Today we discuss a huge problem within EAFC 24: The gameplay. It is absolutely awful. Because of the great feature that is evolutions, people are learning that gameplay is the most important part of a game and unfortunately, the gameplay in FIFA has not been good since FIFA 17; 7 years ago. I want to highlight all the major things wrong with the game so maybe we can get enough people to call out EA Sports (even though they wouldn't change it anyway lmao)

The CBs running away from attacking players and misplaced passes really grind my gears. You absolutely lose games based on shit AI.

Finally someone has addressed the shocking passing on this game. The amount of times I've failed in excellent scoring areas because the pass goes either a) to the wrong player or b) behind the player. This is hands down the worst version of FIFA we've had and surprisingly few people are willing to call it out. Good video
The situations that piss me off the most are when I send 2 players on a run, one of them runs offside I try to make a pass to the onside player and I'm forced to use precision passing because if I don't the game will pass the ball to the offside player nearly 100% of the time even if I don't aim there at all.
Most youtubers are just salesmen. It's their living. Nickrtfm and Inception are scathing about how bad this is. Fairplay for their honesty.
I actually thought it was a chemistry issue for me until you mentioned it, and it mostly happens in UT, if you play the normal game mode it’s better
@@Ubah00 yesterday I binned UT. I can't be bothered with it anymore. There's something fundamentally broken when you can't make simple passes anymore. I gave up last night and picked up where I'd left off in seasons. It's like night and day. One feels like a football game and one doesn't. It's a million times better than UT. Which is an utter mess IMO.

I totally agree with the part about why games don’t need to be 100% realistic, if FIFA was completely realistic like some people want, mostly of the matches would end 0-0 cause 10 mins per match irl aren’t enough for normal football results.

Same thing with UFC. Instead of making fun arcade fighting, they do "realistic" fight simulator, but they are not enough competent for that and that's why these games playing like bugged crap.

The horrible part is for some people who we're average at attacking and good at defending. We cannot win any games anymore . Its harder to attack now and good defensive play is not rewarded.

Just played wl qualifiers, where 4 out of 10 games ended in 0:0 and went to pens, its so frustrating when both players arent good enough in attack, so both barely get a couple chances to score

Great point. I actually remember that in FIFA 17 I was great at attacking and average at defending and within 18 months, it was reversed
“My opponents bad decision gets rewarded while my good decision gets penalized. . . “. Couldn’t have said it any better. (there is no tacking in this game, only attempted tackles with ball going to your opponent, usually for a clear shot on target.)
This is what crosses my mind everytime i tackle and it bounces back for free goals, everytime the opponent does a huge defensive mistake but AI corrects through my players being unable to pass or dribble on that instance...
Thats why im running with my CB to a Player with ball instead of tackle💀

I don't like it when the last few mins of the game are going and you literally try to prevent a guy from scoring, so you run into a guy and for some reason throw him away which unsurprisingly leads to an absolutely stupid penalty. That's something that genuinely annoys me!
The amount of times I tried to cut the ball back and it just went behind the player that was making a run is immeasurable. Thank you for addressing the issues
the most frustrating thing is know what I want to do, and being unable to. I know the opponent wants to cut back for 15 seconds, and I literally can't do anything to stop it. I want to make a simple pass, and it goes to the incorrect player. It feels like I'm having to overcome the flaws in EA FC more than playing against my opponent.

The thing is, the passing is correct cause it has a certain system to it. It's just tough to aim them well and if you aim a little too much to the right or hold it a little too long it just goes to the wrong player. It's not on the game its on your aim. This content creator whining about it is a skill issue. The game won't always do exactly what you want to if you aren't good enough to aim properly
I play this game since the SNES era, UT since 2013/14 and I never had probs with aiming (use manual aim btw), but in EA FC, I even have problems when I activate the aim-support lol @@tesroo

