I was chuffed to watch this video and found myself smiling to myself and I realised why? It is a Happy film. Pasties, beautiful scenery and weather and that delightful lamp post....Tell me what is there not to make you feel happy? Well done you put a big smile on my face and PS it was lovely to see the doggies back again after a long hot Summer. Yes I really enjoyed it guys.
Hello Sarah and Andrew!! So happy to see the fur boys, they are just so precious 🤗 Warren’s Bakery looked absolutely divine, I can’t take it anymore,I am going to go to the grocery and get the ingredients and give it a try,I am sure it will be nothing like the real thing ! The views were stunning and it just seemed like a beautiful day,I absolutely adored the painted light post, such a charming idea! I hope you are having a great weekend,it was our first week back to school and always the hardest to get back into the groove of things. Sending happiness your way,Lori .
Hi Lori - I'm sure the pasties will be a great success! We have a long weekend here int he UK, our last bank holiday before Christmas, next week our schools go back and seems like summer is over!Hi from our little fur babies!! Sarah :)
Hello Sarah and Andrew! It was really lovely meeting up with you in Portreath :-) And I have been looking forward to watching this video with the chough! Such good luck you had to spot it! And again, a brilliant video from this area. Next year we will continue walking from St. Ives to Penzance, and then out to the Isles of Scilly for some days, so it was nice to see the clip with the view of St. Mary's and St. Martin's. You must have had very clear weather. We have also become real pasty fans after these walking days in Cornwall :-) And we are looking forward to returning to the South West Coast Path next summer :)
Hi Torunn! Glad you had a safe journey home! I hope that you will be spotting choughs next year along this stretch and it sounds like you will be enjoying a pasty or two along the way! Sarah :)
Really loved this walk. Coast is so rugged and beautiful...Andrew is just rugged! John predicted the chough/chuff comments so we were not disappointed!! It was fantastic that you were able to film one so clearly. Great to see your two boys back, I guess it was a little less hot; we have been able to get our two out now that it is a less humid and a little cooler. John was drooling over the sight of those Warren's pasties and he is soooo looking forward to the minimum prescribed one pastie per day in a couple of weeks time!
We have a couple more videos from the wonderful weather but the boys will be regularly joining us soon - they love our days out filming! Although we only show you a brief 10 minutes, it takes us a good four hours to film a walk, so they absolutely love it! The chough was most obliging and stayed for about 10 minutes while I pressed all the wrong buttons! and gradually crept closer, my arm was aching from holding the camera still while on zoom but it was worth every second! I really hope the weather perks up for your visit, fingers crossed, we need to go out filming too as we are using up our stockpile! Sarah :)
We have often wondered how much time you spend filming to produce such polished results. The various different angles of the same subject must involve considerable walking back and forth. You undoubtedly cover much more than the stated mileage! We absolutely love the results and appreciate all the hours you put in.
Hi Sarah and Andrew, a fantastic walk in my favourite part of Cornwall! The Kenidjack valley is so lovely, Ballowall barrow unique and impressive, that view from nearby of the coast to Land's End and out to Scilly and the Brisons - unbeatable! And I get as chuffed as you when I see a chough, they are such marvelous birds!
We were so excited that we could see the Scilly Isles that day, as I am sure you will know that they are not always visible!! Makes me want to book a flight! Sarah :)
Yes, the Scillies are wonderful, we actually had our family holidays there when I was a kid and that was what made me then explore and grow to love Cornwall too. I was actually inspired by your video to go down that way today, so I got the early train to Penzance, and walked from St Just across the fields to Levant mine, then back along the coast path via Botallack of course, crossed Porthledden via the rocks (tide was out) to Cape Cornwall and then back up the Kenidjack valley (past Warren's bakery!). Saw a chough at Kenidjack Castle, and two more flying over the valley, and saw 3 seals in Porthledden. Beautiful day - and the Scillies were visible for the whole walk.
After scrambling over the rocks of Porthledden to Cape Cornwall I then went to St Just the same way you did, past Wheal Call and Boscean, so I when I wrote "back up the Kenidjack Valley" I only meant as far as Boscean; I actually did the upper part on my way to Levant. Yes the weather was perfect, it was a stunning walk, 7 hours in total with lots of stops to explore!
Thanks again for another great video. I learn more about Cornwall from your videos then I could from anywhere else. Lovely views and interesting facts. Its better than what we're seeing here right now in British Columbia with close to 600 forest fires burning. Looking forward to the next one. Laura
Nice way to cool off the dogs and that pastie shop on the way was a big plus for me. Loved the painted lamposts, what a great idea and beats graffiti. Interesting old ruin and makes you wonder how many people were actually buried there. Lovely weather again and a nice quiet walk, definitely a 8 out of 10 for me, cheers Alan
Oohh....actually recognise some of this one! Visited cape Cornwall earlier this year!! Loved this part of the coast!! Missed the barrow though.....will have to go back for that one!! ( We love a good barrow!!). 😀👍
New book! Love loop trails. The Cape is beautiful! Cooling off the puppies! Yummy pasty! Love the "National Trust" pronunciation. LOL! Take turns, Andrew! Bronze age....LOL! That chimney stack is impressive! Never have seen Poldark. You guys are too cute! Beautiful bird! Happy that you got to see one! Thanks for sharing this walk. It was fun!
Love Cape Cornwall, we went there last year so now you've made me want to go back again. Thanks for information about rocks in Poldark never knew it was filmed there, lovely to see. Great that you saw a chough as well, would love to see one. So nice to see your boys out with you again hope they are doing well, they always look like they are enjoying themselves, shame they couldn't go on the beach, maybe on the next walk. Really enjoyed the video, look forward to the next one. Hope you're having a good weekend. Bets
Hi, yes the doggies came with us, We have one or two more that we filmed during the lovely weather and we went without them - always so hard because they look soooo sad! The brown dog seems to know when we put the filming equipment out so gets very, very excited! Sarah :)
Hi both, another super hike! We’re lucky enough to have visited St Just recently and yes those pasties are quite delicious! Thanks for taking us on your walk😀👍
Nice to see it in the sunshine. Last time I was there was Boxing Day 2017 and it was lashing it down and blowing a nine force gale, so couldn't move out of the car sadly!
I'm so excited that you got to see a chough and tell us about them. Very cool. Glad to see St Just, my paternal grandmother was from there. We hope to visit on our next trip. Glad to see Andrew enjoying his pasty. Lovely walk, really enjoyed it, thank you for sharing.
Maybe, I was lucky to find a whole branch of my paternal grandfather's family last year. He was from the Lizard and I really enjoyed visiting that area. It's been great fun learning more about Cornwall and seeing it through your videos.
Another fascinating watch lovely watching you with my colleagues at work we all say hello from office in Melbourne ( its Friday we are having a little after work party) 5pm good timing for your episode Sarah and Andrew :) Andrew any WC there? ;P

