I’ve only drank 1-2 days (weekends only) for about a year and I definitely am in that messy middle where Im constantly anxious. Even if I don’t have terrible cravings throughout the week, I always end up binging Friday or Saturday and start the cycle over with.

There should be more warnings given about alcohol to people at a young age, especially those already prone to anxiety but the problem is that it gets glossed over as a social norm. I wish I could have educated a 16 year old version of myself about just how insidious and pervasive the drug is and how it messes with the neurochemistry of the brain.
Quitting definitely reduces anxiety. My anxiety was off the charts when drinking. Always woke up at 300 AM terrified.

It's just really sinking in....the anxiety that I have put down to hormonal changes is definitely fuelled by weekly drinking.

Totally agree! Many of us were just completely unaware.