Thats one of the craziest things I’ve noticed about this game that has happened to me MANY MANY times , where the center backs will try to guard someone WHO IS ALREADY BEING GUARDED, like literally just leaving a GAPING hole in my defense idk why that happens but it’s so frustrating
the only reason that i enjoy this game is because i dont play multiplayer. i only play career mode and tournament where there are ZERO consquences to losing as i can etheir A: reset the match or B: just carry on and keep playing. but for the short time when i did play multiplayer it was absolutely horrible. nobody passed correctly and it felt like i was coaching a 6 year old little leauge soccer team :/
I am so SO glad somebody has FINALLY made a video about bad tactical movement in this game. I’ve seen other people talk about the bad passing, the bad movement, the overpowered additions to the cards, but TACTICS are ridiculous in this game. Any true footy fan should notice this and be angry. It pisses me off every time I play it.
The passing is god awful. I may just be really bad but it gets intercepted every time and the foul calling is so inconsistent. I’ll keep playing it obviously but damn
@@data9594 nah, try out seasons. There's something fundamentally wrong with UT passing. I think they've broken the game trying to do too much by introducing all these new player traits. Seasons is just an all round better game. It feels like football. At least you can pass anyway, lol

Just came here after playing champs. Just got scored against in the 47 th min, 93 and 121 to go to penalties and lose there. All goals were horrible and i could not do anything as my defence played like bronze on all occasions. Just feeling trash and got the game 3 days ago. Might just delete it as it gets you sick. Can not wait to check out UFL and hope they manage to create a game based on skill as i feel like i have 0 control in Fifa over my players and every game feels miserable.
The only thing that's keeping players somewhat playing this game is the content they release every day. I think they are doing good in SBC stuff, but what's the point if the gameplay is trash and you can't even use the card cause it's not "Meta". This is honestly the first Fifa where it feels like I have to play so many games to just win one game or at least convince myself that I can't be that bad when playing.

I'm about to jack it in. Evos and WL are the only modes I kind of enjoy. But the game is so broken. Online is almost pointless such is the randomness of outcomes.
You are so right. I starting playin with a non meta team i love, with Riquelme, Messi, and a team that plays with 2 stickers and builds up a play with quick passing, short and long passes, and building up spaces. I lost like if it was my first time playing this game. I know use a Premier League/ La liga team, with only Meta players and Meta tactics so i can play and win some games. I am not the best player in the world, but i played all versions of Fifa and Pes since Super Nintendo and PS1. It was not made to give you a big variety of playstiles and players, each with its pros and cons, as it should be. There are one or two ways to play this game, and a very short list of players that adapt to this game mechanics. All the rest is garbage.

When defending against fast players during a counter, you want to prime your defenders to keep up with those players. What I’ve notice is that sometimes that defender don’t sprint until the attacker receives the ball and with players Mbappe and Vini it’s impossible to stop them once they get going, providing them with a greater head start.. Sometimes players without pace can do this too, like Harry Kane, which is odd. But my biggest grip are your players offensive runs. Sometimes they would make a good run then suddenly stop once the pass is made, thus the pass gets cut out. The player isn’t offside and I would rather you commit to that run and get an offside call rather having to defend against a counter attack or if I’ve noticed that you’re offside then I can re strategise. These half hearted runs are so annoying, they will only commit if you do a one-two. There’s others but these really annoy me.
Yep, conceded because the player i didn't control. First started to track the through ball keeping close to the attacker, then when the ball flies over his head. He just stopped looked at the beautiful sky, waited when the player was behind him then to start running again, i know i should have switch to the defender earlier but common. just track the run and then let me switch... or the hiding behind enemy defenders. I pass he's free ball comes close he takes a few steps to hide behind the defender and the defender gets the ball.
I noticed too, there's a little "lag" when you switch to a player already sprinting, even if you have the assistance turned on in the settings so they keep sprinting
bullshit. i have vini and he cant get passed anyone. doesnt matter if they have 50 pace the cb will be faster

@dagnoldiagonal do you play with manual passing or assisted passing? I hate the ping pong passing online with the assisted passing. Its terrible.
I agree with everything u have said there's no skill gap the ai does most things for players that play the meta than player's that try and play actual football

The ai only works for the opp. When i have the ball, my ai is thick as 💩
My respect to you, this is probably the best video to show how bad the game is with one simple match, you included everything that makes this game bad, except for one thing.. the servers, and how many times delay causes for you to make mistakes like the ones you mentioned before.