Wheres the ice cream? There was no ice cream in the video. Did Andrew eat it before you could get the shot? Another really nice video with some very scenic footage and info. 👍👍
Hi David, Oh yes! Zennor is certainly on our list! We have a large OS map on our kitchen wall and we mark the walks on it; our aim is to cover the whole coastal path and Zennor is one of the many holes!! Sarah :)
Hi. Look forward to seeing that one. My first visit to Cornwall was on a school holiday from Manchester some 50 years ago. It has hardly changed over the years apart from the extension to the Tinners. I always visit Zennor on my annual Cornish holiday. Such a brilliant place with many happy 😃 memories.

We certainly walk around a fair bit! Sarah :)
I am impressed that there are so many different trails in this little country :)
We could be doing this for years!!

That's marvellous! You had the perfect day for it yesterday, bit wet today! Sounds great, but Andrew is not sure how you passed Warren's bakery.

One of Cornwall's many winter gales! I know exactly what you mean and I must admit, that I love Cornwall in all moods!! Sarah :)
Fabulous!! I so love Cornwall. I once worked at Tregenna Castle Hotel in St. Ives .... decades ago. Big thumbs up!
Hello! Love St Ives, probably a lot busier these days!! Sarah :)
Hi Lori, that is wonderful! I wonder if you will discover distant relatives when you visit! Sarah :)

Thanks Lori! and I am sure we will be going back to the Lizard, it's so beautiful! Sarah :)
I thought Andrew looked the spitting image of Poldark. And thanks for showing such cool video of the Chough.
I was so pleased to see the chough! We are always looking for them, almost like the illusive pantomime baddy!
Beautiful walk. I love Ballowall Barrow, such a beautiful place. You should have gone inside, it's amazing when you're in there!
We did have a little look inside, I think we must have forgotten to film it - we will wait for you to film it!! LOL! Sarah :)
It's an amazing walk when you're inside (and by the way, I've already filmed it! Just search Ballowall Barrow and it will come up)
Thank you for sharing, we are staying nearby next week in Pendeen, can't wait to explore it looks amazing👌🏼😁xx
