Good Video, Thanks for sharing, When people do these fitments and show the public it helps in big way, We have done a few of these and i was just showing a new mechanic how you have fitted it so he would have some faith in what i was telling him, well done and keep riding...
I installed one months ago , went from 400km before reserve to 300km now . Pro : more torque , instant pick up , more aggressive acceleration, much better off-road . Throaty intake / exhaust noise . Too speed increased slightly too . Cons: lost 100km range per tank average . Rear Tyre will wear if you exploit the extra grunt constantly . Conclusions: to me it’s a no brainer , for the klr, you can overtake and get away from traffic when commuting a lot safer now too. I went the jetting route with the CVK prior. With the Mukuni there is no comparison if you want more power for the lawnmower on wheels 😅
Zen Sempai I’m glad I’m not the only one lol the same thing happed to me 400+ out of a tank and then bang 300 with the carb & 685 kit I’m just going to get a safari tank for it and it will be fine
I’ve already purchased a stage two kit from dynojet for my stock klr carb don’t think I’m going to bother now after watching your videos I want one of these. Thanks for sharing.
I'm in the process of putting a 42 Mikuni on my KLR 650 I just used an old carb boot and cut the rubber off of the aluminum base for a carb spacer ... perfect fit and didn't cost me a shitload of $$🎰🏴☠️🧨💯💨
very detailed explanation, super video!!! I also installed the tm42-6 carb today as you explained, but the Bottom bolt touches a little, can i cut off a piece of the bolt so as not to hit the starter?
Some do just touch starter... run a cable tie under rear of carby/air boot then directly vertical up over frame and put just a little tension on it until you have 10mm clearance
at 8:30 min mark you had me pmsl as I know the kind of people you are talking about I know quite afew like it myself mate thanks for sharing the video mate going to get on off him for My 2017 KLR 650 just want to have a bit of a chat with you about it
Waiting on the carb to show up in mail, came off a harley so not sure. But I'm ordering the klr kit from mikunioz.com. (prob best customer service ive had ever..). I'm just not sure what other jet to order. Seems like you've found out a good start point..
Hectng G ...Mikuni Oz knows all about the jetting so u should be right... let me know what u have when it all arrives... watch my KLR vs Dr vid... I'm sure I mention the jetting...
Yea I've watched and made notes. Haha.. Got good info from you..you are the reason I'm attempting this. You have re invented the KLR for me.i have many bikes but for so.e reason. The KLR even in its sluggish ways is always my go to. It's just a fun bike. Now if I can get it to rip, and pop easy wheelies, man it's gonna be fun.. Lol your the fuckin man..
without watching my vids again... i think it was a 27 pilot with a 130 main.... cant remember what size the pumper nozzle was because it came with carby... it was smaller than standard.... and i think a 96 needle... ring Tom at mikunioz... because they use my settings for anyone who buys a carby for a klr
@@4TheFamily12 .... make sure when you aim pumper jet nozzle that it just misses the needle and shoots straight into valves... I was originally told to make the jet hit the needle so it breaks up the fuel... You'll get more punch from motor shooting at valves
You really dont need a thermo Bob ive never added it to my bike just a 40% bigger aluminum radiator now it wont go past the half way mark on gauge no where near over heat.
I agree... I don't have a thermo Bob.... I just use thermo fan override.... When I'm in tight technical trails under 50kmph there's not a lot of wind so hit the switch and have never had a problem even on really hot days
not knocking your build. just noticed that spacer hole was round and the engines intake hole was a different shape. any issues with that? thanks for sharing by the way! larry

What's the part number of the smaller accelerator pump jet? I'm trying to find on Mikuni's website but it seems what is available is for bigger carb
