@@knowingbadger 😂. Stop it hurts…. The only game I know of that is UE and does not have stuttering at ALL is gears of war. Even hellblade 2 has very minor traversal stuttering and it’s super well optimized.
@@PhotoJohn80 Hifi Rush, Lies of P, Control, Outer Wilds, Borderlands 3, I can keep going HellBlade really isn't very optimized of a title in the first place tbh
@@knowingbadger 😂 stop stop. BL3 stutters, hifi rush(I’ll give you that but that game is so simple), outer wilds stutter, lies of p has traversal stuttering. So maybe you have a magic gaming rig or it doesn’t bother you. But put up a frame time graph and prove me wrong. And hellblade 2 actually runs amazing if you have the recommended hardware to run it. I only got the stupid traversal stutters when moving to new areas.
Hey Santiago! Glad to see this mostly works on the Deck! Maybe a few optimizations from the developer and the stutters can be improved. Have you tried setting the trackpad as a mouse and aiming with it instead of the joystick? I found its a lot more accurate that way, definitely closer to an actual mouse
Silent Hill 2 Remake is dropping this month. I'm interested to see how it might perform on the Steam Deck. I cannot justify that price, though. It's almost 100 dollars! Konami is quite greedy.
I don’t have much stutter, I play on your settings and get a locked 40FPS. Pretty solid experience, too bad I forgot how much I suck at FPS games on controller😅. Thanks for the video though
I've been loving this game on the deck. I am playing with everything on low and textures + foliage at medium with tsaa on balanced for nearly locked 60fps thus far on the OLED. Basically all upscalers work really well on this game but FSR, which makes the game look like a blurry mess
Cpu seems to be running at alnost max speed despite ~50% utilisation on all cores. Limiting tdp and gpu clock should lower cpu speed to more sensible levels without much of a sacrifice for some battery life gain
@@SantiagoSantiago Have you tried using PowerTools to override the APU TDP limits? I haven't seen any benchmarks to confirm, but I think that going above 15 to 30 can make a difference. For example, on steamOS 3.6 with the ZRAM feature, and my UMA buffer set to 4 GB, when I allowed RE4 Remake to give me a recommended preset based on available memory, it essentially defaulted to high settings without FSR! That's crazy. I am using the game's built in FPS cap set to variable in this case with v sync enabled. I am on average getting 30 FPS. Sometimes I get drops to medium or upper 20s but that is when I am looking at busy areas, but the game is otherwise performant and I notice no stuttering or lag even when the frame rate drops.
I think the fsr2 is not well implemented ,it feels like it doesn't upscale the image.I used the optiscaler mod(it's replacing dlss with any upscaling option you want, even fsr 3.1) and it looks way better

Been playing it on my deck oled since it's steam launch and it's excellent.
this game is so much fun. thanks for you great optimization tips. amazing work as always
I still have hope that Alan Wake 2 will be released on Steam, although it will still take a long time.
This game needs its stutters fixed and they need to add FSR3 with frame generation
It is Unreal Engine... The stuttering is built in for free..
@@PhotoJohn80 believe it or not. Not every UE game stutters

Personally not a fan of using the trackpad to aim, but I do use gyro, works pretty well! :D
having this game on the steam deck is a bless

Personally looking forward to how Undisputed Boxing will be on steamdeck. It drops next week ! Along with Dragon Ball Sparking Zero🎉

Does anyone know how to get it working on my steam deck, the controls are not working
If I can wait 1 year, I can wait another until it's marked down
how can you adjust controller sensitivity, at zero it is unplayable with a controller
You can go into the steam controller settings for the game and change the right stick sensitivity, should allow you to customize it further
Do you think the steam deck can run the silent hill 2 remake?
Thanks for your videos
Once it releases we will find out :)

With a lower TDP and custom GPU clocks it was more unstable when it comes to frametimes, specially when effects show up

Definitely, I will be doing a video testing that on multiple games, but FSR2 here is one of the worst I've seen lol
The game needs a a couple of updates to improve the fps on the deck and it should them be Verified
Hi, on my new ally games stuttering and i dont now why, a try everything.... Can you hel me? Please.
Do you see imaginary detectives?
They are always with me :)
I watch this on my new roh ally and dude.... This thing has amazing sound quality
