Ice is in fact pretty insulating and resistant against open flames, thats why you can make fire in an igloo without it melting, so the fact that is fire wasn't doing much against hakus mirrors is damn accurate
I always felt like Kishimoto could’ve put Lightning style in check if he simply switched its position in the 5 chakra nature cycle with Earth style, not to mention to me it’d make more sense. Think about it: 1. In real life the earth grounds Lightning as it’s not a conductor though water is a conductor of lightning. So it makes sense if lightning were weak against earth & strong against water. 2. Earth being weak against cutting winds makes sense to me more than lightning being weak to wind.
The problem is that Kishimoto gave it a lightning-style property in order to increase piercing power. I suppose that's why he saw that the earth style loses against lightning, he sees it as something that should pierce and destroy, but not electrocute as its main function. That is why this element is the one with the most diversity, it can be used to cut, it even surpasses the wind element according to Kisame, it increases reaction and movement speed, defense and physical strength. On the other hand, for example, the fire element can only be used through the mouth, but without the mouth there is no other way to use fire. Maybe Amaterasu has that change, but in the end Kishimoto trampled Amaterasu.
I was confused about Lightning beating Earth from the first time I saw it. However parhaps due to electrical education 😅 later I thought maybe it is not as dumb as you would think. In real life earth grounds lightning - it does because the ground is treated like conductor. In real life water can be conductor but distilled water is an insulator (but of course the Water style in Naruto does not seem to have insulating properties...). While the air is the most common insulator irl, in Naruto it does make sense it is strong against lightning. And there is also the fire. It is known, the high temperature of air actually increases his conductivity, so it would kind of make Fire weak to Lightning. But there is another side of the coin! And it also concern "piercing power" as @netero1682 mentioned. Unlike you said the ground is kind of conductor and because of this, it attracts the current. What I mean by that is conductors attract electric arcs. I think that specifically electric arcs piercing through EARTH style is a big BS. In fact isolators would be more damaged by lightning strike than conductors because conductors will dissipate the energy and isolators will not. One thing is Deidara creations made of clay (which btw his style is mix of Earth and Lightning), but the other thing is earth wall protecting/separating a character. But in the end in the story Lightning style really has no weaknesses. Probably it has something to do with Kishimoto being the biggest Saske fan. To be honest I think the entrire circular diagram could be turned up side down. Even Water < Fire is not so obvious because it ends up in steam...
Wind is also a natural insulator at room temperature hence why lightning is weak to wind. And earth is strong against water because its sturdy enough to stop the momentum of water
Funny how lightning style is supposed to be "weak" against wind style but indra's arrow was able to offset naruto's rasenshurikens anyway so maybe lightning is just that powerful
Have we ever even seen anyone use a wind style jutsu to overpower or counter a lightning style jutsu? The closest I can remember was Kakashi blocking lightning with his own lightning, lol. It sure seems like lightning is only weak to earth in theory, but never in practice.
The only other time I remember they used this concept was against the reanimated third raikage where only wind style jutsu proved to be somewhat "effective" against him, but then again Temari was only able to push him back a bit and Naruto's rasenshuriken only knocked him out for a few secs lol
@@keej7146Kishimoto is someone who leans a lot towards those who are his favorites, it is obvious that the lightning style is his favorite element and the one that benefits the most above the other elements.
Everybody usually got a issue with fire style because most people evade it but in reality if you pay attention its only use a smoke screen or an attack to create time for another jutsu. For example Madara used his Fire Style to create a Ocean of fire, when the Hidden Mist Ninjas countered it he sent another wave of fire balls (another jutsu) that was hidden behind the smoke screen
Sasuke didn’t use fire style against team kakashi in the beginning of the Shippuden, he used his “raw strength”. And to be fair, if you had an upgraded and overall superior technique, that being amaterasu and flame control, it makes sense why Sasuke didn’t use much of fire style after that. Especially if you consider the caliber of that timeframe opponents and Jutsus
Amaterasu was supposed to slowly take away Sasuke’s eyesight everytime he used it, like most other Sharingan-related abilities, but I guess Kishimoto forgot that too
It’s funny tho that the strongest version of fire (I mean Amaterasu) also happens to be countered nearly every single time and is the weakest MS ability. Kishimoto really did dirty to fire.
