Holy crap guys that was hair raising - whoa that was excellent driving !!! Just watching the trailer and the Jeep slipping around and trying to manoeuvre over that slick mud! That was mad !! This is where your experience and skills come in to play!
I pray lots on GOOD days, but certainly would have been praying loads more once you got off the road. Crazy to watch this video and when you got out, I shouted 'Thank You Lord!'
Couldn’t sleep so I decided to wake up early and catch up on your videos. Kids played in the mud. 😂😂😂😂😂 yeah, Salt Lake City get some major winds in that area. I was getting blown away last time I went through there about four years ago. Ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
Great vid as usual, and great poise in handling that goo. That mountain mud is deceptive and you just have to respect it and not push yourself or your rig. Several years ago I got sideways in a ditch like that in Southern Colorado and my rig ended up going all the way over on it's side. Stupid me I wasn't belted and separated my shoulder falling over to the passenger side. Had to climb out the driver's door and walked about 2 miles to a hunter's cabin further down. Thank Heaven there was someone there - he was able to snacth my pickup back on to the road and even drove me to Pueblo to get my shoulder taken care of. Lesson learned about respecting that mud and endless thanks to the hunters that helped me.
That shot when you coming down the trail a bit of sun coming wow & when you going around the corner could hardly see you just trees wow is that clouds, mist or wildfire up in sky??? The look was dark & moody just the thing. Thanks for showing that. N.Z HAVE A GOOD ONE CHEERS
Airing way down would have helped a lot during this. Gotta love those sketchy mountain moments to get the blood pumping! Haha. Was great meeting you at Mountain West. Safe travels
You should make time and run the Pony Express Trail. From Salt Lake City to Wendover. You might see wild horses. Lots of historical stops along the way.
This was a nail biter to watch! Beautiful area in backcountry of Wasatch Mts. My son lives in Utah and loves the outdoors there. I will be moving to Utah next year from Colorado! Thank you for another great video. Look forward to my coffee on Sunday mornings watching your video and Dan's!🌻🌻🌻
That drone shot at 5:15 ! Come on! Amazing. If you end up in a ditch like that again, just ride the ditch as far as you can and if you need to get out, run up the far side of the ditch and cut back toward the trail. In muck like that, wheel speed is really important to clear the lugs on your tires. Just my experience. You did really well just sliding along, under control. The trailer doesn't care where it's going at that speed. LOL You guys have the best adventures! Also, trailers are the devil!
That's life... not the 9-5 grind that this world has made us do. We work 80% of our lives and enjoy less than 5%. Always chasing that carrot that we'll never get. Folks, don't forget that first off life is in Christ, and when you have that, you can truly enjoy life. You see nature different.. you see the perfection, care, power, and intelligence of a loving Father. It's truly amazing. Don't get caught up in this world chasing a dream that most will never have, but EVERYONE can have the peace of Christ and that's something the world can never take from you.
Wow, that was crazy sliding down the muddy road. I did that once in UT. The trick to the mud is to air down to 10 lbs, put both front and rear lockers on then drive slow. You need all the traction you can get. Also drive in wheel low.
Pete and Carol it was a nice treat to enjoy your weekly video a day early. We were on the edge of our seats watching you crawl down that muddy hill! In Texas we go to a place called creekside for the sole intention of getting that muddy!!! But when we do it we do it with friends to pull us out and a wash station on the way out of the park! LOL Good job getting down that hill! Very impressive to see you take it on with such patience and smart to get out when you had a chance. Safe Travels!! xo
Good afternoon my friend❤❤I thought it was Monday here for us when I saw you had a video😂😂always a pleasure to see the empty nesters enjoying yourselves. Take care and stay safe, big loves❤❤#kiwiNZfamz🇳🇿😁
I’ve missed a couple of videos . Your adventures are so beautiful . Watching your epic images reminds me it is beyond our understanding this earth that God created. 🙏
Oh my goodness, kids. You had this old lady sweating bullets when you were driving down that muddy road! I was praying, crying and biting my nails, yes, all at the same time! 😊 I know you both were worried about the condition of the road. Dear hearts, you kept your cool, stayed calm and conquered!!!! I didn't like that flat space were you camped with that storm coming, but you knew that it was okay to hunker down on that spot. I have to say, before the muddy experience, the views of the mountains were beautiful. So, my sweets, may God continue on keeping you safe and I'll be waiting for the next video. Let's stay away from muddy roads up in the mountains, please.....just kidding, I'll go with you guys anywhere. Hugs and blessings!!!
This happened to me going to fossil creek after a rainstorm earlier this year. I waited the afternoon to come home....felt lucky I didn't slide off the canyon! San Diego tomorrow!! Timmy C Arizona
Beautiful ethereal views and mountain panorama. Lovely to be along for the ride. Well…. The greasy mountain road had me a bit on edge, but your calm heads prevailed. “Listen to the locals.” So enjoy your channel. I did a 9000 mile National, state park and blm loop around America in 2021 (in my Venza all-wheel), an amazing experience. I will definitely do another trek soon.
Driven those snotty roads before myself. Had white knuckles watching you traverse out of mountains. Definitely a weather kind of trip for ya! Gorgeous scenery though! Some good driving there Sir!
Another perfect example for why, as a solo overlander, that I have no desire to pull a trailer. I have fine tuned my truck system to carry everything I need and be very comfortable doing so.
that was great driving pete. and that was some great walking carol. whoah!!!! that was a huge, gnarly, impressive looking spider. continued travel mercies and blessings. 🕊
Those tires look pretty hard. In mud I lower my tire pressure to 16, and in really slick stuff ( like you had) down to 12. It gives you almost double the tire patch!!
AN old man in Cashmere Washington told me that sandy silty stuff in the hills around there gets wet and turns into Gumbo, the stuff just rolls on in layers to the tires, some slick stuff.
Your idea of awesome and mine are very different. Nothing about that trip was worth risking your safety. I live in Vermont and look outside my window and see mountains and unbelievable beauty. I’m still shocked your trailer didn’t flip and will be surprised if you didn’t do any damage to it besides the scraping of paint from all the brush that raked against you.
Enjoyed your trip sorry you had to go through all that you guys really work well together on all the adventures you've been through. I know your wife gathers the antlers. If you go look at it video of through the lens I think your wife will enjoy what they did with their antlers most intriguing in his latest Adventure in Wyoming.
I forgot to say good to know that by putting the wheels into that rut it prevents from sliding off the road say over the other side completely! Very useful trick - it’s kinda of counter intuitive initially but life saving! Scary though!
Good afternoon Peter and Carol. I’m in Bozeman visiting my son and who do I see in the parking lot…Worsley! I was hoping to see you guys but didn’t want to disturb you. I really appreciate your channel and the inspiration you and your family are! Blessings to you guys and keep the faith! By the way, I’m from Albuquerque NM . I have watched just about every episode from New Zealand forward. I watched Dans channel where he went into detail about your beginnings…wow! Very cool!!!
Very risky trail but experience handling. Superb control. Mam you did a wonderful 👍 photography took lot of trouble to show us the best places on the trail have a wonderful 👍 time and have a great journey ❤😊.
Always drive in the middle or on the other times when needed you don’t need to worry about driving on the right side all the time. That was exciting 😂 I’ve lived in Utah 43 years from Idaho and have never been to the salt flats, just driven buy on the way to windover!
That coffee grinder looks familiar (Lifestyle Overland) 🙂 Super slick mud is the worst, patches of adobe mud in southern California is like that, it turns any tire into slicks and the only way around the problem is snow chains and I don't mean those strap things, I'm talking about real chains.
Oops, I lost track of the days and thought it was Sunday morning. Hope you don’t mind this weeks video being posted a day early. 😂
Never!
Love any time!❤️
Why would you ever have going up that road when rain was forecast ? Very poor planning .
I thought I was losing it there for a moment!
Yeah this caught me off guard but all is good.😊
Holy crap guys that was hair raising - whoa that was excellent driving !!!

