A lot of people would be surprised to learn that pasture fed and finished cows produce significantly more greenhouse gasses than those in CAFO's eating corn and soy. They grow to slaughter weight more slowly, and grass makes more methane than corn and soy. Their manure makes not only methane (20-80 times more potent than CO2) but also nitrous oxide, which is 256 times more potent! Factory farming isn't the only problem.

The statement that there's no rational obligation to abstain from eating animal foods overlooks a profound ethical issue. The stark reality is that sentient beings are subjected to systematic cruelty and exploitation, enduring torture, abuse, exploitation, horrific conditions, and deaths that are deeply at odds with some people's capacity for compassion and understanding. The rationale for abstaining goes beyond personal health or environmental concerns-it's an urgent moral call echoed by people from all walks of life, including philosophers and ethicists for centuries. It's underpinned by irrefutable evidence of the depth of emotion and social complexity animals possess, recognized by organizations like the Humane Society International. When we know that animals experience fear, pain, and suffering, and when we acknowledge that our dietary choices contribute to an industry that perpetuates such suffering, the question shifts from 'Why should we abstain?' to 'How can we not?' Each decision to forgo animal products is a stand against a tide of indifference, a commitment to a world that sees animals not as mere commodities but as fellow beings with rights to a life free from harm.
People eat chopped-up corpses and cadavers because they want to, and because they can, not because they need to. The science is solid, backed by abundant evidence, and clear as pure crystal.

11 years ago I went vegetarian. After 4 months and veganuary “January” came around I tried switching. I’m against abuse against all animals, be they are human or dog, all animals deserve to not be abused by other humans. I just changed my moral compass to align my stomach. When I watched people laugh as they cut off a body part (tails or ears) or slam another on the ground causing massive brain damage, a legal practice called “knocking”. I said “I’m not paying for that, that’s literally disgusting and evil. I wouldn’t do it myself”. The only way to avoid that is to not pay for any of it no matter where you buy a from. The body was of an innocent one who didn’t deserve to die when vegans/vegetarians are already (88 million in the world now recorded in 2023) living years this way. Being omnivores we actually only eat meat to survive. Well, I’m not in a survival situation. I sit in a warm home with nice clothes and internet. I thrive as a vegan, 10 years now and pregnant, and I’ll never go back.
Note that saying “if people want to do this they can” just because it’s currently legal doesn’t mean it’s moral. Slavery was legal, but it was immoral. African Americans, Jews, and Women all had to fight for their rights cause the actions made against them were legal but immoral. This is the same with dogs, cats, birds, pigs, cows, and horses. You wouldn’t buy or breed a cute piglet, puppy, or hatchling just to grab them and throw them onto the ground until they die, then send them off to a butcher, or butcher them yourself because you would feel that’s wrong right?
Stand up for your beliefs and don’t turn a blind eye. You can do it!👋

@@mommadibble Any objective metric to establish animal cruelty as imoral? Feelings arent an argument, I believe harming people is imoral soly on religious reasoning, but without such why would harming animals be imoral is beyond me.
And no, its not legal, its called animal abuse, but should be legal and people who seek to force theyre moral views should stop for its against they'r rights. People have rights such as self ownership, non human animals dont beyond what people like you give them, if you want to make a comunity were no one is alowed to harmimals thats your right, you shouldnt force your moral views upon everybody else, thats just authoritarian, all the injustices you mentioned hapen because of state interventions forcing people to treat other groups diferently by law, without the state those people would just be left alone by racists. Dogs and cats are not people, and so ou shouldnt force me to act as if they have rights.
Again, i dont consume animal products anymore, but people should still have the right to(even if I think they would be better of not to).

So Harvey, how do you personally attempt to morally justify supporting or your direct involvement in the breeding, exploitation, mutilation, abuse and killing that is required to provide you with animal products that you do not need?

No moral difference? We co-evolved with dogs, we didn't do that with pigs. Dogs are part of our society.

Anthropocentrism is the belief that human beings are the central or most important entity on the planet. The term can be used interchangeably with humanocentrism, and some refer to the concept as human supremacy or human exceptionalism. From an anthropocentric perspective, humankind is seen as separate from nature and superior to it, and other entities (animals, plants, minerals, etc.) are viewed as resources for humans to use.

“We don’t do that with pigs” uh- hate to break your mind but people breed, sell, and own domesticated pet pigs. 😅 So your logic seems flawed due to lack of research. Did you also know there’s cultures that state you can’t even eat a pig? 😅

The only reason to care about nature is because there are sentient beings to suffer (from climate change, deforestation, polution). I don't see how someone can care about nature like nature was itself a feeling being...
I don't know, the more I hear this nonsense, the more anger I have for humans...

It’s not dog meat, it’s vegan meat. Elwood’s Organic Dog Meat is not real, it’s all satire, check out their website and scroll down, they are vegan activists. It’s a thought experiment to point out the cognitive dissonance and excuses people use for eating pigs, cows etc but not eating dogs.

Actually watch the video to see that she was giving out plant based jerky instead of dog meat. Well worth seeing for vegan activists, since Natalie does such a great job. Elwood's dog meat farm has a UA-cam channel you might enjoy visiting, since it does such a great job of satirizing ads promoting animal products using images of happy farm animals.