@@Rilteaevery ms ability will make you go blind. Both sasuke and itachi became blind/were about to become blind until sasuke got the ems and itachi died. If you’re gonna complain about ms inconsistencies then complain about obito because he used his ms for like 2 decades and never went blind

Fire is slow, therefore a ninja has time to deflect/avoid/substitute/ etc. Against non ninjas and as weapons of mass destruction or terror they would be VERY useful and impressive. A fire style specialist would use a fire barrier against taijutsu and mix it with wind style to accelerate/amplify the attack. Would be interesting to see a fire rocket attack or fire tornado! EDIT: one way to balance them is to make fire attacks spend less chakra and lightning attacks spend more chakra.
true, fire style attacks can be slower compared to other elemental jutsu, but they can still be useful in various situations. Combining fire style with wind style could create powerful and unique techniques like a fire rocket attack or fire tornado. Balancing chakra consumption between fire and lightning style attacks could be an interesting way to create more strategic choices for ninja.
Fire style probably can be fast. It just depends on the user and the fire style. Like Sasuke's Fire style against Kakashi in part 1 during the bell test was almost instantaneous. Generally it seems slower though.

Me reading in manga or hearing someone in anime say *SUITON* makes me happy every time. Love the different ways it is represented and its been personal favorite since the start, and normally, one of the reasons Kisame is my favorite character.
Fire is similar to kunai knives in that the reason it fails isn't because it's useless, it's because it's too powerful. Jutsu or not, most of the characters in Naruto are still only human. Stab them, and they're gonna bleed and die if they can't heal themselves or get to a medic. Light them on fire, and they're gonna die.
true, fire jutsu can be incredibly powerful and deadly, especially against human characters who lack healing abilities. It's a force to be reckoned with.
Well that is the core problem that fire style lacks the ability to make your opponent more flammable and for some reason fire users don't carrying summoning scrolls filled with "smoke" grenades that spread accelerant or explosive gases.
The problem with the fireball technique and its variants is that they're too flashy and block the users' vision, and it's (relatively) slow moving (especially late series). It's pretty much a crowd control ability that is spammed as a main attack. You either need to make it soo big it's impossible to miss, and powerful enough to destroy enemy defenses or do something completely different like an ability to create pillars of flame at a location you can see, or shoot thin filaments of flame from your fingers that you can use like a whip. But no, we see absolutely no creativity when it comes to fire style techniques. It's like the moment the Uchiha clan created the fireball technique, everyones brain fell out and collectively said "-*_This is perfection! We will need literally nothing else ever again! No one is allowed to be creative with fire unless it's to iterate on this!_*-" and we only get to see people actually be effective with fire style in filler, and even then it's only kekkei genkai so it's arguable not even then. What's everyone's fascination with flames spewing out their face to begin with? Why must it come out of their mouth? To simulate a bellows gusting air into a fire? You can also do that with a fan, and we know the Uchiha clan knows that because the fan to fuel the flame is literally their clan symbol! So why not sweep your hand through the air as if fanning the flames to start burning shit? If you're going to keep breathing flames, at the very least, get creative with it! Like spit out a cone of literal fire needles, sure, it's not likely any needle that hits would do much, but hey, they are small, so no one would expect much, and it would look badass.
You forgot to mention the time during the fight between Naruto and Sasuke where Sasuke used his dragon flame jutsu which hit Naruto directly and left him motionless on the floor. Sasuke was then able to go for the killing blow on him with the piledrive.
You know, they may have balanced lightning a bit more if they had a specific water jutsu that makes it resistant with a little more chakra. And you can still make Suigetsu weak to lightning because the water he turns into doesn't automatically have this property running. Also, considering they have healing in this show, they really could have had people getting injured with fire more.
