Wow! That is as close to new as can be found. I’ve said it before, you are the most honest person I’ve ever seen for displaying your vehicles. Thank you for sharing.
I’ve got almost the same thing, except with Tahoe trim. Two tone red over white, vinyl seats with carpet, steel wheels. It was bought new by my parents off the lot in Batesville Arkansas. Had 79K when they replaced it with a Kia Sorrento, has about 85K now. Working on it makes you wonder how GM stayed in business, so many little thing that are really crappy. It’s my inheritance and about the closest I’ll get to having a classic vehicle, have Arkansas antique tag. 😊
It’s averaged 1000 per year for the life of the little truck. I guess I can call it a truck. I’ve never seen one this clean at just a few years old, much less 35 years! I wish I needed it because I sure do like it. With a manual transmission this one won’t last very long. Good luck Bob!
just subbed you....i;m from the UK a guy near me in the late 80s -90s had a light baby blue one of these with a 10" thick cream stripe paint job on both sides..looked super cool..factory option i guess ? , a v6 i think also.........probably rare in the US let alone Kettering UK
Bob those 2.8's were you know......I had one in a 91 S10 and one in a blazer just like this...The 4.3 was spot on perfect........Had that S10 two weeks after the first one....Took the first one back to the dealer.....Got rid of it....
My father had an '83 or '84 2 door S-10 Blazer just like this as his car. That 2.8L V-6 was a real dog (not fast by any means and thirsty) but it was very dependable--the transmission and transaxle used the power fairly efficiently. Someone pitched a brick of a highway overpass and pounded the passenger door--that did it for my Pop...he pulled the dents filled the rest and Earl Sheib'd the door, got rid of it for a Chevrolet conversion van for my mother (she loved that). That S-10 was an outlier for our family. A bad fit. I've owned a '96 GMC Sonoma (standard cab, long bed) an '01 S-10 Crewcab (had my own bad luck story forced me to get rid of it). Loved that Sonoma to death, but that S-10 Crewcab was slow, rattly and thirsty--drove it a few years and traded it for a (beloved) almost new '03 Trailblazer.
My first car was an 85 2.8 auto, 2wd …loved that thing, got 24-25 mpg highway, thing was so simple, bought mine from an older couple too with 87k miles on it back in 2003. Sadly I wrecked it a few years later. Wish I could find another one, these things are getting hard to find
it's a 2.8L JUNK shitty mileage no power and why are you bosting the manual tranny that was standard anybody that knows these blazers knows they're dogs that's why they put the 4.3L in it.
SOLD!

The only thing that would have made that truck better in my opinion is the 4.3 L V6
Just use immaculate as well as perfect etc

Nice! I've had a few of these back in the day. Is that a 71,72 elcamino in the background? If so definitely do a video on it please.

I bet with the 5-speed that 2.8 accelerates as well as the 4.3 automatic. The 4.3 Blazers were pretty slow too.