I'm leaning to the left to help you stay on the road.....
❤❤ Pete has skillzzz! 🔥🔥🔥
Watching this and holding my breath. Ice couln't be any worse. Good job.
Wow!!!! Great job on that slick mountain road!!! 😮
Spectacular drone shots!
Scat, the mountain term for poop😊
In mud, always drive and walk in the tracks left before you.
Glad you are safe.
Great vid as usual, and great poise in handling that goo. That mountain mud is deceptive and you just have to respect it and not push yourself or your rig. Slicker then snot. That must mean that it's pretty slippery!!! LOL Okay, that was nerve-wracking for me!!!!! Nice job, Pete!!!
That mud was something else. Definately some white knuckles :) Glad to see ya made it. Have fun, you two! Safe travels
Yikes. That's some slick driving on some slick roads. Glad it went ok
WOW!!! Nice Driving Pete!!
That mud was like axle grease!!😮😮
hello, are you never afraid? you are always calm. Anyway, well done and thanks for making me dream
Thank you for your wonderful and hair raising video. Keep up the great work. 😎👍
Que lastima tener que dejar de ver estos videos de tan hermosa familia , ya no tienen mas subtitulos en español !!
Wow!! Doesn't that make your anxiety run wild? It would mine😢😊
This made me too nervous. Scary. Thought it would flip.
That mud was like axle grease!!. I love your amazing ventures!.
It was a lot of fun.
WELL ONCE AGAIN YOU GOT OUT THATS COOL. N.Z.
It's Very Messy.... But some times you have to chain up for mountain silt that turns into mud.. Safe travels Perry
You must have a magic camera. You can make the drive from grantsville thru the salt flats look good. When I pass through it all I see is waste land.
Wow ! Now that must have been scary. Glad you safe!😊
You had MY butt puckering on this episode! Glad you made it down...
The Lonely Overlander
Yeah, that was definitely a white knuckle drive.
Tire chains , I carry 2 pair of high quality chains 12 months of the year, relatively inexpensive and light insurance.
What a women going through that mud , outstanding video thanks
Airing way down would have helped a lot during this. Gotta love those sketchy mountain moments to get the blood pumping! Haha. Was great meeting you at Mountain West. Safe travels
You should make time and run the Pony Express Trail. From Salt Lake City to Wendover. You might see wild horses. Lots of historical stops along the way.
I am absolutely enjoying your family trips. Happy to have found you.
So cool,
Spectacular area's, like always we love the content.
Hey Pete, free car wash, the Jeep needed it after the mud pit.