The Headhunter and Dig Like a Mole jutsus as a concept for espionage, evasion, and ambush is actually pretty broken. The Jirobo earth dome that had the Sasuke retrieval team shit outta luck. The earth walls that block pretty potent justu. The Earth Grudge justu from Kakuzu that made him crazy durable. The Tsuchikage using the lightening/make you heavy justu. Earth bullet users that were going to kill the sannin. Earth wedges that were pinning the Gedo Mazo. Earth golems and other constructs, along with massive upheavals like Jirobo v. Choji, or Hiruzen vs Orochimaru. Earth release has crazy feats, it’s just that it isn’t used very much. Easily the most versatile release, it can remove anyone from a fight. Be used for stealth, demolition, espionage, construction, traversal, and defense. Best one by far. Water is 2nd.
earth release is indeed a versatile and powerful element with a wide range of applications, from espionage and stealth to defense and construction. It has shown impressive feats and capabilities throughout the series. Water release is also highly regarded for its versatility.@@clonedrone3084
I remember when making an OC with a fire style affinity, the main way he went about using it was to burn the oil on his skin to light himself ablaze. He’d then use this to augment his taijutsu. Other uses were creating fire walls or fire clones. The other elements he’d used were lighting and water.
It's very interesting to see how fire is used in jutsu release manner. Like the characters are supposedly (technically) normal human. They just play creatively with their jutsus so they can be effective. I'm currently exploring the idea of firebending, so the thought of the jutsu version mechanic is interesting
Hey, I got a good suggestion for a video for you. Why now talk about why the Hyuga don’t just mix nature transformations into their Juken? I thought about that idea ages ago and wondered why it never happened. My thought is that it’s another tradition in the clan to not over rely on it or you’ll focus more on that than perfected your Juken correctly or something of that nature. Personally, that’s one of the biggest Naruto questions I would ask Kishimoto because someone like Hinata who has fire and lightning release as her affinities (ironically the same as Sasuke’s) and just transfer lightning or fire into an enemies Juken! Now, I know she wouldn’t use the most destructive natures on a person, but on creatures like the Zetsus?! I would actually pay to see that!
I'd like to see a Hyuga none tails jinchuriki. Image rotation and gentle fist techniques with the power of KCM. Poke an enemy they explode. Rotation would gain a huge advantage depending on the attack say fire ball water style rotation. Wind style rotation would slice people up and block lightning style attacks. Wasted potential.
Fire style could have had some interesting uses by applying the heat of it instead. Imagine a firestyle jutsu that super heats all the metal in an area. No more metal ninja tools and equipment unless you choose to be burned. Can fatigue and slow down enemies as well as create an indirect way of removing water from play over time. Could be used for genjutsu via mirages or another form of stealth jursu to hide your appearance. Sasuke used his Fire style jutsu against Itachi to help set up Kiran after all by heating the air. Same idea in support form and more interesting than another fireball.
I don't think Lighting is actually strong against Water style jutsu: We never see lighting style used to cancel out or overpower water jutsu, just to electrify it and presumbly amping it like how Wind boosts Fire jutsu. It's just that Suigetsu is MADE of water so he's personally damaged extra by it.
yeah, you're right. Lightning style jutsu in Naruto doesn't necessarily have an advantage against water style jutsu, it's more about electrifying and amplifying it. Suigetsu being made of water does make him more susceptible to lightning attacks.
Lightning style is the only one that has multiple extra skill trees that will boost things like the fence and speed/stats If you were making a character in the game, he would definitely pick the lightning simply because of the lightning cloak or the speed boost techniques. Along with the debuff or stun moves plus is probably the fastest
The thing with lightning vs earth in Naruto physics is that the lightning chakra disrupts the chakra holding the earth particles together thus making earth weak to lightning.
imagine a kisame and itachi filler where they hang out and kisame makes a hole fill up with water and itachi heats it up with fire style. Then kisame trolls him by putting sharks in the hot tub lol.
or when Itachi does a dozen of fried eggs for Sasuke because he wants the perfect fried egg for his dear little brother LUL (there's an ova i think already)
I would have liked it if there was a fire release that hits an enemy and then the chakra goes into the enemy's chakra network. Then after that the fire release chakra would burn all there chakra until there's nothing left.
I agree that earth style is above fire style, but for a different reason than you pointed out. Earth style is versatile! Fire style is almost only used for offense. Earth style can be used for defense, offense, and even changing the environment. Fire style can change the environment through destruction, but that is limited. Earth style can create long lasting platforms, walls, and obstacles. The only non conventional use I can think of for fire style is to hide weapons and set up Sasuke s lightning jutsu. Besides that it is usually straightforward and one dimensional.
