- Piyush Mishra (born 13 January 1963) is an Indian film and theatre actor, music director, lyricist, singer, scriptwriter. Mishra grew up in Gwalior, and went to graduate from National School of Drama, Delhi in 1986. Thereafter, he started his career in Hindi theatre in Delhi. Over the next decade he established himself as a theatre director, actor, lyricist and singer. He shifted to Mumbai in 2002, actor, lyricist and screenwriter, and receiving acclaim for his acting in Maqbool (2003) and Gangs of Wasseypur (2012).

Though I was not the part of migration, actually born here quite later, but I heard the stories of "Hindustan" from my father who spent his childhood there before the partition. He used to tell me the stories of the people and places of Kheda, District Badayun UP and Delhi in such a way that I always felt myself there. He went back to India in 1960 just after his marriage. Once he told me that he cried a lot when he saw his childhood places.
I can understand the sorrow and the feelings of the people who left everything behind and started a new life in a new country and still their souls are at the birthplace.
Hats off to Mr. Mishra and his team. Kindly do us a favor, the music sound is very high and diminishing the singers voice.

A big hand of applause for you Sir, words are not enough to appreciate your soulful poetry. I’m from Pakistan and my grand parents were from Delhi, India. I can totally relate and can feel the poem. I grew up listening to all the stories of India and have seen the pain of not being able to go back to visit Delhi easily(due to the visa policies). I felt the same pain in Husna, which I felt during my childhood days when my grandparents missed their town and friends of India.
I live in the UK now and many of my friends are from India, we don't have any differences at all same peole, same food, same music, same dancing, same features, same regions but are not allowed to visit each other. What a Shame!!

It was Mahashivratri of 2014. College mess mein mahashivratri mein bhaang milti hoti thi Mishrambu k sath.
Hum 6-8 logo ne sbne 3-4 glas pi hogi.
11:30-12 bje se kareeb sham ko 4 bje tk sbne ek room mein band hoke zameen mein bichhe hue bistaro pe baith k sirf piyush Mishra ko suna tha. What an experience it was!!
Husna k saath College k yaar aur bhaang mila do... it's beyond this world.
After all these years I'd say one of the most memorable experiences of my life and we created it out of nothing.
Those ups and downs that state of trans that bliss...still gives me goosebumps.
The place was Vivekananda Hostel, IIT BHU Varanasi.

I am a big fan of Piyush mishra. Actor, lyricist, screenwriter, singer and god knows what else. And he is perfect in all these. His work in Gulal (Music, singing, acting) was perfect. Most momorable work is 'sarfaroshi ki tamana' from gulal.