It’s amazing. Thank you for share you’re experience!! Come in France, you’re welcome! Merci beaucoup from France 🇫🇷
Yikes! I've been in that kind of mud and it's definitely no fun 😬 Slow and steady as she goes.
I was so relax enjoying the breathtaking view and then bam💥 the dirt road was like a smack in the head 😅Great job guys🙌🏻👏🏻

Awesome post. Loved it. Best one in awhile. Love the scenery again
Amazing Drone footage at the beginning and heck of a ride down!
Wow, that was crazy sliding down the muddy road. I did that once in UT. The trick to the mud is to air down to 10 lbs, put both front and rear lockers on then drive slow. You need all the traction you can get. Also drive in wheel low.
That was a fun one !! Thanks!!
Was So Happy to see you finally get back to the pavement 💛
Good times for sure! 😊
Whew! What a nail biter! Great episode!
Nice trip. That mud reminds me of working in parts of Alberta in the 80's. Some slick.
Pete and Carol it was a nice treat to enjoy your weekly video a day early. We were on the edge of our seats watching you crawl down that muddy hill! What area of Texas is creekside located in? We're up by DFW, but would love to get the Jeep a little dirty 🙂
Good afternoon my friend❤❤I thought it was Monday here for us when I saw you had a video😂😂always a pleasure to see the empty nesters enjoying yourselves. Take care and stay safe, big loves❤❤#kiwiNZfamz🇳🇿😁
I've had some slick times camping at Mudd Creek just W of Strawberry Res. Glad you slid out safely!
Intense!
I’ve missed a couple of videos . Your adventures are so beautiful . Watching your epic images reminds me it is beyond our understanding this earth that God created. 🙏
I wa watching this and literally held my breath ! Well done

i nearly fell asleep. This video is like a dream . I am floating up in the clouds. i would through some rocks in the ditch to get out.
This happened to me going to fossil creek after a rainstorm earlier this year. I waited the afternoon to come home....felt lucky I didn't slide off the canyon! San Diego tomorrow!! Timmy C Arizona

