Unfortunately, coworkers know what they are doing. I don’t believe in the leading by example or being naive when dealing with a toxic coworker. Go to work, do your job, keep those coworkers at bay (work related conversation only, nothing personal) get paid and go home. That’s it and that’s all.

The 2 main things I learned in the past 15yrs about working:
It's not worth being a shift lead or supervisor at a job you're not the owner of. You'll just be a glorified babysitter with a false sense of power.
Coworkers will act like they want to be friends only to gossip about you. Just go to work, do a good job and go home. It's important to have a full personal life so you don't get caught up with flip floppy ppl at work.

I had several coworkers not only make me look bad but influenced management to have me be investigated & try to get me fired, they were A-holes, & caused me the loss of a promotion & I ended up with c-ptsd & nothing bad has happened to any of them in fact they got commendations. They WERE malicious & did it with intent. I ended up quitting because my physical health became affected as well. I have years of documentation but I was told it wasn't valid.

Yes! A coworker became absolutely unhinged about something yesterday (where I had done the right thing and been rewarded for it and they couldn't stand it), and I just kept thinking to myself, "I'm learning A LOT about you right now. Not from what others are saying ABOUT you, but from your own actions and what you are SHOWING me yourself". I choose to pity this person. It's really so sad for them.

6:00 Remaining calm and professional prevented damage to my reputation.
My job has a very flat hierarchy. So my toxic coworker's reputation was already established, documented, and known by management. So by establishing myself as someone who had potential AND did not escalate with the coworker, his complaints were ignored.
Management is aware that coworker really dislikes me and immediately assumes any criticism of me is nonsense. It's still not a great situation but the damage is very much contained

Hahahahaha yes. This happened to me yesterday, and the aftermath was everyone else in the office consoling me and then I actually felt MORE comraderie from everyone else except the toxic person. And after they went and talked to our boss behind closed doors about the whole thing, my boss came right out and re-engaged me about the work we needed to accomplish that day. And I responded with work answers. To the other person it had this air of, "Well that wasn't important, now that you're done ranting and raving about a non-thing, we've got actual work to do."

I wouldn't personally, I learned from a teacher a long time ago - that regardless of what your co workers do , you never react and jobs want you to be a team player.. even if your not .. if they ever ask you prefer teams or by your self you choose team work and it Expresses you cannot get along with your co workers . I've been through it before in a job and school .. just make sure you are doing your job and pick your battles.. I actually made them look like fools for them not letting me use a rf gun and pushing me aside to make sure it looked like I was standing around .. I looked at patterns of the product and moved the work anyways and then showed them the labels were color coded .. only once I had to tell a co worker I dont need you to do my job for me and because I stood up to him he actually was alot nicer to me .. as for interviews I usually say I'm seeking out better opportunities. Be the better person.

Love your channel! I would love to see a topic on when you’re dealing with MULTIPLE toxic coworkers. Idk if this has been covered already. But I’m dealing with a super toxic environment in the legal world where it’s one person who is the ring leader and has several followers sometimes even our boss. It’s bad. I’m exhausted from being on edge all the damn time. I just had my 6 year anniversary bc this job is the best I’ve had so far in my career and I’m really good which is why like you said my boss doesn’t pay much attention but they try to sabotage me and all this crazy stuff bc I am the shining star on the team and the Chief of staff so I have to lead. It’s very bizarre.

My boss wanted to get a promoted to Director. Instead they hired a person from outside to fill the position as his new boss. The new Director has a lot of good ideas, much of which involve changes to how my boss does things. I am getting stuck in the middle, as my boss expects me to badmouth the new guy and continue doing things the old way. Now my boss is nitpicking my work and berating me to make himself feel better. He apologizes for going off on me, then readily does it again. I'm done.

I made a mistake which to be honest, anybody could have made as two boxes were labelled exactly the same but one had an older product inside. When the customer picked it up, my coworker emailed me and made it out to be a huge problem even though the customer laughed about it. Unfortunately, my coworker copied in about ten people into the email, including my boss.

Well, I'm getting undermined by an old hag at work and I wouldn't have known about it if it weren't for others who made statements on my behalf. She's bullied others including insubordinating other supervisors and then began to target me initially bitching behind my back that I "don't deserve my job" before I achieved a promotion.
She'll hide behind constructive criticism but most see what she's doing. I think she sees me as a soft target because I believe in having somewhat of an interpersonal dimension to leadership and perhaps seem too easy going or perhaps lost.
She's the bully type that only see the task although she doesn't know I'm a veteran so I can play that game better than her because she cannot hope to team build with anybody except her nepots.

They "are out to get me" and I'm not being paranoid. My reaction was definitely not calm and professional. I just "lost it" because I've been dealing with this type of behavior for years. My boss took what my coworker said (that I said) and used it to accuse me and humiliate me in front the entire office. This is just an intolerable situation that will end one way or another with me leaving the company.

We have to deal with a different type of insecure personality with a narcissistic disorder. A passive-agressive bully, basically. She's a restaurant team leader, not mine, but as I cover breaks etc. in the restaurant, I had to suffer her crap. Her trademark is that she has to make a news announcement out of every single tiny thing she does. Probably you know this type of person: dropped out of education at 16, but whatever the topic is in a random conversation, she needs to act as a "subject matter expert" (a "know-it-all" as one of my ex-coworkers classified her simply).
In a nutshell, her minority complex feeds her need to "outperform" everybody else in the most sinister kinds of way. She needs to show off her "expertise" in front of others (customers or co-workers), trying to make us co-workers look like an imbecile in comparison. This has lead to a number of confrontations and shout-outs over the years - in those cases, her trick was to always pose as the victim in the scenario, run and cry in the office to our line manager till even she got bored (they are "friends" anyway - that is how she got into a position of some power in the first place, in case you've wondered).
Suffice it to say, by carrying on being the drama queen, she ended up with no respect at all in our work environment. Everybody's ridiculing her these days, she even became a constant joke among customers because of her loud mouth and appearance (to quote one, "The restaurant's so quiet today - is the fat one off today?").
As they say, "What goes around, comes around."
