Before it was damaged - the classroom uke was worth $1.50. After Pete smashed it - $1700!
I’d pay more.
@@lionessmummy4418 and me, more than you.
Renan xxx0xxx I don’t doubt it! 🥰
😏😂
No doubt Jimmy is keeping it
I love how Pete Townshend went from "I don't want to be here" to "This is the most fun playing music I had in a long time!" 😄
That's Pete in nutshell, isn't it?!
Outstanding jam session boys. Has this been 3yrs in the making already. Who how time goes bye.
I know right. This is actually awesome, and why didn't I see Pete smashing the uke coming?
@@dominysynclair You gotta get more in touch with your angry youth side first!
The complete Pete.
Is it me...or does the world lighten up a little when Pete Townsend breaks into an honest, heartfelt grin?
Agreed! Even Roger would agree to that.
@@SD-vj6gz Get your facts straight before you post..
Love me some Pete T
Right-O ... and plus Jimmy and The ROOTS !! ... Spectacular...
We all knew what was gonna happen to that ukulele...
Almost nothing can elicit a literal LOL out of me these days, but that did.
That ukulele had seconds to live…😂😂😂😂😂
Lol
Poor thing never had a chance 😂
ha😂
Pete Townsend smashing a ukulele. i'm dead.
Rock & roll
IKR?
Daniel Briggs - but no windmill☹️
@@doogle-gf3fi true.
He seemed better at smashing that playing it. This was really fun and Daltry killed it. Pete looked a bit worn out (outside of the uke smashing thing), and can't tell, but looks like his hearing issues are impacting his playing (here and in recent concert footage last week). BUT, I'll take any Who I can get.
Pete and Roger looked like they had a blast doing this version!!! This is PRICELESS! National treasure.
They definitely were having fun.
Love your profile pic. >^_^
I hope you’re British, otherwise, I’ve got some bad news...
@@suzannejensen275 Thanx 💖 I wear big glasses in real life like this kitty. 😆😆
Pete looks like they just got him out of a prison
It’s one thing to have a job that lets you interact with some of the most interesting people in our society, but…to sit between Daltrey & Townsend, joining them in a performance of one of Rock’s greatest songs… *ON TOYS* …that’s gotta be a memory of a lifetime.
Ashay and Amen!
if this doesn't make you smile, there's something wrong with you. Excellent
I love how Jimmy brings out the kid in his guests.
Yes hahahaha...
Impossible to watch this and not smile!
That was me 😊
Glad it's not just me. I had a silly grin all the way through it!
Billy Green ikr
Oh, seeing fallon always wipes any smiles off my face, this is no exception.
@@welshgit I just had a feeling to smash a guitar on the table, don't know why 😂 😂 😂 🇬🇧
I saw The Who in concert tonight and they said on stage that Jimmy reminded them both so much of Keith that it made them miss him all over again. Rest easy Moonie🤘🏻
Sarah Skupien I was at the Nashville show too. Loved the classic hits with orchestra
My in-laws organized and played in the orchestra! They did amazing :)
Sarah Skupien How was the show?? We've got great seats in Atlanta in October..cannot wait! I haven't seen them in concert since 1975! Of course Keith and John willed be missed but I'm sure it will still be incredible! Cheers
When you play it again, it looks like Jimmy turns and says "Moon?" to Pete....and then he cracks up!
awwwh
Roger's voice is still incredible!
Right? Let's just say he sounds "just like yesterday"
Look how serious Pete Townshend is on his toy guitar (or ukulele) 😂 lol
ukulele.
I think he hated it and that’s why he broke it.
@@thomasarnt2933 looks like a little toddlers toy guitar to me but whatever.
@@mojokg13 ukelele
Hopes he does not smash it. Edit: damn.
The best part about this is that they are having fun, and they were able to make the song into something knew.
*New
A classic on so many levels! Everyone is having a blast, and it sounds great, too!
It makes it more fun because they are all sandwiched together in a small space jamming.
This performance can heal the world.
I watched this whole thing just to see if Roger could scream the way he did on the original recording. I wasn't disappointed.
David Dutton I was just hoping whatever Pete was holding wouldn’t be intact at the end.
saw him live in 2017... just swept off my feet. Roger is absolutely amazing! I hope I have that vitality 40 years from now (because I know I'll never sing like that anyway - as most people won't ever do, too)
Roger never disappoints!!! 😎
Go see this tour! I have been to concerts for 45 years, and saw The WHO 4 times. You won't be disappointed again. His scream is better live, when I saw them in 2016. Now my wife and kids get to see ELO, and I hope Dhani Harrison does some of George's Beatles songs.
