Catchy video! If you are not a seasoned restaurant owner. Do not build a restaurant from scratch, I repeat do not build a restaurant in a empty shell...so many restaurant owners are ready to hand the keys to their shop...oh and be sure your business partner is good!

@santoslittlehelper06 - Everything you said is true. I would only nitpick a bit with Bourdain for not having also put things in perspective. Just because some dinner guests at a dentist's home compliment him, that STILL doesn't mean that the guy can cook (and 999 times out of 1000 he CAN'T cook to a professional standard). Guests are almost always complimentary, so you can't base anything on the reaction of friends and relatives. To make money you must be ABSOLUTELY GREAT.

Of Paul's clients, how many of his "hundreds or restaurants around the world" are successful?

Starting a restaurant is just the beginning but running is successfully is where most small restaurants find it difficult. Cause most Owners ends up running errands all the time. And we understand that. That's why we make their life a bit easy.

I don't think this video spends enough time touting this guy's resumé, lol.
This video does nothing to discourage otherwise "smart" people from opening up a restaurant.
As Anthony Bourdain gave, as a hypothetical example: A retiring dentist throws a successful dinner party in his home, and everyone eggs him on to open his own restaurant. He knows nothing of he business, but he figures that because he can cook at home, he can run a successful restaurant.