Very well driven there! Nice and safe all the way down! Looking forward to the next episode. Kind regards Erik
Awesome video as always Epic Family Road Trip. That was a sketchy road but y'all handled it like a champ.
Driven those snotty roads before myself. Had white knuckles watching you traverse out of mountains. Definitely a weather kind of trip for ya! Gorgeous scenery though! Some good driving there Sir!
This one scared me. This takes experience to handle.
Jeep should sponsor you as you show the capability of the product
I think I had white knuckles with you on that stretch of road. Nice surprise to see your video a day early. Cheers-
Another perfect example for why, as a solo overlander, that I have no desire to pull a trailer. I have fine tuned my truck system to carry everything I need and be very comfortable doing so.

Thanks for the tip. Yes, we were at 18psi but should have been lower 👍🏻
AN old man in Cashmere Washington told me that sandy silty stuff in the hills around there gets wet and turns into Gumbo, the stuff just rolls on in layers to the tires, some slick stuff.
Wow... Thank you for sharing and showing that patience is an offroad skill as well!

Wow, this one was packed with adventure and suspense. So glad you made it to the Flats. Take care and thanks for this video.
Awesome and memorable adventure.
I live in Utah, Brigham City, Northern Utah and we love it, so much variety.
😬😬😬 glad u made it out!
Gosh! So glad you guys are okay.
Enjoyed your trip sorry you had to go through all that you guys really work well together on all the adventures you've been through. I know your wife gathers the antlers. Definitely will check it out. Thanks.
Some beautiful country, minus the mud of course. 👍
Nice .... i like this trailer 👍
Great Video ! Nice job of driving ! Be safe! Chas.,SC
I forgot to say good to know that by putting the wheels into that rut it prevents from sliding off the road say over the other side completely! Very useful trick - it’s kinda of counter intuitive initially but life saving! Scary though!
Another Epic adventure didn’t know you and Carol were planning a video on mud bogging it was awesome
Great photography Carol. Sorry about the shoes!!!
I knew I should have brought old boots just in case 😅
Wow, great episode. Huge pucker factor on what will hopefully be remembered around the fire as some serious Class II fun.

That’s awesome. Thanks for being a part of our channel. If you see us again, we’d be happy to say hi. Have a wonderful day.
I think we were in Utah at the same time, that weather was rough for us RTT’s!
Very risky trail but experience handling. Superb control. Mam you did a wonderful 👍 photography took lot of trouble to show us the best places on the trail have a wonderful 👍 time and have a great journey ❤😊.
Have to get some wheel spin to keep the tires cleaned out
Wow, that was an Adventure with a capital A!!!
Always drive in the middle or on the other times when needed you don’t need to worry about driving on the right side all the time. That was exciting 😂 I’ve lived in Utah 43 years from Idaho and have never been to the salt flats, just driven buy on the way to windover!
Wow you guys. Had us on the edge of our seats. 😬 You always find a way to conquer and then rains 🌧️ to wash your rig off. Another amazing episode. 🥰
always such great videos and inspiration. THANK YOU!
Bu hafta hem endişeli hemde heyecan vericiydi bol şanslar ✌️👍🤥👸🤳🌎👣🤗👀🇹🇷
Whoa! My stomach was on edge that whole ride! I knew you had it though. I'm less tense and more relaxed now.
Awesome video. I was actually on the edge of my seat watching this. All that mud. Yuck. Glad your safe off that messy mountain. Travel safe folks.
Great job of driving!!!
G’Morning to see both it’s 5:22 am and watching u guys great morning to start my day! Be safe and have a wonderful time 💕☺️☕️👍🏼
Where was this? Beautiful! Glad you got out safe!
Wow guys, you did an epic job on this video...and getting out of all that super slippery muddy trail. So glad you made it out ok.
Thank you
