The bébé Oslo hat omg 🥹! Congratulations auntie Leslie!!! And as usual, your Lento in that color is gorgeous!! You make me so curious to try mohair, but I have such sensitive skin so I may start with a hat or gloves first before committing.
Thank you for all the info on your Lento; it was very helpful. I’m knitting one now, I started out with size 3 but it looked small so I increased one extra round to put it at the amount of stitches of a size 4. I’m a 39.5” bust but I have small bony shoulders so I think it’ll work out. I’m just coming down the body and I was going to do the ribbing in the same size needle but after listening to you I may go down to the suggested needle size; I don’t care for a cinched in waist unless it’s a little shorter or cropped. Yours came out beautiful; love the color.
Wool and Company is my LYS yay! Everything is looking so good I am knitting vicariously through you 😂 can’t wait for the Explorer preorder I have never bought yarn this way it’s making me anxious lol
Thanks Kristen! Just make sure you are prepared for the pre-order! Make sure you know exactly what you want before it opens so you can be quick in your purchases :)
I love that raspberry yarn for your Semper!! For the cardigan, maybe Ponti by Sari Norland? Or Andrea Mowry has a few - Ginny, Stria (in one color?), Oxbow, Big Cozy Cardigan. Petite Knit also has the Agnete cardigan!
I hope you're ready for a book because I have so much to say about this episode 😅. First off that purple hat is totally your color! I'd play yarn chicken. One of the things I love so much about knitting is making it specifically for your own preferences; I always push my sleeves up so realize there's no point in me knitting more than 3/4 unless it's an outerwear garment. I'm finishing up my second Lento today and it's going to be hard to want to knit any other raglan now simply because of the value in the yarn used🤯. Also why I'll never knit an Oslo hat, I refuse to use more than one skein for a hat. The raspberry sweater is so juicy. Great episode! Also you should check out purl Soho tussock; same yardage and composition as lang lace but you can get it for $18 when they have a 25% sale 😉
Haha Teresa, I love it! Yes! I love that a pattern may suggest sleeves to be a certain length, but then every knitter can actually choose to knit what they like best :) Haha the Oslo hat is such a good finished object, but I hear you! I WISH it was only one skein of yarn! And oh wow, yes, I'm definitely going to check out Purl Soho Tussock! Thanks!!
Just curious, how do you swatch? A lot of people knit tighter in the round vs. knitting flat because their knit stitches are a bit tighter than their purls. The differences between swatch and actual project is why I'm a huge fan of a mid-project block 😊
I just looked this one up and I'm adding it to the consideration list! I've never done cartridge rib before, but I'm open to trying anything and I really like the look of it. I would probably leave off the cable detail, but that shouldn't be too difficult of a modification. Thanks for the suggestion!
Hey!! I don’t know if you’re still looking for cardigans but have you seen the Agnete cardigan by petite knit? I think it’s brioche, but not sure if it’s the style you had in mind 😊

Are you worried that the Untamed will bleed into the white? Maybe do 3 thicker stripes kind of rugby style? Cardigan suggestion is by Lizzie from Hive Knits? Love all your makes and I always learn so much! TY 😊
Hi Julie! I am worried about the Untamed bleeding into the undyed white and I probably should swatch and block it first... but I got way too excited about the yarn combo and worried about not having enough that I just cast on right away!
As a beginner knitter, I find your podcasts so helpful. As a thought for a new podcast, I would love your input on your top 5 sweaters for beginners.

Wait, have you tried Suri yet?? I find it’s wayyyy softer, has zero itch, and it super warm!
@@knitcalifornia I think I have suri, I have two gray skeins
Love the podcast. Babies heads are 13 “ in circumference. But they grow fast, so they will grow into any hat you make. ❤
I'm sure I'll be making the little guy many, many hats!

Hi JoJo! Thanks for watching! I would maybe suggest a needle size between the body and the suggested ribbing needle to get a more straight hem!
@@knitcalifornia 👍🏼will do.

The Stria is one that I am considering! That's the style I'm going for, and it is size inclusive :)
@@knitcalifornia I want to cast on a stria too! I knit the stria hat and it was sooo squishy. I love the fabric half fisherman’s rib creates.
maybe you would like the First cardigan by Hive knits. the half fisherman rib is only ont the sleeves though ...
The First Cardigan is beautiful! But I am looking for something with full texture :)
@@knitcalifornia the Agnete cardigan (Petite knit) is full texture

For sweaters I’ve been trying to swatch in the round! I have like no patience for swatching though so my swatches end up being so tiny 😂
Do you like cartridge rib? It’s easy to do. I’m on the last sleeve of my For Keeps cardigan by Samantha Guerin.
I just looked this one up and I'm adding it to the consideration list! I've never done cartridge rib before, but I'm open to trying anything and I really like the look of it. Yes! I’ve been watching Tiffany Liew knit hers and I love it! I think I’m going to make the Seasons Cardigan by Ozetta first though ♥️

Doesn’t Andrea Mowry have several oversized cardigans?
For sure! I'm considering the Stria cardigan.