@@tweetybird59 I know me too! Going to see them in September. Wouldn't miss it for the world..haven't seen them since 1975. Glad it was so good, but then how could it not be?? ❤❤❤
Not a fan of Fallon, but this is by far the greatest thing he's ever done! Always great to see Pete enjoying himself, and Roger was brave to be within striking distance of the drum mallet that Fallon was swinging with the same reckless abandon that Rog' used to swing a microphone. Mad props to Quest Love and the Roots for delivering yet another solid performance!
Agreed, Failon is a prick leftist. But this is cool.
Also enter sandman with Metallica always makes me chuckle
Couldn’t have said it better. All the guys looked chuffed ⭐️
"All I Want for Christmas is You" on school instruments with Mariah Carey and the pop-up kids chorus is equally good.
Pete looks bored 😴
Pete was determined to play that ukulele likes its never been played before.
That was NOTHING short of BRILLIANT!
Fallon is probably the most bombastic drummer the Who have had since the passing of Moonie.
Townshend smashing the uke as the cherry on top of the sundae.
Ha, ha, ha. The Jimmy Fallon Jam session with the Who was so fun. Roots were really feeling it, too. Pete Townsend destroying his Ukulele at the end was perfect!
This is a joyful masterpiece give us more of the Who doing this type of stuff!!!! with other groups also PLEASE!!!!!! Children could learn from this and start actual not virtual groups!!!!!! Thank you all!!!!!
That was the Best! Words cannot describe how much I love this. I had to share it with almost my entire family
One of the greatest remakes of a classic rock song I've ever heard.
Every classic band needs to do a cover of their hits in this manner.
Right⁉️
i love how Roger’s strong, passive-aggressive voice contradicts the light, joyful instruments
Can't stop smiling and laughing watching this. When Pete smashed the Ukulele, 😂it's The WHO. Roger's voice, still great.
Great version. Pete smashing the ukulele was the cherry on top.
Oh this made me so happy. Pete committing fully to his tiny toy guitar cracks me up!
That's a ukulele. They're supposed to be that size.
Great musicians can rock with any instrument.
I think Jimmy was like “whoa im actually jamming with The Who!”
He looks so burned out in this one tho
JJ Ryan yeah true i think he was tired and excited lol
A testament to Mr. Daltry's still amazing voice.
Classic busking 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 🍾🍾🍾🍾...... and Pete smashing his 😂😂😂......LEGENDARY !!!!
Roger still sounding amazing and looking pretty good too 😉
I'd hit it.
You'd be surprised actually. His voice was going out 30 years ago. He's not even near what he was then. This was just a light jingle... no strain on the vocals. I do agree with you though, that he looks great.
hejiranyc 🙂👍
That’s a real good looking boy
No kidding
2:50 Even while doing a spoof of his own song, Roger still puts in his all
one of the coolest versions of a classic song ever
So blessed to have seen The Who live, twice! This is great!
As a big Who fan, really enjoyed it 😀
The Who are just Fab no matter what!!! Did they pay full price for those classy instruments? Jimmy is loving it! Pete and Rodger are two of my heros, not to mention...................😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Breaking the ukulele was priceless like a kid in a tantrum but with good intentions.
Pure Joy!!!!
First time I see the Roots having so much fun in classroom instruments video!!!
First time they played with Rock Gods
John O'Brien i really enjoy watching them.
I was thinking the same thing!!!!!!! The Roots looked so happy to play that song! That jus made me happy.
@@johnobrien1528 If you're playing with The Who, you're going down in the history books. Legends.
Especially Tarik
MAN. You could tell everyone was having so much fun in that one. Total jam.
that was awesome, especially Pete Townsend usually breaking his guitar
I grew up in the 80s and 90s so the Who in their heyday was before my time though I still appreciate their music as well as classic rock in general. Hopefully for the later generations there will still be "influencers" who will continue the tradition of appreciation of the 60s and 70s classic rock era
It's only bloody Rock Royalty.....awesome. 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
l Can't Stop Watching this it's so good l love Roger saying "I'm Leaving the Band" 🤣
It was perfect. Even the guitar broke on time.
It's not Who unless Townsend destroys guitar 🎸!! 😀🎶🎤🎶
The only moment the poor guitar made a sound during that song !
@@loiclejannou4751 It died a glorious death!
It's a ukulele
I've always enjoyed these classroom covers, but this was just next level.... I know that Jimmy is always enthusiastic, but I just got pure joy out of watching The Roots play "Won't get fooled again", because it looked like they were having so much fun with such an old classic. Perhaps the message of the song?
Absolutely phenomenal!
PS: How sweet was that at the end, when Pete Turned around and clapped for the great job on backup from the Guys from The Roots!!
They've (The Roots) have sure been lucky to play with such legendary bands!
Margaret from Canada
Roger still got it!
I saw the Who in May 2022 in DC, I couldn't BELIEVE how good Roger sounded!
