers right in front of me (even F1 World Champions and drivers who have since passed on), however I ordered an autograph of the legendary Formula One and Ferrari driver Gilles Villeneuve from one of my acquaintances, who is also a racing 'enthusiast'. It's been something like over 20 years now since I bought the autograph; do you think it is still in the mail? 😂
Oh man.....what great video!! Love all of my Landon shows.....you were so lucky to have met him and to be on the Highway to Heaven set.....that would've been so cool. Love all of those authentic auto's.....thanks for exposing the fakes.😎👍
Hot cup coffee and a rainy California morning with Jeff about one of my favorite actors. I was a fan of Bonanza and Little House. I visited Laura Ingals house in Missouri in 2009. I didnt know about all the local areas where Michael was filming in. I would visit Tulloch Lake and La Grange growing up in Waterford. My father remarked one day he saw Michael Landon "Little Joe" going through Oakdale one day. Great video Jeff.
Aw, what a wonderful letter. "Little House" was my favorite show as a child. "Bonanza" was just slightly before my time but I got to see the Ponderosa filming location in Nevada when I was young. My grandpa worked very briefly as crew on the "Little House" pilot but thats all I know. Michael, like Dan, left us much to soon.
When I found out that Michael Landon had Pancreatic Cancer I saw an address in The National Enquirer to write him . I wrote a 4 page letter thanking him for 10:31 Little House on the Prairie and how much I loved it and him.❤️

Now you can quit your job and travel the country doing videos ! LOL love what you guys do.. THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA... PS. When I worked as a Background Artist on the Highway to Heaven I learnd what a truly good fellow he was. He told his crew to " NEVER" CALL BACKGROUND EXTRAS PERIOD. He considered it disrespectful and degrading. He said it before shooting began each time I was booked on the show. On one occassion, an Asst. A.D. snapped his finger at somebody and Michael saw it spun around and dimissed the guy from the set. Some 30 years later I would work on Scounts Vs. The Zombies which his son directed and he too, is just like his father and all about respect.
I don't like long videos but Michael Landon it could be an hour longer and I'd watch every second and rewind some like I did here and I'll be back to watch it again within the year. I love Michael Landon, Bonanza and Little House on the Prairie. I wish I had lived back in the 1800s because of these shows and movies.
I Spotted Michael Landon on site at Children’s Hospital LA inside his highway to heaven trailer and I asked him for an autograph and he was so kind to give me one. I normally never asked for an autograph but he was someone special.

Thanks, Dan! It was definitely a highlight of my young life!
I'm a big fan of Michael Landon and his work. He was a class act!
do some research not true.
Jeff, you are the most good and decent man I've seen in years. You're dignified demeanor sets you apart from all the fakes out there. I thank God for people like you. You renew my faith in mankind
Wow, William. You flatter me for those very generous remarks. Thank you so much!
@@jbenziggy well Jeff the truth is the truth. It takes a lot to impress an old cuss like me but you certainly do. Stay safe my friend Bill feilhauer
My youngest son who is 40 is named after michael, I absolutely loved little joe and hoss! I still watch bonanza, it's my all time favorite show
The shows of my childhood. Sad that the majority of these stars passed young, but we will never forget them. Great story!
You are so welcome! I see you are a big fan!
Yes! 😁💙
@@lilolmecj Thank you, Carole! 🙏
Awesome! Thank you! I agree! His TV was family friendly, unlike the crap on TV today!
Congrats Jeff and Sarah on reaching 100k subscribers!
Thank you!!
Thx
Congratulations on reaching 100K subs Jeff! Well deserved and long over due!!
Thank you very much, Steve! It took forever…. 🤣
Absolutely!! Thanks Jerry! I wanted that experience for my kids!
You are obviously passionate about this particular subject, well done! Truth needs to be held in higher regard than it currently is.Thank you again for your honesty and integrity!
Thank you kindly!
I'm 58, so I grew up with Bonanza and Little House. I remember the shock of Dan Blocker's death. Great video.
Thank you! I am a bit older than you. Your comment is much appreciated!
Great video. Always loved Michael Landon, Victor French and Dan Blocker. RIP. So glad you showed the real deal compared to the fake signatures.
Another GR8 HH vid! You've had some great adventures Jeff! Very cool!
So exciting!!!! Here's to 100K!! Excellent episode with a very thorough investigation into signatures. He was quite a guy...as are you, Jeff!

Awesome Jeff! I loved little house on the prairie so much. Congratulations on 100,000 subs🎉

Loved Michael Landon and all his shows and him as a person, Thanks
Hello again, Jeff. Good vid and solid info...there ARE a lot of forgeries out there... Good job !!!
Sometimes I'll tell you about meeting Lorne Greene while boarding at McLaren Las Vegas years ago...if you're interested. I NEVER ask for autographs, but this was an exception...it wasn't for ME...
Good job on the vid !!! Well done, thorough.
We absolutely love your content and the passion is evident in all of your segments, keep up the good work! And Sarah looks great! She needs more exposure on the channel too!!
Thanks so much!
I've said more than once that Stan is being forgotten about in the modern baseball convo about the greatest hitters.
@joelhurley2678 Reports state that he made negative comments about Landon and Green. He disliked the fsct that Green was the patriarch of the family.
I've never collected autographs, but found this episode very interesting - well done! I was a Landon fan in my younger years as were many of my peers.
Landon was ever present on TV for decades!
His signature did evolve but when you said look for the flattop B in Best Wishes, BOOM..authentic! Super interesting, Jeff! Thanks!!
Yep, and if you study his autograph as I have done, you can spot a fake within seconds! Thanks, Ralph!

I really enjoyed Michael's work. I too was so sad when he became ill and passed away. Thank you so much for the information about his autographs. Love your video content.
Thank you very much. I just felt like I needed to share what’s going on with his autograph, or shall I say fake autographs being sold.

It is amazing to me to see the access you obtained to various public figures. The letters that you received from your inquiries too! You had/have tenacity and a way with people I think. Thanks for the video. ☺️ Michael seemed like a kind person and a pro at giving the audience quality programming.
Loved all the Bonanza guys. Thx for sharing 😊 Lots of interesting information.
I am a big Reagan collector! Thanks for sharing your experience!
I enjoyed your videos..Thank you
I agree. Felt like I lost a friend.
The letter that was 1st written to you in 1975 was the day after they finished shooting the 1st season episodes of lhop. They also celebrated Karen Grassle's birthday on set
Hello Jeff, What a wonderful video and sharing your memories being with Michael Landon. Have a wonderful day
Thank you very much, Charles!
Keeping people honest is a wonderful thing !

I was a huge fan of Michael Landon, there are a lot of actors who don’t like to sign their autographs. Rock Hudson was another very famous actor, he was a star but didn’t like to sign autographs for people. It makes it more challenging that way to have to really look for one.

Our pleasure! Don’t forget PBS was around too! Yes, great childhood memories!

Great memories. Loved all the shows they where in and very much enjoyed this video Thankyou Jeff
Thank you Lindsay! We appreciate you as a faithful viewer!
I wrote a 4 page letter thanking him for 10:31 Little House on the Prairie and how much I loved it and him.❤️
That was very sweet. I'm sure the outpouring of love was quite comforting to him!
@@jbenziggy I always hoped he got it but I never knew if he got it.
Good morning. Jeff and Sarah , Good video my friend . I look forward to Sunday morning to watch you video's ,question 99.9 thousand subscribers ! What are you gonna do for 100 thousand ? Now you can quit your job and travel the country doing videos ! LOL love what you guys do.. THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA... PS. My phone for some reason won't let me send a message on live video's but don't think I don't watch....
