We had a house at the time in the elite Park South area of Brooklyn and there were TWO Biarritz's in my neighborhood. One of owners we knew. He got the car with the air suspension which broke in like a week and a half. He wanted to go back to the dealer and break all his windows!!! We found all this funny to watch adults behave like that But the dealer just installed the standard coil springs but added Koni sports car shocks and "tweeked" the alignment for they thought would add better cornering. The owner later, partially on my father's advice, he rebuilt the engine with a better cam (Howards) Serious head work, bigger carb and some custom bent headman headers. All of which yielded like 20%+ more Hp. Great memories of my dad and his friend. Crazing at night with the top down was fantastic. We and his friends had dozens of great cars, but the '59 was in the top ten greatest
What a marvelous car! The Eldorado's were great that year because the stainless side trim really accented the drop along the door & fender. The owner of this car should get the chrome "snow cones" for the fins to top off the look!
Hi Guys! There was no such thing as a 1959 Cadillac DeVille Convertible. There were two convertible models: The Series 62 and the Eldorado Biarritz. That also applied to 1960 as well. Wish I had $300K to blow on a car like this!
Wrong dimension. Length: 225”. 18.75 ft, 4” short of 19 ft, not 6” short of 20 ft. We owned the 2 door coupe. Bought new for $4500. I passed my driving test in it.
"Trimmed as Eldo Biarritz" seems a euphemism for a counterfeit "goose up" of a cheaper model. Not ethical in my book. If you want to spend 200Gs on a 59 Eldo Caddy, get the real thing!
I Believe that These CARS Choose their Owners ❤️
Beautiful ❤....great video graphics and description....Thank you

It's simply spectacular. It's a work of art. The Mona Lisa of Cars.
This car must go for a fortune now! Just stunning

Twenty years later, Cadillacs with the same size engine got half the horsepower of the '59.
And thirty years later, they were horrible in every way possible. American cars of today are still not much better.
Thats the power of the gross hp rating for you. Whereas the later ones were measured in net hp. The two cannot be compared that easily
@@horvathr95 I didn't know that. I thought it had to do with unleaded gas and all the safety features the newer engines had to have.

Too bad the narrator doesn’t know how to pronounce Biarritz. 🙄
Shameless Upbadge
Its pronounced "bear-ritz."
