- Luke and his friend Stefan travel to beautiful Northern Ontario, Canada for an epic destination tour between Hearst and Dubreuilville. Along the way they're treated to spectacular scenery and top shelf hospitality from their tour guide and local historian Pat Dubreuil and gain a greater appreciation for the rich heritage that makes this area one highlights of snowmobiling in Ontario.

Glad that you stayed in Hornepayne. There is a new motel being built this summer and we do have 2 restaurants. Our little town is AWESOME. Come one, come all and enjoy the north.
Back in the late 90’s I met Mark and Kent on the trail outside of where I believe was Temagami heading towards Timmons. I maybe off on my locations as it was so many years ago, but what really stood out was their enthusiasm to meet people who are as passionate about the sport as they are. What great ambassadors.. unfortunately I haven’t been back to Canada since the lockdowns. Hopefully next year..

I’ve been up to Timmons, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls area several times. We put on 250 miles per day, 4 days in a row so 1,000 miles in 4 days and it felt easy.

When we go up timmins north we easily road 400 miles a day for 3 days

@@snowtrax Should mention that I bought a 23 Lynx Rave RE, first BRP product for me. Lukes obvious glee while riding it was the deciding factor for me. hehe.
You showed the map of ‘Aventure Nord’ at the start. Anyone firmiliar with it at all?
if im in maine and want to ride over there for a change, with a very small group (max 4 sleds total) with a guide, do I ship my sled and fly over or rent one out there? would prefer to ride my own machine. general consensus??
A good ride is 300km per day here in Québec :-)
Yes, with no cameras. Hard to pile on 300 kms and film a 15 minute segment.

Beautify area….but please answer the question. If you live in that states and want to ride in Canada (Ontario) here’s what you need to do….passes, cost for permit, duration options day, week, season. Canada even open now with Covid??
You can order annual permits and multi-day passes from the OFSC website for about $45 CDN per day (min 2 days). Exchange rate is currently about $1.26 CDN for every US dollar. The the rules surrounding COVID at the border seem to change daily so if you're planning a trip, do your homework. Hoping all restrictions will lift very soon.

It's not that we went 180 kms that's impressive. It's that we piled on 180 kms while stopping constantly to film.

You need to understand that we spend HOURS filming. Just an unloading and gear up scene can take an hour and a half or two hours. We could lie about it. But I prefer not to. You could EASILY ride from Hearst to Dubreuilville in a day. Heck, if you were really pushing it, you could ride there for lunch then ride back. But for us, the mileage we were riding WHILE filming was insane.
Also, I HAVE been to hurst before. I raced the Nordcan 250 cross country race in the late 90's twice and placed 2nd. I just hadnt been back since... which is over 20 years ago.

I thought the speed limit on the trails is 50 KPH.
The roads are typically built to allow logs to be hauled out by semi trucks so no quick turns on them.
I bet Snowtrax wasn't doing the speed limit to cover that much ground in a day.I thought they advocated safe snowmobiling.Guess not.

Did I really here distance right because here its normal drive 200-500km per day and trails are not that easy to ride
Yeah, we know you guys ride hard. We are impressed. truly I mean it. We did this while filming the segment though. That's not an easy task.
We spend HOURS filming. You spend all of those extra hours riding. So yes, I realize you CAN ride from Hearst to Dubreuilville and back in a day if you want to, certainly from hearst to Dubreuilville in one day and back the next. But we filmed a 20 minute television segment while we did it. Just an unloading and gear up scene can take hours to film.
Fast running trail 50 km is not what I call fast running
