The name "bazooka" comes from an extension of the word "bazoo", which is slang for "mouth" or "boastful talk", and which ultimately probably stems from Dutch bazuin (trumpet).
Officially titled the M9A1 Rocket Launcher, it was called bazooka after a crude horn of that name used by radio comedian Bob Burns.
All models shown here are the M1 rocket launcher, aside from 2.
The M1 was the first antitank launcher. The M9 is the 9th model of antitank launcher that has an optical sight and can be disassembled for use by paratroopers.

@@onur97able The only difference between the M9 and the M9A1 was added reinforcement to the tube.
The A1 suffix only means a minor upgrade or improvement to the main model. It does not mean a new design or redesign of a weapon.

Yeah, we don't see soldiers connecting the wires much in games. Also, I think the firing is right too. There's supposed to be no recoil coming out from the gun.

Imagine playing an action FPS then you fired your bazooka and tried to reload it only to realize your squadmate is nowhere near you so you just had a staredown with the enemy Panzer as you accept your fate.

It actually depends on the model of the Bazooka. The M1, like in CoD WW2 is actually correct, albeit the weapon is outdated for the period of the war it is set in. Only later models of Bazooka required the user to connect the wires. This was a safety measure put in place after accidents would occur in high heat.

I think Red Orchestra go it too. There is a faint click after inserting the rocket. Maybe detailing that the player connected the wires off screen.

@@Fish-kz8xw Rocket launchers Are recoilles because they launch a rocket, so it has no recoil its simple physics. A recoilles rifle is a completly different thing, i recommend watching the channel "Forgotten weapons" so you can learn it there because im to lazy to explain.

But it’s still a fun game, and that’s all that matters.
That's actually entirely historically accurate. The rocket travels at 100 yards per second but burns it's fuse out after traveling less than 54 inches. With it going so quickly and the rocket burning in such short time it definitely would sound somewhat similar when leaving the Bazooka.

Most of these shouldn't have even fired lmao, they never connected the wire that lets you fire the rocket in the first place. They just dunk it in.
Day of Infamy got it right tho.

BFV's sounds good, but its animation is way too generic.

The one from CoD WW2 will actually fire. The early Bazookas, the ones with a front grip, didn't have that coil wire at the back of the rocket to attach to the spring contact. Instead the rockets on the early ones had a contact band at its the body. So they just slide the rocket into the tube. However, not all the way in like in the animation.

Pretty much all of them have recoil when, as you can see from training footage, there is absolutely no recoil. They suspended one from springs and fired it and it just stayed hanging in the exact same spot.

2:33 is actually a stock sound. I've only heard it in games like Masked Shooters 1 and 2 and a couple mobile games. (All the games I listed are made by the same company).

I'm guessing most games don't go for the real M1 bazooka reload because the whole process would be time consuming for a fast paced shooter.

I wonder if half of these games have actual range drop, otherwise it makes the detail of the range sights useless.
Battlefield V is one example in this comparison that has range drop, and it also allows for the Bazooka sights to adjust when zeroed, and affects accuracy.

funfact: CTB2's Sounds i realize are Taken from a few AAA Games, Cod WAW, Black ops and Day of Infamy, i've played the mod enough to remember the sounds. so far i find the rocket launcher sounds to be from Day of Infamy shotgun and a few pistol sounds from blacktops and maybe a few sounds from world at war. again i recommend playing the mod. in tandem with a modpack it's probably one of my best experiences playing Minecraft with any sense of realism (though the weapons and ammo take more iron than by mass it takes to make them. can't alter the recipies either. it's not in Minecraft's crafting table but it's own like Flan's mod, except the game never crashes when clicking on a gun without a 3d model, not that there are any 2d pixel guns in there of course. Flan's is way buggier)
yes this includes mills bombs, and Japanese grenades (not many games have those unless is war specific), this along with Galacticraft, HBM's nuclear tech and Thaumcraft is probably the best Minecraft mod i've ever laid eyes upon, you won't regret seeing it and probably the best looking without any shaders. blood can be put on guns from CQC and Mud too, Both can Jam the Weapons, you can prone, crouch or shoot standing up (it's gotten me out of tough spots where i lost my pickaxe and the only way out was a 1 block opening i forgot to open up)
donating to the Dev team can increase the Weapon roster, but already the Base Game with mod without donation is probably the best WW2 Gun mod Available, especially for 1.7.10 the most modded version of Minecraft. Beats, Flan's, Techguns, even the Hassan and KC Halo craft mods, both worked diligently to have 3d weapons. probably one of the most respectful mods because it puts you in the body of a soldier in the multiplayer. realism mode will slow you down if you carry more than 2 guns, getting shot anywhere will kill you unless you get medical attention and statchel charges, and rocket launchers when Block destruction is turned on will take out those annoying battle towers and undergrounds cities. as a youtuber who played with the mod on video for some time, it's probably the one mod i played the most on single player.
with Sandbags easily made, fortifacations will be ever more easier to make. lockable Bunker doors will keep the grimy zombie hands away from you. and grenades will roll far from intended target. can also be used as lures and even bounce off enemies

Out of all of these reloads, 2 got it mostly correct (Red orchestra 2, COD: United Offensive) and 1 got it fully correct (Day of Infamy).
Quite unfortunate how there is no Hell Let Loose. They have pretty good depiction od bazooka.

They're not supposed to, bazookas operate on the principle of having all gases exit the barrel in the back instead of the front end
