A crusty old sea captain, returns home from a long voyage to discover that his family and his business are in chaos.
Thank you for this gem! I finished reading The Go-Getter and I loved Cappy right from the start. This movie portrays him just spot on.
This is a real five bag popcorn classic.
Walter Brennan! This will be a fine film. He was so great.
Thanks again & again & again Pizza Flix, my gosh ,I love these old movies !❤ Ive always Loved Walter Brennan .Watching your movies is better than going to a Drive Inn movie on a Saturday night! And believe me, that was something special, back in the day ! The only thing Im missing at this moment, is a big box of buttered popcorn a large slice of pepporoni pizza & a Coke !
Thanks for watching! May the Sauce be with you.
@@PizzaFLIX You can say that again Victoria!! I miss watching movies at the drive-ins!! I loved the popcorn, too! I enjoy all these older movies! I don't waste my time watching movies on cable or theatres!!
Victoria, it’s “ pepperoni”, and your preferred diet is just what you need to achieve morbid obesity and greasy skin in a hurry.
Great film as a teaching tool to inspire those who have lost thier sealegs of common sense on the Rocky shores of depending too much on technology and addicted to materialism..to find thier way back to basics..of all the things in life that matters most.
I adore Walter Brennan. As a child I picked up a few acceptable expletives. Dadgummit, dagnabbit, guldurnit. Walter rules!
I did also!
Linda Laurelin tyro power f
Linda Lauelin I agree , Wasnt Walter Brennan just the best actor ever ! I love the guy, ❤ I watched him as Grandpa, on the Real McCoys , he was a real character, and decent man ! He played many parts over his long acting career .and loved him in them all , the only part I ever saw him act the bad guy, was when he played old man Ike Clanton, in the western movie about the shootout at the O K Coral , usually he always had parts in which he played the good guy ! He was just an all around great actor , no matter what part he played ,also Love him in this movie !
@Linda Laurelin I adore him too! I have never seen him in a role that I did not love! When scrolling for a movie to watch, if it has Walter Brennan in the cast I click play, without hesitation.
Watching him on the Real McCoys in the 60s, made me a fan of Walter Brennan.
Absolutely delightful!😄😄😄❤️❤️❤️🙏
Wow! Eloise did a great job on costume design. Certified classic movie, can't wait for the special edition with producer commentary.
Not enough self defense segments. More like The Affairs of Crappy Ricks
@@tedheld9160 fuck off timhead, this is a space for movies. Perhaps you were looking for an EDM song. Go listen to your awful DKR and leave this video to the real buffs out there.
Great movie. I can't believe I've never seen this one before.

First class entertainment as always 🙂
Walter Brennan acting the role of a lovable old geezer, now there's something new 🙄. I'm surprised he walked like a abled bodied man in this film rather than his usual gimp with a limp. Regardless of his typecasting, he was a master at what his did. I rather enjoyed his performance here... dagnabit!
The "limp" was made up at the suggestion of a friend and sound-effects man, who told him to put a rock in his shoe. It became his trademark while doing "The Real McCoys".
Walter Brennan was in his 40's when he made this movie, hardly old.
@@maybee... must have been a hard 40.🤣🤣
A really fun and very satisfying movie. I highly recommend it. Thanks!!!!! P.S. I think Lyle Talbot is adorable!.
Very enjoyable movie!
I grew up in SF. I love these old flix. Mostly fruit free!!!
When you're at the level of costume design of Eloise you only need one name
I enjoyed watching this movie.
At 24:30 nice little right hander breaking off the reef !!!
Fun movie, almost makes me long for a similar cruise, but with more congenial shipmates.
After watching this, I realized that Brennan truly is the Joe Estevez of the 1930's.
Great movie! Thanks!!
love Walter Brennan seen all the shows hes bin in
There's not a yacht wroth its salt that doesn't have a bridal gown locker - with matching satin shoes to boot.
I DO SAY SHERWOOD SCHWARTZ GOT HIS IDEA OF "GILLIGAN'S ISLAND" FROM THIS MOVIE!
Humility 😘
FIRST THOUGHT ON MY MIND TOO!!!
Funny movie. Thanks for sharing.
Five bagger for sure
Why is this online version better than the VFA's best available print of Cappy Ricks?
You’ll find a big outfit like UA-cam runs its shows on broadcast-quality one inch videotape, which sadly isn’t available to the average home viewer. I’m sure the VFA chose the VHS cassette format so that the maximum number of film buffs could enjoy their offerings. It’s a trade off, but of course the UA-cam edition lacks the expert film commentary that’s baked into each VFA tape.
Who knows, maybe as the Archive grows, they could offer a “premier” or “pro” line of one inch tapes for true film connoisseurs.
Is Turkington working on a remake to this, at least from what I hear? Joe Estevez seems a shoe-in for the role of Cappy.
I love it. Thanks.
Excellent
You don't hear much about her these days, but I find Mary Brian to be quite an attractive lady.
I'm cuckoo for Cappy!
Good movie!!
Great movie
Brennan was in his very early 40’s when this was made.
Seems like WC Fields should have been in this flick.
Water closet fields?
Was Walter Brennen ever young?
He was 45 here and still looks 60.
Cute movie~
Gilligans Island circa 1937.
🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
And a little paint 🎨 so you can color it in and watch it like a current movie.
And... 🥤🥤🥤🥤🥤
Amos...Amos McCoy!!! That you Amos????
Great movie! Too bad that Hollywood has become so perverted it can't make a movie anymore without filthy language and trashy actors.
Gilligan Island precurser?
Chloe love is calling
Killigan's Island?
Gilligan's Island without headhunters!
And one of the ugliest wedding gowns I've ever seen!
apparently the part of walter brennan is played by frank albertson
LOL!!!...wasn't "watchin" yet...& look'd up @ 2:04 and saw immediately !....Good Call ! :^ )
Great movie