Lightning was my favorite in terms of useage post hebi sasuke. He just made it so op. Fire in a senin series would actually damage or end people like when we saw orochimaru skin peel off so it was definitely nerfed. Wind had more potential but we hardly saw it used on naruto as he could have done more if he asked hinata or someone. 2:43 You'll be surprised. Fire isn't very effective against ice it actually takes a while for it to melt, not instantaneous as one would expect. Saw an experiment where someone tested a flamethrower against a block of ice, and it nearly took him 25 minutes to melt part of it. P.S it was blue flames.
I think my most favourite use of fire style was in the first Naruto Shippuden movie. With moves like fire run and the circle fire ring thing. It seemed the most poweful in this movie
That water style watergun is probs my fav water style jutsu. Mizukage literally made finger-guns into a real attack 😂 gengetsu was such an op/underrated character. Can’t imagine any non-uchiha beating him when he’s serious.
Lightning use to be well balanced to the others in part one. Yes it was op but it had many draw back first the chakra consuption was intense Then the time taken to do it. Peoples spaming in part 2 kinda ruined the balance It shouldn't be the go to.
There aren't any rank-A and S jutsu besides wind and lightning natures so that reflects some of the points mentioned. The best we see for all other natures is B with a couple unranked maybe being rank-A
The closest thing to a fire style specialist is the 5 tails jinchuriki who covered his body with hot lava. Fire style is only good when its part of a kekkei genkai. Scorch style is also powerful and it uses fire style.
I feel that Kishimoto's pulse trembled in making people very burned, or he had no appreciation for the fire style, you just have to see what Amaterasu became. In addition, it is the most limited element, it can only be used by mouth.
Ye that’s the problem, fire need to be combined with other elements to get lava Release and Scorch Release. Meanwhile lightning and wind fucks everyone up on their own.
I'm pretty sure multiple nature element were shown with the whole inferior/superior and combination aspect. Yamato and Naruto combining water and wind style, Naruto and Sasuke combining fire/inferno and wind style, Kakashi and Sasuke taking advantage over earth style with their lightning style, Naruto fighting Raikage with his wind style. That's all I can remember... Other characters have also shown some of these as well, like Kakazu and Temari...
I wouldn't say that lightning style is a clear winner over wind style. They are definitely closer than you state. You forget that lightning style is weaker against wind style. Therefore, it seems logical to me that the strongest is the wind style, because only the weakest fire style has an advantage against it. Indra's arrow isn't the strongest, it's just Sasuke's strongest. You can see beautifully there that wind style rasen shuriken canceled it.
⚡️style is 100% the best. It augments attack, defence and speed alongside having an advantage over TWO of the 5 chakra natures in Earth and Water styles. Finally you can apply it to your kinjutsu the easiest too so all round its the peak style of the 5.
Also the supposed counter, Wind style, just happens to be the most rare elemental style and also wasn’t used a single time in the whole anime to counter Lightning
26:34 from te chart i think the lightning + fire would be something like "Plasma release" (could be cool)... and wind + lightning... maybe a "laser realease".
dude what you don't get is that the rasengun charge up was the thing that saved naruto from the flames (4:40), as in if he hadn't learned the rasengun he would have been tourched, the residual chakra that was outside the rasen gun during its formation was spinning so fast it formed a somewhat of a temp protective field around him, and also i thing ur wrong fire and lightning are the most op natures inthe naruto verse
11:00 u could argue kid obito 3rd shinobi world war was a fire style specialist. Considering he spammed fire ball jutsu and minato even quoted him to be good at it but bad at everything else that was his whole personality back then
No one: "Fire style is my favorite. It's the coolest and is OP!!!" Kishimoto: "Only plebs like fire style. Join the Cloud village cuz y'all know lightning is bomb af"
I can see why you have those views and a lot make sense. Water style users are not weak against lighting style users. Suigetsu is weak against it, not every water style user. It's the person welding the elements, thats my take on it
Kishimoto should have swapped lightning and earth in the element cycle, wind erodes rocks so air should be good against earth, earth cancels electricity so it should be good against lightning, and electricity passes wonderfully through water, so lightning should be good against water, as it already is
Air is literally one of the best electrical insulators in nature and air eroding stone does not make it stronger than stone, in this case it is just a matter of persistence any other element can also erode a stone if it is exposed enough to that element
Fire style's rarely even going to be as dangerous as actual fire. True burning can only be used against a foe who isn't important or handsome enough to leave intact for a dying monologue.
