From the study of Helga Thoene, the Chaconne was born as a funeral monument for the death of Maria Barbara Bach (1684-1720).
The Chaconne appears permeated with melodies of Bach's choirs that embrace the themes of Passion, Death and Resurrection: a sort of spiritual and cathartic journey that reunites man with God.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful music🙏
Que absoluta maravilha! Muito obrigado pelo belíssimo vídeo.
Meravigliante
Heavenly music!❤
fantastic work! So beautifully recorded too, showing how the musicians responded to the reverb within the church.
Exactly! Fourteen minutes of heaven... or in my case those are hours.
Благословенна жизнь, в которой есть Бах...
This is based on an analysis by my late violin professor Helga Thoene, she died in January 2021, R.I.P.
I would like to know if she knew of your performance and gave her permission to do it?
Das weiß ich leider nicht, das müßten sie die Musiker fragen
mosika ambony karazana. ilay mitendry ny violon dia olona mahay dia mahay mamoaka tsara ity hira ity. MISAOTRA an' i MARCO SERINO ...bravao bravao,,,,ooooooaaaaayyyyyyy...hitohy mandrakariva ny mosika tahaka itony,,
I love this Chaconne so much! That version is very interesting! But my favorit the Chaconne played by Henrik Szeryng ( ? )!
Sublimely beautiful . It shows the genius of Bach who sounds as though he was divinely inspired. Whoever put this together did a brilliant job.
As a matter of interest why did Sudtirol not like this comment? 🤔 24/5/2022
معزوفة مؤثرةuplifting piece
JSB gave us 1004 as a gift and a challenge - may we never cease to be inspired by it!
Masterful. Phrases are perfect and the violinist is gentle and careful not to overpower the quartet. Perfect taste, bravo!
Peace ✌☮
we make beautiful music through mutual cooperation... never through the use of force and coercion
Peace starts when I set you free to do whatever you can dream up.. then I, myself am free... free from the desire to change people, places and things to suit me...Siddhartha taught us that Nirvana is found through the absence of desire... this is what he was talking about...
Peace y'all
the StarFire Family wishes you Peace and Prosperity Ad Infinitum 🙏
Un lavoro meraviglioso, un'esperienza unica. Grazie a Marco e al Quartetto vocale Mozarteum Salzburg

Incredible
10 thumbs down?
Absolutely Marvelous!
Oh its broken hearted
wow sooooo beautiful If Bach was here to lift his hat he was happy
beautiful! bravo! is there a link for getting the sheet music?
The book is in German and contains a thorough analysis of BWV 1004 with numbers, symbols, hymn quotations, history background. The book also contains the CD “Morimur” with Christoph Poppen (vl) and The Hilliard Ensemble.
Bravo
Bravissimo Serino!
What made this violin original stradivarius?
It's an Amati! M°Serino is my violin teacher!
@@davytartini You are so lucky!
What text is used in the singing part ?
These are lines from German church hymns which Bach according to Helga Thoene hid in the Ciaccona. Jesu meine Freude, Den Tod niemand zwingen kunnt’, Dein Will’ gescheh’ Herr Gott zugleich, Vom Himmel hoch, Wie soll ich dich empfangen, Jesu deine Passion, and more.
Superfluous
My god the violinist’s hair though
Took a little while to atune myself but yes, quite exuisite
נהדר עיבבוד השומר על רוח הבאכית ומגוון אותה ,בביצוע מופתי
Please these singing voices OUT OF IT!
Unnecessary, half baked, poorly translated, bits and pieces that don’t make a whole. 1004 has not deserved this
Garbage. Remove the singers and you are left with the music. The voices are reduced to a bebop accompaniment group. Why weren't the singers given more of the music? Instead of just being assigned the backing vocals? Even when they are given the melody, the violin STILL plays it, instead of taking a backseat for a change.
You didn’t understand what this is all about. My late professor Helga Thoene, who researched whole decades about BWV 1001-1006, found many quotations of church hymns hidden in the score. This version is bringing these hidden hymn lines to the surface, making them audible for us all.
Its not just backing vocals, its the arrangers depiction of the longer harmonic progession of the piece. Its their interpretation of the longer phrases of this piece, and when we musicans play bach, we often aim to make longer, more beautiful phrases, so for me, this was a really refreshing and interesting take on the chaconne to hear