EA is going to monetize and build FC24 the same way 2K are doing with NBA. Badges and animations that you spam will determine if you win. And make gameplay dependent on those things so it makes you buy packs (VC in 2K) so you can have the promo with the latest playstyles(badges) and meta. It’s not in their intrest to fix your frustration. They’re trying to use your frustration to get you to pay for better meta

Great video! This is the First Fifa where I feel im just limited to maybe 2-3 formations, If i try anything else i get steamrolled. On top of that, how many of us are just anxiously waiting for someone to finesse out the box when theres space? Lastly, whats annoying is having your whole team back and the defensive midfielders etc just watch the opponent go by you. Its horrible. Once you get to Division 3 and Higher youll know what i mean. EA taking forever to update these broken mechanics is crazy. They are so out of touch with whats good gameplay currently…
100% Facts! Im in Division 3 currently, have tried many formations, tactics, etc and sometimes can't win a game for hours. Some can say it's a skill problem, but do I really wanna be a rat, finese outside the box, do unrealistic skills, R1 dribble, just to get a goal and be content? Hell no. I wanna do tiki taka, short passing games, and see the tactics DO what they say. In Other fifas you at least won some or lost some, but hey you won some. Idk this game just seems defensive based and no one plays this sport/game to survive defending. Its crazy. Holding a 3-0 lead Is like going to Vietnam.

Unfortunately I've been promoted back to div 3 where everyone is a 72 depth rat. I utterly refuse to play 72 depth and people get high press goals and they think they're good. It's the worst game I've experienced on FIFA for a very long time

I've observed a slight delay in the response when I make a tackle, as it takes a few milliseconds to react. are there anyone else experiencing it or maybe im having some other issues( not gameplay)

It will always be like that because people want the way they play so badly to be skill based that they will tell you it's a skill issue. For example I mastered the player lock to get some correct movement out of a player. Is it a skill? Maybe but you shouldn't even have to use it to get open that's not where the skill should come from in a football game. Same with keeper movement, it technically is a skill but also a massive bail out mechanic and if you are broken down you should probably get scored on unless your opponent messes up the shot, which is hard to say if he even did because the finishing without finesse + is horrendous and inconsistent.

FIFA 23 had a skill gap I grinded and perfected my tactics and I got way better I never quite reached div 1 bc I’m not that good but in ea fc 24 you can’t go past div 5 without changing into the meta tactics and it’s just not fun
One thing I haven’t seen anyone talk about is the tripping. Why is my player falling down whenever the opponents does and why is that not called a foul makes absolutely no sense and ruins great chances

This video was very cathartic for me. I've played 100 hours of this game after not playing a FIFA game for years, I thought it was just that I'm bad, but no, I've had all this stuff happen to me over and over and over. I refuse to use any pay to win mechanics, and I've actually got a really good team considering, but I don't have a full back line of Anticipate+...
It both hilarious and awful at the same time when you make 3 tackles and somehow the opponent still has the ball, you make a 4th tackle just before he shoots, you push him off balance but he finesse shots it straight into the goal...
That 1 bar pass kills me everytime. Everytime I try it it goes across the field 😂😂😂
another thing that its really bad this year are lobbed thru balls. it never passes to the open space always passes the closest to a defender. and I have it on semi assisted. dont even wanna imagine how assisted is

I've been looking for a video like this for years, the things that get you mad while playing fc 24 are the same that get me mad. I've been thinking that i wasn't born to play it, since the AI and I don't think the same, we're in different channel. I expect my player to follow my play but they go somewhere else and I end up loosing the ball to players with less skills than I. It's so annoying and frustrating... I struggle to control myself and don't smash my controller towards the wall every single time I play. Still, when the game behaves, I spend a good time. But it's 1 every 5 times that happens

