Could be that your quad and hip flexors are tight and pulling on the tendons, causing the tendon just below the knee to be pulled everytime you flex your quad which would happen in a kick

Yes, as a soccer player I suffered from this and I regret not using both legs for both sports, now that I have developed my weak leg striking is a lot more fluid and smoother

Maybe it’s an injury you have. Maybe try letting it heal? Or you probably need to stretch before doing kicks
Get ur knee checked with an ultrasound cos they can check your joints for inflammation cos it could be arthritis.
