Yes washing and water rinsing increases growth. Even if I don’t shampoo I do some type of rinse whether it’s just water or water to rinse away oil I massaged into my scalp. I locd my hair because of this. My loose natural hair was growing so fast it was discouraging dealing with all my hair. I got the idea from Dickey at Hair Rules. He said the tighter the coil the more often you should moisture. So I was cowashing daily and shampooing twice a week. The growth was ridiculous!

I’m so glad I found your channel. I just started my 2nd loc journey - this time with braid locs (not micro). I can see how reducing your stress, eating well, hydrating plenty and getting enough sleep is very beneficial to hair growth - and of course our overall well-being. I also wash my hair regularly for a clean scalp. I’ll incorporate scalp massages mainly for the stress relief and to ease the migraines/headaches I get. Sending you much love ❤️

Thank you so much. Since I’ve been pregnant I’ve been getting migraines too. They are not fun at all!!! I didn’t know massages can help. I think I may start trying that. I love braid locs!!!! I was thinking of possibly going that route, but I did not think I had enough hair doing skills to not mess it up.

I love the info you provide! I agree with you on massaging the scalp! I massage my scalp every morning! I have low density, thin, fine hair and issues with my scalp due to meds and surgery! I’m three months in my SL journey and my loctician really noticed hair growth since my last retighten....I contribute the growth to massaging and stimulating blood flow!!! I always thought my hair was the problem but I learned I have a sensitive scalp and the massages works wonders! I have no need to moisturize my locs.....I pay special attention to my scalpI’ Thank you for sharing!

ive always washed my hair once or twice a week, my mom had me on that schedule as a kid also. My hair has always been long and ive always been that person that can cut half their hair and grow it back in a year. Maybe washing more often does speed the growth. I feel its mainly because of the scalp stimulation while shampooing.

Hi Stanice! I would be wary of putting a cream moisturizer on my locs. I am sure a cream moisturizer could add moisture, but I would be concerned about build up, and would not do it on my locs.