My passing feels very weak for some reason on this compared to FIFA 23, when my passing was on point and strong. My players as usual play like 90 year old men.
Back when I played FIFA 14, I felt like I was actually able to control my players properly whereas in FC24 my players can’t run and don’t even react to anything, when they get tackled they start rolling over the pitch everywhere and that obviously annoys me

Mate, you just spoke my mind! It's quite hard to leave the game completely, it's kind of an addiction. I decided that if there is something really annoying in the game i'm actually in, I quit right away by closing the game and not reopening it after. Makes me feel a lot better.
have had the same experience as yours. don't understand why the next player was not as indicated when it said it to be so. The skating issue is the other problem as when I was defending it was difficult for my defender to keep up with the ball holder if he suddenly changed his direction.
I was playing a game in division rivals I was absolutely destroying this guy 7-1 then i paused the game and it ended up crashing, I was thinking maybe the game would award me the win because the match was about to finish and the crash was no fault of my own but I loaded up the game again and saw that I wasn’t awarded the win, I immediately uninstalled this broken sorry excuse of a game, it isn’t just this one moment, there are so many bugs and glitches in this game as well as the unresponsive gameplay. How tf EA can sell this game for $70 is criminal absolutely fucking criminal

Totally agree. I recently send a video to friends about the attacking AI after a kickoff. It's atrocious. Litterally no one of my team even makes an effort to join the attack, zero other teamplayers in a 30 meter radius. And the passes straight to the opposition; leaving you thinking constantly "Am I this bad, or is the game just f*cked up?"
5:20 😂 one time the ball was going to one of my players but it did not switch automatically to my player and I did it manually and still did not work, the player closer to the ball was running away from the ball lmfao…..which in the end i lost the ball and conceded
Biggest complaint I have about the game is why does a 76 pace player catch up to a player with 91 pace

Mate I haven't played FIFA or EAFC for years but I 100% had to sub :D This video surfaced my FIFA PTSD, badly. Pretty much all of the issues you experienced in your one match gameplay are the same issues that have been there for half a decade, or more. It's just so annoying and sad that the game is not evolving but rather EA just effectively pushes out the same game each year (gameplay vise).
Some issues I would add to the turdpile: ball going through bodyparts, blocking player does some weird unnatural movement to allow the ball to go through - like moving their leg or body suddenly and very quickly as well, unexplainable bursts of speed from off-the-ball players - like you're 5 feet away from someone going after a with a quick player and they just easily catch up with a few steps, collision and dodging animations that take you out of position and the list just goes on and on...
I wish you all the mental fortitude for dealing with this game and I will follow your journey from the sidelines.

When you are trying to switch rice and you switch ur left back instead and pulling him out (thinking it's rice you've swithched) hence creating a bigg acre of land for ur opponent to do damage...... That is EA fixing. Happens mostly in the dying minutes of the game
I was expecting people to talk about in the comments more on how broken the switching of players on defense is. Most of the time I lose matches just on this, I can’t switch to the right player on critical passes and makes me switch to a player that I had no thought on getting, that creates an opening.
And crosses are broken, make a perfect cross for my forward or running in winger and it switches to the opposite player the ball is going to. And if I try to switch players it either doesn’t let me switch or it switches but then my header goes over the goal cuz it thought I tried to lob the keeper

I still occasionally play fifa 21 online and it’s really telling to me how much smoother and logical the game play is…way better than when it was the current version which leads me to think even more than it’s not so much like bad game design or mechanics as much as it’s the game deliberately making things chaotic and unpredictable to act more efficiently as a Skinner box
So what football games should I play on mobile or ps5? (Like games with actual player bases like a lot of players or just known ones)

This is precisely why I have stopped playing this game in any serious capacity. The randomness makes this game absolutely infuriating and quite frankly, makes me a worse person.

