My friends are all wearing tons of James Charles inspired makeup and I’m just not comfortable with that. I might wear a tinted balm, a blush, or a bit of mascara but that’s about it. I must say that you are my favorite UA-camr ever and are such an inspiration. I hope to one day create such a positive experience and environment that you have created here on UA-cam. I have the fenty gloss bomb, and haven't seen any of your other fenty reviews, but this really makes me want to buy more! You have a similar skin tone to me and I was afraid of other products being too high coverage but its great to see it swatched on you!

Supporting black owned beauty companies is definitely a win for everyone because they will probably try to make their shades as inclusive as possible. Most foundations wouldn’t match me because I’m very pale (which doesn’t bother me in particular because I never wear foundation but it’s worth noting) but I’ve tried the lightest shade of the fenty foundation once and it was actually even a bit too light. So while it is mainly about supporting black owned businesses, it will also pressure the market into being more inclusive in all ways.

What are your thoughts on the Glossier controversies? I'm heartbroken. Whenever I invest my heart and money into a brand (Milk, Glossier), they get exposed and it makes me so sad that I feel I can never truly trust any brands.
I'd built up a nice big display wall of my favourite products - Mostly Milk cream sticks and Glossier things - and now looking at it makes me feel... wrong, dirty, and decieved.
I truly hope that Glossier can resolve these issues. ❤
So disappointing! You're quite right - sadly it feels like there are very few brands (possibly none at all) that can *completely* align with our expectations and values. Really hoping Glossier use the time while their retail locations are closed to take genuine action and implement change behind the scenes 👍 I’ll certainly be following the situation closely x
What happened with Glossier?
@@isabellagappmayer7970 Some ex-employees, namely POC, started Outta the Gloss on Insta. They drew attention to the unfair mistreatment of employees and editors of Glossier, outlining a list of actions that they wanted. Emily Weiss responded on the company blog, with hollow words and no exact actions. Many people have decided to boycott Glossier until they make necessary changes. This especially spread across the Glossier subreddit. It makes me sad because I love the brand and products.
My first Fenty Beauty purchase was the Mattemoisselle lipstick in Candy Venom. The colour is so bold and bright I would not have ever imagined it on me until I saw Rihanna wearing it! I immediately asked my sister to get it from Singapore and I absolutely love it ♥️ It looks lovely and doesn't budge on the lips. We now use the eyebrow pencil and the eyeliner as well.

I always see pat mcgrath’s pallete in a lot of beauty creators I follow, but it wasnt until I saw it in a tutorial in alexandra anele’s youtube channel that i fell in love. Particularly those duochrome shades. I’m not keen on makeup but that beautiful electric blue shade in her subversive pallete has me lusting for duochromes for no reason at all. I’m in love with the colors she puts out in her collection.

I love Fenty's gloss bomb in diamond milk (on my second tube) the iridescent glitter along with the thick gloss is beautiful on top of a matte red lip stick. There's nothing like putting on your favorite lip gloss and taking on the world. :)
I've only tried Pat McGrath's eye shadow singles in the sublime collections and let me tell you I'm obsessed. Wish the palettes were more wallet friendly though otherwise I would have them all!

I wear Fenty's slip shine lightly applied underneath Pat McGrath Mattetrance lipsticks lightly applied over the top and the outcome is divine! I've tried glazed under 1995, retro rose under Omi, and retro rose or goji berry under flesh 3. I find mattetrance can look very dry or one dimensional on my lips, so the thick balm underneath really helps loosen up the colours! Fenty slip shine gives it a really beautiful glowy undertone and the mattetrance dries down ontop so it lasts much longer.

I love the intention and thought you put behind it and the face that you didn't just go out and buy a bunch of black-owned brand products now, but have been supporting them all along🤗 I would have to say the original Fenty Gloss bomb is a staple product for me. I have never found any other gloss that compares. I'm really excited to try her sheer lipstick after seeing your other video on them!

I remember watching the video where you suggested ginger binge/Moscow mule and immediately running out to sephora to see how the colors looked with my complexion. Great to hear you addressing the definition of black-owned and what you mean by it. Most don’t! I do think it’s worth noting though that Rihanna may have built the business but the profits will not end up in her pocket - they’ll end up in those of the LVMH shareholders. You might be interested in some of Kimberly Clark’s videos, particularly those around the concept that one of the key reasons for supporting black owned brands is about redistribution of wealth, particularly from the white patriarchy to women of colour. Worth a watch!

Pat McGrath lipsticks are very good. Super creamy and ultra in comfortable on the lips.
As for color these days. I'm hooked on the YSL lip stain #1, it seems the perfect red for me. Red-pink, a bit on the white and orange side. Haven't came across a red lip color I like better than this one.

This was wonderful Matilda! Ive loved Fenty since the brand launched. I love the glosses but I agree they are very (too) scented. Didn’t keep me from buying jultiples though ;) another brand that I think is black owned that keeps popping up on my IG is Mented. I think it’s short for Pigmented according to the ad. Some beautiful looking products that I am going to try. I love these very pigmented colors on my light to medium olive skin and pigmented lips. I frequently mix these deeper shades with a hint of a lighter one to get just the right color. Can’t wait to see the blog!

FENTY fan since day one!!!! One of the few brands I get excited about when they have new releases because I know for sure that they’re well-thought out, consumer wise, and artist-friendly! The packaging and components are also so beautiful, they look so good on the vanity!! Absolutely worth my money and I always get a few, if not close to all, of the colours of each product!! My faves are the hydrating primer, the matte foundation, the Killawatt hightlighter, the Gloss Bombs (only gloss I ever wear, I have all the shades), the contour sticks and blushes/highlights, and most recently, the Slip Shine lipsticks!! I got 7 of them and I USE and LOVE every single one! It’s all Ive been wearing for a month or so now! Cannot wait for the new lip balms and the brow product to arrive in Australia 🥰🥰🥰😍😍 Thank you for this video (and all the videos you create in general), they are so informative, so aesthetically pleasing, and your voice is so calm. I’ve recommended you to heaps of my friends already and they love you too!

The Fenty Gloss Bombs are my perfect lip product! I own so many other lipsticks, glosses, balms; but every morning I end up choosing a gloss bomb to finish my look.

Great kickoff to your new series! I was mesmerized by all dreamy colors and textures. I was a Fenty Fan since day one! Finally a brand that works with my oily combo skin, starting with the original foundation formula. It replaced my former all time go to Estée Lauder for days and nights requiring long-wear-staying-power, without the cakey mess! Plus, an extensive shade range that suits my ever changing skin tone! I can be quite sallow in the winter and then easily transition to a much deeper golden color in summer, finding a good match is no longer an issue for me, yay! Her powders, blotting papers, and blush sticks all work with my complexion and a new favorite for me is her brow pencils. Love! Pat McGrath has two of my fav lip pencil shades and her lip gloss as you mentioned is fabulous. I have one of the mini three pack sets, and I always got compliments when I would wear one of them. 🤗 xoxo 😻
