You’re doing great. This fantastic game doesn’t get enough attention. You are well articulated and giving great summarization. Keep up the good work! Keep going!
I’m a forever DM that was burning out on DnD, so we decided to give EotE a try. We did our session 0 tonight, and your videos have been amazingly helpful at walking us through character creation and the basics.
new sub here. im trying to master a new adventure here but i have issues with the spaceships and space combat, im waiting for that. well done keep going!!
Superb job explaining and summarizing character creation in clear steps with great examples interwoven throughout. ;) But … You state that a character begins to “die” when they have surpassed their wound threshold. I am not sure that you are correct on that. You do fall unconscious and in doing so, you also do earn a crit. But I don’t think you begin dying. I could be wrong - will need another check of the rule book - but I think you are just injured and unconscious. Anyway, great overall video and video series - I will recommend this to friends and beginning players. Take care. And may the force be with you…
You are correct. Outside of a situation where unconsciousness would cause a person to begin dying (e.g. falling unconscious underwater or onto a corrosive surface), or massive damage on an enormous scale, surpassing Wound Threshold only triggers unconsciousness and a critical hit, and surpassing Strain Threshold just triggers unconsciousness. It's actually pretty tough to die in this game! ...not that I'm complaining, mind you.
One thing that was missed, you get free ranks in skills based on your career and specialization. Choose 4 of the career skills and 2 of the specialization skills to gain ranks in. Droids get even more
Obligation, duty, morality was a good idea of game, however we decided to just do deep character development instead. Writing a detailed backstory and writing about personality, good, bad things, weaknesses, extra good things, clumsiness, etc. My star wars gunslinger/pirate always roles at least one setback when piloting. Lol. We act less nerdy...even though I'm a nerd. We act literally like acting during a game. We act out, change our voice, play the role in full detail, get acting attitudes or manipulations and the biggest part, lots of humor and crazy peril that is fun and entertaining.