It's so disgusting actually, everytime I play I want to tear my hair out. My team is not moving at all and when I'm about to lose it they start sprinting fowards and when the opposition AI intercepts a bad pass because ofc he has high pressing which means I'm in a 1v3 every time and well it's a clean counterattack 3v3. Idk what's the point of playing the game and passing in the midfield when ur only strategy is to sprint on the wing and cheese dribble in the box or else get AI pressing destroyed.
No wonder i was struggling hard when i come back to play fifa from 2017 to 2023-2024. My strategy is highly depending on passing but now i need a lot of dribbling because the ai just wont be where they should be

The worst part is that bad players think they're good whereas football games 10-15 years ago, a better player beats the bad player 19/20 times until the bad player learns things from the good player which leads to improvement. This game actually rewards you for being bad, it's horrendous.
I am playing Fifa 22 (got it from Playstation Plus) as that is the only recent Fifa I have since 17, and everything you call out as a problem I am encountering there as well. Have never raged from Fifa before playing that version, glad to see I am not missing out on anything by not buying the new games...
Same but my last FIFA before the 22 was the 18, no way I’m buying the same game every year.

It’s sad how they only focus on improving the graphics but the gameplay is terrible

EA adding gambling on top of that. higher ups care only about money so forget about changes in other aspects of game that doesn't make them money. Carrer mode is so sad and fucking booooooooring. You still see same bugs sometimes even more than b4 like how hard it is to copy and paste same game you literally have 1 year to delete bugs and change numbers on players....

i think this is the worst fifa ever created, and all of those things you showed in the video i related to them and felt them, such a anti fun game, its so frustrating that it really makes your day worse, it's really sad that there is no competition on the market which leaves this dogshit company do whatever they want without punishment, they still get money by making the trashiest and the most out of touch games, thank god i quit this horrible game weeks ago

For me as I’ve grew up playing fifa and obviously been maturing around this game I’ve mastered the art of not giving a fuck anymore cause I’m fully accustomed to having nothing in my control anymore so i don’t stress myself anymore

I remember when I bought Fifa 20 and I was ripping my hair out because of the non existant attacking AI... and that was infuriating enough without the 71 depth exploit (thank god i didnt buy the game this year either)

Attacking AI is a top 3 worst thing in this game, unbelievably bad
1)There's an option on fc24 that tells you everything you need to know - Assisted passing - We'll help you with the pace of a pass but not with direction - So basically, we'll do the opposite of what's convenient or intuitive. 2) I've no idea what a through pass is anymore. Used to be a pass was to the person, a through pass was to space ... not anymore. 3) This guys right, they could make a better game, they literally choose not to
At 5:29 the weird jumps of defenders is the main bug of this game. Every game with score of tennis from this JUMPS (25% of the goals+- with some weird jump of someone).

Absolutely spot on! My main focus is on enjoying the game rather than obsessing over the result, but It's genuinely frustrating when most outcomes are a result of the game's own mistakes rather than my own actions. I'm really glad someone finally highlighted these issues. A game of this caliber shouldn't be this subpar. The game is just not good. As long as the game's outcome is determined more by its poor and frustrating gameplay rather than the players' skills, FIFA/FC24 won't gain traction as an eSports game.
I am all for realism in football games and that's why I'm still playing PES 21, but whatever EA FC is it is NOT realistic. It's a game based around every player being perfect at everything but sometimes they make the most NPC like mistakes and they try to brush it off as realism. They had to pick a side in this whole realism thing, not keep the worst parts of both scenarios and call it a day

I was laughing all the way through this. This is like this every game. It's so bad. I'm amazed this got through testing, that's how bad it is. I did wonder if I was being unfair so I loaded up 23. Considering that wasn't great, it still feels 10x better and feels like a football game. Assisted shooting where you aim for the corner and it's blasted wide. Defenders running away from their man and leaving a hugeee space for them to run into. Or my absolute favourite pressing through ball and it deliberately taking its time to release it, by which time your man is offside. It's trash, absolutely awful... Amazing. 😂😂😂
It has always been bad, but It’s a lot worse this year. The AI is atrocious. Legendary mode isn’t harder, your players just run slower, make shitty tackles while the AI spams cut backs and Messi dribbling. The sad thing is, there’s no great alternative at the moment, and EA is going to see people put hours into the game and say “if they’re still playing, it must be good”

