Partybox 310 Review - The Beast is Back!

  • The JBL Partybox 300 was one of my favorite speakers of all time, and now JBL has released the sequel to that speaker, the Partybox 310.
    Even though the name might suggest this speaker is strictly for party use only, the reality is that this speaker actually performs very well in other settings as well. The partybox has great sound quality and a design that is subdued enough that it would fit well, tucked into the corner of many different homes.
    Even if you do not play this at max volume, the sheer size of the speaker allows for it to have a room filling sound even at lower volumes, whereas a smaller speaker would need to be played much louder to achieve the same effect.
    Being such a huge speaker though does have its drawbacks, mainly portability. To combat this, JBL has added a set of wheels as well as a luggage handle so you can just roll this around like a suitcase and a place to mount this to a speaker stand, greatly increasing the versatility of this speaker.
    With this new iteration, JBL has fixed almost every issue that I had with the previous version and made some additions as well. All of these together definitely make this a speaker to consider.
    Thanks for Watching!

    Excellent video as I was considering buying. Great details and I was ROTL at the "if you put it in the trunk of your car make sure you secure it so it won't roll/thump around sounding like a corpse in the trunk of a car"
    Very thorough with all the features, operation, etc. The info was appreciated.

    Just bought this & man this sounds amazing & what I didn't know is that Harmon Kardon makes this speaker & they are my favorite. The sound is crisp & clear with deep bass & nice treble which both can be adjusted from the top, plus it's extremely loud so definitely good for parties or any event

    You’re great: You’re very articulate when delivering a lot of details and I trust your expert opinion. Please keep in mind I want to hear a speaker before I make a final decision. Therefore, can you please play devices you review in future videos, especially when you’re comparing models? I watched your entire 300-versus-310 video waiting to hear them comparatively. I watched this video expecting to at least hear the 310. I As a result, I’m simply making a suggestion for you to consider (for a subscriber like me) or to ignore if my suggestion is outside your YT-video goals. Please know I did subscribe. Ultimately, I wish you 10,000,000 more subscribers.

    • @jchen_tech
      @jchen_tech  3 роки тому +10

      Thanks for the suggestion! I don't feel like including a sound test of the speakers would be very helpful though as there would be so many steps of coloration of the sound (my mic -> youtube compression - > Your speakers) that by the end of it what you would hear in the video would not represent at all what the speaker actually sounds like.

  • @goodnightkiwi
    @goodnightkiwi 3 роки тому +11

    I bought some professional speaker stands with two of the 310s and they sound even better when elevated up off the ground and positioned directly in front of the party crowd. I also connect both of the 310s together in TWS (stereo) mode which is great! The only annoying thing is having to re-connect them in TWS mode each time I turn them on, which requires me to pull off the back panel and push the TWS button on the back of each speaker. Do you know if there's a quicker way to do this, perhaps using a key button combination on the top panel instead (like on the 300 model)? I tried holding down both of the bluetooth buttons simultaneously on both speakers for five seconds which works on the 300 model, but not the 310 model.

    We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

      This I highly doubt. Lithium Ion batteries can go through about hundreds of charge cycles before they even start to show less charge per cycle. It would take thousands of charge cycles before the batteries were anywhere near dead.

    Hi ,
    I recently purchased a JBL Partybox 310 a week ago and have noticed that there is a static/hissing sound when there no music playing. I can also hear it when playing low volume music.
    The static sound comes from the top of the speaker but not the bottom.
    Anyone know if this is normal or is it defective?
    Thanks!

      I thought about doing sound tests before, but I just don't believe that you can get an accurate representation over UA-cam of how the speaker sounds. The sound will need to travel through my mic, through youtube compression, then through whatever audio device you're using, picking up distortion and coloration of the sound with each step.