Yes he does! I had great seats at the show last summer and he sounded as good as he always did!
That was BADASS!!
I LOVED this ! Roger can still belt it out and Pete breaking the toy guitar had me on the floor lol .
Wow I swear Roger never ever ages he still looks as good as he did when he was young and I’m loving Pete’s red jumpsuit
I absolutely love the Classroom Instruments musical segments. This one was fabulous!
Pete's UK smash!
just like the old days!!
Tried to watch Roger & Pete, but couldn't keep my eyes off Tariq. He was just as into it as I was at 15! I love seeing people appreciate the Classic Rock I grew up with!!💙
Much love to Jimmy, the Roots, and of course the Who!!💙💙
Well said & well spotted ! 🎶
Absolutely priceless. Even with the classroom instruments the songs holds its ground. Daltrey as great as ever, Townsend doing his thing. More of these!!!!
I’m so glad Roger Daltry didn’t die before he got old. But wait, I don’t think he got old yet.
Haha, that's really funny! 😎
👍😎 Now that was funny
Townsend wrote that, though. I'm glad he didn't mean it literally. Moon was the band member who unfortunately did die before he got old. Entwistle made it a bit longer. Long live 'The Two'!
This is one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen! And I’ve seen The Who live!
They killed it~
This is great. The who, fallon, and the roots. Loved the end, everyone threw down their toy instruments. Classic pt.
Do no stop making these. They are awesome.
Much respect to these two gents!! Mr Daltrey n Mr Townshend, still going!! Legends indeed!!
In the words of the great Chris Farley - That was friggin AWESOME!
Exactly, and it was!! Chris was the funniest ever when he interviewed Paul McCartney on SNL one time. Kept telling Paul that the Beatles were friggin awesome and kept asking him over and over if he remembered when he was in TheBeatles?? Paul's reaction was priceless!
LOVE how much Tariq really caught the Holy Ghost @ 2:55-3mins !
Love The Who & Keith Moon in spirit via the drum track
A great song is a great song no matter how it’s redone or revisited.
Wow, that was excellent!! Mad props to Roger & Pete and of course the Roots. Fallon was Mooning out 😂
Loved the subtlety!
I was waiting for poor Roger to get a black eye.
Love Jimmy, the Roots, and the Who even more... This couldn't miss!
Never thought i'd see one of my favourite bands on Jimmy Fallon...
Looked like they were all having fun! Glad to see!
Yeah, they’ve been on his show a few times before too. Good stuff!
Pete has the best laugh ever
Pure genius! Fallon was so into it. I never knew you could dance to WGFA.
Loved it!!!
Oh man! This is so... refreshing especially from guys that age taking the piss at themselves! I agree with Daniel, Pete smashing the ukulele had me in tears! More, please!
Love it ❤ absolutely hilarious too! 😂 Roger Daltrey still has an incredible voice! Yeah! 😊
Pure mayhem!
Just love it!
Awesome that Pete busted his guitar! It’s a long tradition!
I really hope this series goes on forever 😂😂
They sound likey rehearsed for weeks...and Rogers vocals top notch...the band sounded great!
The Who were the perfect rock band back in the day
If an Alien comes from outer space and says "What's rock music like?" Hand them one album, Live at Leeds, drop your imaginary mic and leave the room.
Black Thought killing it on the tambourine!!!
Now that’s love.
This is heading to #1 on the Billboard charts like a bullet.
Pete Townsend smashing his ukulele is a mood that im here for
The Who! the Roots, Jimmy and classroom instruments! Honestly? Does it get any better? Awesome!
One of my favorite joints by The Who. Roger Daltrey looks incredible at 75 yo. Black Thought in the back praising everything that's holy. Lol! This is awesome! 😝😝❤❤

The Who can play with these instruments and still fill up Wembley stadium.👏
Friggin' halarious...!
Song of my dad..my song for many years, and now song for my little girl...Thanks for the rock The Who...
Just how the Communist's planned it.
Thats awesome !!!
I'm glad I lived long enough to see this! Keith and John would have loved it. Great song and still true!
I'm not a huge Fallon fan but dang this was great! Pete and Roger obviously having a blast. Best backing band ever!
This is everything!!! I was in 4th grade (39 years ago) when I fell in love with The Who!!!
Awesome! Best band ever.
Two of the best frontmen of one of the best rock n' roll bands ever! Can't wait to see them in October.
This is superb, right down to the Townsend guitar destruction at the end.
Best one yet.
Classroom Instruments session is always pure joy and I love it!
A friend showed me this today. One of the most awesomest things ive ever seen.
Amazing how it translates.
Just the most joyful thing I have watched in a while. Thank you Pete and Roger for being game for such hilarious awesomeness.
