I am getting 12 kmpl(with ac) in city... for petrol 1.2 litre engine. n highway 16-17 kmpl (with ac) on highway... grand i10 owners how much are you getting in city/highway... for petrol version... Need some advise... I am planning to buy my first car(petrol).. Shortlisted to Swift, Grand i10 and Brio.. Swift clutch is too hard and wasnt comfortable in high traffic and low speeds.. Narrowed down to Grand and Brio... I found brio handling and ease to drive top notch.. wanted to drive more.. Grand i10 felt like neutral driving.. steering was sensitive and suspension bouncy in bad roads..but build quality and features are too tempting.. Great work guys! The first part of the review was good where you explained what features the car has to offer. The second part though does not seem up to the mark. If you are comparing the Grand i10 with Swift, what swings the balance in favor of Swift is the handling. Though the Grand i10 feels stiffly sprung than other Hyundais, what lets it down is the dead steering. It feels over assisted and has a mind of its own. It weighs up inconsistently and can get really frustrating at times. And thats what lets it down in terms of a driving feel, which the Swift nails by the way. That could be a deal breaker for many. The other thing that the Swift gets right is the engine which has much better power delivery than the Hyundai 3 cylinder pot. You are left wanting for more in the Grand i10, especially on the highway. But Hyundai always delivers on what the average Indian customer wants - A fully loaded and comfortable car which takes the user from point A to B without worrying much about how it does that!
Grand i10 feels more spacious and it has more boot space and lot more features, also the dashboard feels much better, I really love how grand i10 steering feels, I really love it especially when steering through narrow roads in the city, and its a breeze to drive in the traffic. Swift may feel bit punchy in terms of handling, but if you consider the over all package, grand i10 wins the race hands down. Obviously grand i10 owners are most likely from big metropolitans and nothing beats Grand i10 in the city. Also its not so bad in the highway, if you do not want to push your car too hard in to 120 to 140 zone, grand i10 scores really well in highways as well. There is little reason to opt for Swift over grand i10, but there are more reasons to opt for grand i10 over swift. :)
i have heard other reviews stressing the fact that the suspension is on the softer side and that the handling dynamics of the car is not as sporty as swift .
Wow a whole lotta viewers found this review unfavorable ! : O I for one loved the heck outta this review and am amazed every year at the kind of kit hyundai put out with their cars and how they offer a really good value package for buyers ! I'm not a fanboy though, I chose a fabia over an I20 when I had to make a purchase :p About the video, the shots of the cubby holes was perfect, the one with the abandoned petrol station, the one with the water flowing from the dam, the driving shots were the best I've seen anywhere ! Powerdrift, keep this up and you'll put top gear outta business :p

I own Hyundai Grand Automatic version purchased by me in January 2015. The car is excellent, grand driving experience and overall its fun. On negative side, consumption is bit high. In Mumbai the car gives average of 10 KM/LTR ONLY. Its too low. Swift gives over 13/14 KMPL in Mumbai. I have noticed that this is mainly because the engine is set at very high rpm ( I understand its 800 rpm). This consumes very high petrol in ideling condition. For self driven cars, where owners are capable of manevoring engines in idealing condition, Hyundai should consider possibility of setting 650/700 rpm level in idling conditions. This will definitely improve milage of vehicle.
I am kinda waiting for the review of the new Xcent. I feel the faster you release the review video, the more viewers you're going to earn and henceforth cranking up PD's review respect ;). Please do work on fast. I can't wait to another good quality review. I also understand quality comes with time but if you can trick that factor out, you would get awesomely qualitative viewers in large quantity

PTR , u build up an entire new refreshing atmosphere in the start jus lik in any of ur review which s really admirable n definitive, but that subsided substantially by the end of ur review.. u failed to deliver a final verdict on this car.. the final half of the review was a real let down for me which never happened to me before..u really need to find a way to sort out the way u presented the handlin n dynamic aspects of the car..really lookin forward for ur other reviews..:)

Thanks for the review. But Sorry PTR, you might lose your subscribers if this style continues. This review seems to be a more biased review unlike what i have seen from PTR. Agreed its much cheaper that Swift but taking away a cylinder out of the equation does not seem right. Adding to this, the comment from reviewer saying it handles better when i myself have experienced it to be set soft and rolls a bit just did not feel convincing. Having been a fan of PTR, and made many of my friends to sub to your channel, this review does not seem to be of usual PTR standard. Missing out on the fun stuff as well from TenHut. Well I don't want a fan war here but don't you think your comment is biased itself? My parents have few marutis and I bought my grand 3 months ago (5K till now and that includes 2 trips to mussoorie and 2 600KM up and down trips) never felt it inferior to swift (not comparing it to dezire of course). You're entitled to your view but calling a review totally biased and regretting recommending friends is kinda rude...my views.

I want to buy grand i10 (asta optional-petrol variant) for city driving only ...but i just love the looks of i20(sports) a lot more than this car... little difference of budget between the two is no problem. Few points that concern me are- MILEAGE, MILEAGE and MILEAGE .. so i20 looks wayyyy better and is a segment above than this. i10 has improved ride quality but untested and new. am little tilted towards i20 because of the way its Looks, Only! Dude, it was a very one sided review...the air con is very fucked up and the rear ac vents are of like no use. you might just blow cold air to each other's face instead of using the rear air con. The air con is much better in creta but i think given the conditions, s cross by suzuki is far better than creta when it comes to comfort and performance but then again it is my perspective. S cross doesn't has a rear ac vent but the cooling is fast AF. P.S. I own a Grand i10 and s cross and my sister own a creta, so this review is not biased.
Raghavan Chakravarthi I agree that these cars are from different segments but given that the i10 has an rear air con vent and still extremely less air flow, I think it is quite useless. I was also intrigued by the rear vent but it is of no use. What i meant to say was that the above car s cross has no rear ac vent but the cooling as compared to creta also is very fast and i think that hyundai could have slightly improved the air con in i10. Even the swift which is kind of a slight overpriced vehicle in my opinion, has better cooling. P.S. Overpriced because if you are able to buy swift at 7 lakh inr then you better invest 40 Thousand more and buy the alpha baleno.

You cannot compare i10 with S cross or Creta, both are different segments..