Everything you said in this video was pure facts keep it up fully agree with you no skill cap what so ever since fifa 17 and people think triggering runs and using direct passing and 71 depth and broken skill moves and cut backs and op play styles a skill its really sad

We need this vid. This breaks the game in so many ways. Career mode defending is broken because of this, almost any game on higher difficulties still end up with like 10 goals, 4-5, 6-4, 3-7 and so on. Very authentic... It got real worse already in FIFA 23.
Thank you for making this video! I saw that it was on sale in the PSN store for 29.99 and was about to get it. But, I thought to myself, there has to be a good reason why it's on sale for 60% off. Played Fifa 11, 12, 14, 15, and a bit of 22. Still had the same issues you had mentioned before, and I'm a disappointed they haven't made any good ones recently.

I understand but bro, it's a video game! When you have 87+ players all over the pitch they should play well consistently, not always mess up every pass and touch, that's the problem with the game, you lose more than you win because of the inconsistency in gameplay.

I just got a PS5 yesterday and downloaded EA FC 24 from PSN Plus. This is the worst football game I've ever played. The last FIFA I played was FIFA 21. I've taken year-long breaks from FIFA before but I've never seen this drastic decrease in gameplay quality. EA ruined a great game. Smh.
I also like how the referee is not reacting when my opponent almost kicks me in half

The fact that they incorporated Overload Ballside into Balanced Defense and have it triggered by 45 depth is enough for me to call it a bad game.
They put it in their pitch notes before the game came out and called it Zonal Defense.
This is the reason why your players stand still in the midfield and why you constantly have to use switch of play to break the press.
Defensively, this is the reason why those same midfielders and other defenders go out of position because the AI is constantly telling them to push towards the ball carrier and cut off passing lanes.
Until they get rid of this , i don't think we should even be talking about other issues.

I fully agree. But it is always like this because we have a player rating. The 87 rated players at this stage must play much worse than the 99 rated players at the end of the game. And the only idea which EA is able to implement is the higher random factor for the low rated players.
Not really, It's the same for 99 rated players, they didnt move well in the field and sometimes just passes to far
We didn't have these issues in the past with people using bronzes or silvers or OP golds. I'd rather return to that, tbh
Just got the game and i normally play on legendary diff and win like 8/10 games, in this game i lose to HSV at world class diff. What is going on i almost smashed my set up after 2 matches

In Manager Career Mode, do we still can't do a fully COM-controlled match simulation like PES's Master League? I like FIFA's player development setup, it's the one thing that's superior to PES's ML but it is kinda tiring to have me always play it by myself, and it's always either play the match by myself or skipping the match entirely on the previous FIFA games I've tried. Sometimes I just want to lay back and watch the COM vs COM AI play the match like how I do it on Master League. Honestly it's ridiculous if they still didn't add this feature.
And about the Player Career Mode, do we still can't do something like requesting our agent or club to try a transfer deal to a specific club like how PES can do with their Become A Player Mode? Like let's say I played in a mid table EPL club, but then I want to try moving towards certain club on a different league, do we still can't do that and still have to rely on the random offers after asking the manager to put our player to be listed on the transfer list? Not to mention that if we're one of the important players, getting the approval to be listed is already ridiculously hard.
in the last 3 FIFA games I've played (21 22 and 23), none of those games can do these.
I took a 4 year break from the game and now I'm back and obsessed on UT as much as I can... And when I can't I'm thinking about it on Futbin. Knock it off you need a break.

My mental health genuinely got better not buying eafc. At the end of Fifa23, i had every 99 rated player in the game. Yet, my players could not seem to make simple passes

Yet somehow i loose against rat kids with gold card versions of good players and one match my players are sonic the hedgehog fast but the next match they are slower than a 1950's Ford truck.
