Damn, that was some good cinematography.. the build-up to the shoot, the beauty-shots before.. I mean, awesome content.. but the way you're editing and filming this - inspirational. This is crazy good stuff! Thanks!
Nice work there fellas !!! Love those stacked up growth rings ... gives trophies even more character. Three outstanding aspects of this edit Joe ..... you've mastered the use of foreground elements (blurred) to create more sense of depth. Makes for much more interesting viewing. Also, those very subtle camera movements ... I really dislike shaky, jittery footage. That's where the stationary tripod shots come in and are often very necessary. In between those two extremes is your use of the gentle camera moves. Awesome. Finally, I think you're using the backlit scenes more than you usually do ?? Combing the subtle camera movements to bring in the sun flares from behind subjects is fantastic. Great array of angles and perspectives too. Best edit yet I'd say. Cheers, Matt
Your onto it mate, subtle motion is key. Yes your right the backlight is featuring a fair bit in this film, it's something I love, to backlight a subject. The small adjustments are all due to running full manual exposure and manual focus. Thanks for the comment man! You study my work like no one else and pick up on things I dont think anyone consciously notices
Just caught up, just subscribed to JE Wilds and working my way through your vids.......was waiting for the..."damn, just gave away a 13 3/4...."...nice guiding, nice vid, excellent production makes it a pleasure to watch
Not want to piss in your pocket JE but you have some awesome camera skills & a great way of telling the hunting stories. I was also curious to peck over the Tops to see what’s there. It’s such beautiful Country you get into & the animals you film are another level. Keep sharing your hunts as they are really worth viewing. I could rave on more but won’t as your head may swell:-)
@@j.e.wilds-hunting that he did, keep up the good work mate and looking forward to some more awesome vid, may I say your filming the wilderness is next level, some breath taking views, thanks joe
Dame, boys. I'm not sure which I liked better the camera footage or the actual shot because both were perfect! What caliber was used to hammer that tar?
love the bit of lens flare and nice use of dof and some slow camera movement. and some nice editing in with it. i really enjoyed this being a hunter and love of camera and drone to add a little extra twist on some stuff awesome cheers :-)
That rifle is a custom .300 RUM built on a Remington 700 action off memory. I dont have the exact specs sorry as it was Matts rifle he bought along on the hunt!
I dont mean to be rude but I would hop up there on my crutches just to film these awesome animals right now. Whether they are on public or private land.. I would enjoy every moment and appreciate it. I ask kindly dont knock the hours someone has spent putting this footage together for you to enjoy, those who put in the hard yard reap the rewards.
some people like wild game meat without hormones and antibiotics. then there are some who realize man use to hunt and not surf the web to try and play the moral high-ground and criticize what others do.

What called rifle and supresor ?
Man, that looks like some rough terrain to hunt. Nice work! Good shot.
What time of season do them tahr rut? We have a small wild band here in America.
Awesome gun and shot
Thanks man he did well didn't he
Beautiful hunt and great bull 👍🏻
Awesome editing dude. Wished we had some of that style country side over the pond here in Oz. No snakes or other serious nasties, man im heading over!
Thank you for the incredible content! Hunter never leaves his gun behind though, even when stalking. My dad would have slapped me if he saw me do that.
Amazing fellas just amazing
wonderful sir
awesome edit, wich camera setup are you using? best regards
Good shot . on a bull tahr that will look good on the wall
Awesome Bull that one mate I know Matt was stoked with it!
Who was the outfitter in the video ?
Wildside Hunting Safaris in New Zealand
Thanks buddy, great video
What called supresors?
How do you guys get the meat out?
We pack it out in our backpacks, if theres a few of us it makes for lighter loads if we can spread it between us
what kind of rifle are you using
That rifle is a custom .300 RUM built on a Remington 700 action off memory. I dont have the exact specs sorry as it was Matts rifle he bought along on the hunt!
Hey where’s the country music from? Sounds awesome
david Gardiner sounds like “Ghosts of the Rail”
Luar biasa. Salam dari Indonesia
Waoooow kereeeen
Cracker Bull, and kudos to the big fulla for getting around in them hills!
He did work hard for his hunt, awesome effort from Matt
That’s something most people can’t muster when hunting- Patience,
Lost for words guys...i got caught up in the hunt i was holding my breath not to scare the animal..lol..
Haha perfect! Good to hear, you were there with us!
Private Station Country. Hardly a proper wild authentic Tahr Hunt. Why don't you do it properly like a normal kiwi hunter...
What's your problem?