Probably one of the only mangas who gets fire right it's JJK for example every time Jogo hit someone with a fire technique they completely gets scar for life or burn into a crisp
Fire doesn't burn in most anime. it's boring, I hate fire power. Main character in fairy tail only punches people. that's his power. don't tell me he has fire power when it doesn't impact any of his fights. the only thing that burned people in Naruto was the barrier during the 3rd hokage fight with orochimaru
The problem with fire is it having no physical form, as in you cannot touch it, so the impact it has relied on an invisible factor of heat. As a result, it is easier for the writer to justify the target shrugging off fire attacks than other types. On the other hand, as audiences you kinda expect wind, water, or earth to at least has some physical effects when they landed. The only other non-physical element is lightning, but it is often associated with some degree of paralysis effects too instead of just raw, invisible damage, so some audiences might expect it to do something anyway.
The Fire and Lightning placements are pretty inarguable. Fire seems to be only good for burning things and distractions, but, to be honest, it isn't really that good at burning things as you've already noted. Lightning breaks the element wheel, but even if it didn't, it has Lightning Armor which is unquestionably the strongest basic elemental technique, being one of the strongest attacks and definitely the strongest defense and utility. The other three are pretty comparable. I think you rated Wind a little high. Excepting Temari blowing away kunai, it doesn't have much defensive utility. One could maybe argue that flight counts, but we only really see Temari fly with it and not very well which I think is a shame. Not having proper flight through Wind is a big missed opportunity. It is supposed to be really offensive, but we don't see it beat the armor of the element it is supposed to be good against. Earth style has good defense, offense, and utility. The mass manipulation is crazy useful. Traveling underground is useful. One could argue that a lot of its defenses got shot right through, but Kakuzu's wasn't, and a lot of the others happened after all elemental usages except lightning completely broke down in the face of War Arc power scaling. Water also has good utility, offense, and defense. The Mist technique is really handy and was probably underutilized late in the series. The Water Prison is a great capture technique. Water Wall techniques were used to defend against a variety, and the Water Jets used by the Frog Sages and the Second Hokage have really good pinpoint damage to pair with the wide area damage of some of the others.
If the chakra absorption that Kisame's jutsu do is actually Water style and not something unique to Kisame and his sword, than I think you have to give second place to Water.
There is some Info that kurama is tied to the fire element. He breaths flame during the pain fight. That may be why fire doesn’t hurt him w Kyuubi cloak
Funnily enough with the fire vs ice thing: the fire would have to burn AND stay hot for a long time to effect ice. Ice is very good at resisting fire in short bursts. Meanwhile acid eats right through it
Biggest impact fire ever had in Naruto is paper bombs burning Nagato's legs leaving him crippled. So not even a firestyle technique but a trap/weapon lmao
A lil off topic I like all the natures equally but I only really fuck with 2 jutsu from each 1. Lightning Style: Black Panther & Purple Lightning Fire Style: Bomb Blast Dance & Majestic Destroyer Flame Water Style: Water Dragon & Water Mirror Earth Style: Dark Swamp & Mud Wall Wind Style: Vacuum Sphere & Great Breach
Fire style has a lot of potential to be very strong. It just seems to never hit. and it's not like it's actually slow. It's just that characters seem to dodge just barely because they're expecting it. Honestly, the issue is that most top tiers don't have fire affinity by chance. It's a real shame. Cuz a fire stlye can come out just as fast as a wind or lightning style if used by an equal strength guy with the appropriate affinity. I always liked Fire style, I wish they let it do something for once. I almost wonder if it has something to do with censorship. Madara devastated an army with just 2 fire Jutsu. the first would have wrecked most of them but was stopped by an entire platoon of water jutsu users. but as it was expected be stopped, Madara used the resulting mist as cover for a great fireball spam. likely killing hundreds or even thousands. Yet another reason why Kishi didn't give other wind-style jutsus to Naruto. He would've destroyed the emo avenger
wind jutsu can be pretty cool, like Danzo's wind blade or Asuma's chakra knives.
