    As a seamstress I can suggest, to sew a zipper to a facing and the waistband, and after that, You sew Your lining to the zipper - You'll hide that raw edge and make Your skirt look cleaner.
    But the skirt is cute and it looks so good on You :)

    Oh My Gosh! I love that skirt. So flirty. Well done. I hope you get your serger fixed or replaced soon. Also, you are inspiring because you did not let that’s stop you from creating a beautiful garment. I’m surprised, because of your patterns and sewing expertise, that one of the machine manufacturers have not approached you to offer you a serger for promotional consideration. Unless you don’t do that. If you do I would look into it. Your awesome.

    Thank you for the zig-zag tip. I have a VERY old sewing machine at home and it is still functional but doesn't have an overlock option.
    So the last time I made a circle skirt (which was a year ago) I ended up overlocking everything BY HAND!

    • @KimDave
      @KimDave  5 років тому

      Wow by hand 😳 that’s incredible. When my overlocker wasn’t functioning, I used the zig zig stitch to reinforce my seams and it worked well

    Hello Miss Kim I'm new to your channel and I've subscribed and pressed the bell. QUESTION I'm a beginner and I really learned a lot yesterday about measurements on the circular skirt. Can you please make a video on the math part on how to figure out the numbers to draft clothing. What measurement system is used in Europe because I keep seeing videos where both centimeters and inches are used which is more common and what is the professional way to measure. Here in the States it's inches, but in Mexico is centimeters, and in Spain is centimeters. I'm looking forward to learning from you. Thank you so much looking forward to your videos. God bless

    i don't know if you will see this, but I just want to let you know, I only recently came across your page last night, because I really want to learn how to take measurements and make patterns. What I would normally do is use clothing that fit my daughters and I well and trace those for patterns, but most times I want to make things other than shorts lol. Anyway I just want to say thank you and I hope to learn a lot from your videos.

      Thanks dear.
      I left the centre back open for the zip. I did pleat the centre front inwards to conceal the stitch that joined the two halves.

    If I would like to make this but with a different fabric inside the pleats, could I cut the pattern into “wedges” and add a seam allowance and sew it back together?
