Thanks for doing these videos. Even though I'm familiar with all the things you went over it's good to make sure I'm not missing out on a feature. I've been recommending your channel to Editors and Trainees. Great tutorials.

This is SO great; I've found this very helpful as there are few (if any) in depth tutorials on sound editing/mixing for Avid. Thank you

Hey! Love this channel, you've helped me so much when it comes to the little things in Avid MC. Got a question that I'm hoping you can help me with. I'm shooting an indie feature right now on a Blackmagic URSA Mini. Everytime I change the cards, I update the card number to avoid overlap. I do the initial ingest in Resolve, then make 115 bit MXF files for an offline in Avid MC.
In the past, I would cut offline in Avid, then export an AAF, making sure to link to the files, rather than export them. I would import this AAF into Resolve, uncheck Import Media and check Link to Source (or however that option is labeled) and the conform would be automatic.
I cut a short a teaser offline this week, and when I imported the AAF in Resolve, some (not all) of the shots were linked to the wrong media.
As an example, let's say I have a shot labeled A003_1234_C003.
When I import the AAF, the conformed shot turns out to be A014_5678_C013. It's completely different. I can manually conform and it works, but I'd hate to do that for a full feature. Any ideas what's happening? Thanks!

Hmmm did you happen to preserve tape name when doing the transcodes? This kind of thing helps for maintaining the correct link both in avid and resolve. I went into it in my avid proxy workflow video.

You need to set Resolve to "Assist using reel names from the source clip file name" BEFORE exporting to Avid. This will fill out the "Tape" column in Avid and guarantee a flawless round trip back to Resolve. Otherwise Resolve is only using TC for the conform and doesn't have unique matches if there's overlapping TC.

It is very strange that in our time there is no built in loudness metering in the avid program, because it is impossible to make the correct volume from the peaks. Sometimes you need to make a small clip or a small project in avid without going into protools. in all others programs there has been done for a long time. There are third party plugins for this. But still....

Hey! Thanks for doing these videos, they're so great.
Qu re audio suite pre sets -- I'm working on avid version 2323.3 but I don't seem to have any presets when I click on say D-Verb > factory default drop down > plug-in settings -- nothing shows up here. I know you mention you can purchase more in the Avid market place but do you have any idea why I don't have any to being with?
    Thanks!

Hmmmm, were you applying the D-Verb the same way as is done in the video? You should have the basic presets!