asuma and temari showcased the practical uses of wind-style jutsu, with asuma's extended range trick and temari's ability to chop down forests. enhancing sharp objects and giving them properties to overcome other elements is indeed a useful aspect of wind-style jutsu. it's possible that kishi favored sasuke in the plot, and naruto's lack of other wind-style jutsus may have been intentional to maintain balance.@@zahleer
Ice is in fact pretty insulating and resistant against open flames, thats why you can make fire in an igloo without it melting, so the fact that is fire wasn't doing much against hakus mirrors is damn accurate
bro talked about fire style so much that i forgot this video was about all natures lol
Half of the video is abt firestyle 😂
My thoughts exactly. Powerful lightning bolts can appear with or with out high wind speed
It would make more sense that sasukes attack was just much stronger and the only reason it tied is becouse of the elemental disadvantage
@@AlteredNova04yes. Third raikage fight
You can get the same usage from water style as well tho
Lighting maybe should work as well because it blinds people.
@@Sundilio Most Water Style Jutsu need water to use, unless the user is an expert like Tobirama. Fire Style can be used anywhere.

EDIT: one way to balance them is to make fire attacks spend less chakra and lightning attacks spend more chakra.
actually that true already
true, fire style attacks can be slower compared to other elemental jutsu, but they can still be useful in various situations.

Water Release: Some Random Water Jutsu
suiton is indeed a delightful element in manga and anime, and Kisame's affinity for it adds to his appeal.
In a world where people can make nukes with their own hands, everyone wants that morning wood style.
Fire is similar to kunai knives in that the reason it fails isn't because it's useless, it's because it's too powerful. Jutsu or not, most of the characters in Naruto are still only human. Stab them, and they're gonna bleed and die if they can't heal themselves or get to a medic. Light them on fire, and they're gonna die.
only though some of them don't...
true, fire jutsu can be incredibly powerful and deadly, especially against human characters who lack healing abilities.

13:00 you forgot the mighty Earth Style: Headhunter Jutsu used by kakashi during the bell test 😮 how could you overlook such a devastating technique??

@@tiosevenstarsThat’s pretty much how I thought of using fire style. A combination of fire style and ace’s techniques from one piece.
We've seen this in Boruto actually in the chunin exams were he electrified a bunch of ppl in water using Lightning style.
yeah, you're right. Lightning style jutsu in Naruto doesn't necessarily have an advantage against water style jutsu, it's more about electrifying and amplifying it. Suigetsu being made of water does make him more susceptible to lightning attacks.
It’s advantage is speed. You don’t need to clash when you can just outpace most water techniques.
true, speed can be a major advantage when dealing with water techniques.@@cloudcoastgaming
shouldn't lightning style be hot enough to instantly vaporize water style?
For me from weaker to stronger is fire , water , earth , wind , lightning
I think this is the best way to rank them
Lightning style is the only one that has multiple extra skill trees that will boost things like the fence and speed/stats If you were making a character in the game, he would definitely pick the lightning simply because of the lightning cloak or the speed boost techniques. Along with the debuff or stun moves plus is probably the fastest
Fire style was supposed to be the most powerful, but it was always used to show how powerful the opponent is by having them shrug it off.
They never said something like that in the Magma or Anime, the closer thing said to that is Wind being the rarest Nature release in the leaf.
Raiton will always be my favorite, in any instance
Kirin and Black Panther are so awesome.
I think that the only person who was ever hurt by fire in the entire series, was like Sasuke in the first Boruto movie vs fused Momoshiki! 😂😂
Water style definitely my favorite, wish we got to see more of it

The closest thing to a fire style specialist is the 5 tails jinchuriki who covered his body with hot lava. Fire style is only good when its part of a kekkei genkai. Scorch style is also powerful and it uses fire style.
It's the 4 tails that use lava style and the 5 tails use Boil release but good point.
I feel that Kishimoto's pulse trembled in making people very burned, or he had no appreciation for the fire style, you just have to see what Amaterasu became. In addition, it is the most limited element, it can only be used by mouth.

You forgot about Ameyuri Ringo, and her powerful "Thunder Gate" jutsu ✨
Nice rankings. Just missed to mention the 4° mizukage mirror jutsu, no?
In their first duel in VoTE, one tail cloak Naruto boils the water on the contact area. IIRC. My memory is hazy.
Tbh, I don't think it would be the best idea to throw a fire ball on a Deidara explosive art, Sasuke knew katon should stay at home in this fight.

Which was epic.
